About This File

This is a simple concept and i am suppried it dosen't exist so i created a set of plugins that changes the elevations that the flora cycle is spread.

Readme  for floracycle plugin aproximate

this pluging alters the flora caycle and the elevation from sea level that the lora cycle is spread over. At  this point the flora plugins are experimental as little is under stood about them. this set of mod modifys the floracyle for god mode trees only. they have been tested on my machine and don't crash it however i cannot guarrantee that it willnot crash your machine if the is the case  put it up in  the moding forums. I probably won't be a great help as it is my first mod

From observations the vegetaion types appear to be split along a scale of 16 which isdenoted by the nuber after floracycle eg floracycle0 produces no trees above sealevel and floracycle2000 has trees up as high as 2800m depending on exposure

the default file is the same as the number used in simcity_1.dat and has the value 800. for the floraelevation cycle.

The layers are split appear to be evenly split over the 16 bands they are aproximately

bands

 1-4 forest dense no clearings

5-8 forrest with small clearings mixed

9-12 stands of trees mostly conifers broadleaf trees in sheltered areas

12-16 scrub brush with conifers in sheltered areas

elevations higher than this are scrub only as far as i can tell

Usage

to use this set of plugins remove all bar one of these to get a terrain cycle floracylcyle#.dat # is the elevation in m denoted  in 250 m steps to 3000 m and in 500m steps  upto 7000 m. No signifigant vegetation above 7000m (will need to check that). Default floracycle contains the unmodified flora tuning parameters.

I have afolder in my plugin folders called Moganite this is the location i placed these plugings. Place a copy of all plugins in your unused plugins folder in the subfloder moganite. Copy the plugin you desire into you pluging folder if you want to change delete the plugin of this set already present.

compatability

Although it is not tested i anticipated that there should be no interfence/compatability issues if a plugin does not modify the Flora cycle. If annother active mod does alter the Fora cycle expect problems.

Copyright

you are free to distibute thes mods etc but you must keep this file with this set. disribution of the zip archive this file came with is recomended as it contains this file and all the plugins.

Al credit for this particular set of plugins should go to Moganite at Simtroplis if this set of plugins at over sites without credit myself can be found notify me at david.danson@bigpond.com.au and i will make sure they either credit me or take down the file set.

It may be buggy as is the case with all mods however it hase been tested on its own i am loking for interactions with other mods particularly those that change ground textures. the map i used is my reunion island map as it had a wide range of elevations and that was what i was testing testing is contuniing as i download mods from other members also it needs to be tested on a number of configurations ather than my own

other terrain mods tested cycledogs Columbus Terrain+snowcapped plugins work with no problems or bugs. Teirusu's Snowcapped Srtic Mod works no problems .... shouldn't have any problems with the desrt one. Pegs rocktexture should be fine but untested. will get round to examining them later All other terrain/climate mods untested mods.

Dave - Downloading and testing now - I will test against Pegs rock mods - if this works with no compatability issues, I'll send the data mate :-)
