About This File

This is a map of the beautiful and ancient city of Budapest - the course and dimensions of the river is accurate

Budapest is richly endowed with natural springs of thermal waters possessing various medicinal properties, and it is these that supply the city’s many thermal baths. Budapest is known as the City of Spas. Among its most precious treasures are its sixteenth century Turkish baths, as well as the Széchenyi, the Gellért and the Lukács...

Aquincum Museum and Roman Ruins: These two-thousand-year old ruins are remains of the Roman town of Aquincum, and include an impressive ruin of the amphitheatre. The contents of the museum include murals, mosaic floors, a reconstructed water organ and a diorama showing what and how the Roman nobility ate.

Visitors to Budapest will quickly see how it has managed to blend several centuries of architectural and cultural heritage with all the innovations thrown at it by modern life. As finances permit historic buildings and monuments are gradually being renovated and restored

Budapest is not only famous for its thermal baths, but also for its remarkable caves, many of which can be visited. The two are linked, of course: the caves were formed by thermal waters in the first place, albeit over several millions of years. Unbelievably, there are two hundred documented caves under the city.

I'm really glad, that you made it, I requested it some months ago and now it comes true:) Only one question: will you ever make it with the hills, mountains? Or maybe have you got a heightmap exactly in that size? Maybe I could complete it, if you don't plan it in the future.

Nightquest - on the sattelite images I use for my maps, its very difficult to assess the terrain, so I would be honoured if you would care to add an accurate terrain to my map, and upload it as your own, giving me a little credit lol

I'm not a professional map maker, but maybe I can do it. Can you tell me the scale of the map? I mean x pixel = y km/miles. Or the coordinates of the corners of the map.

If anyone would like to attempt to put in the terrain features, then please do so - you have an accurate map on which to do it

This is a terrible map of Budapest. The river may trace an accurate course, but the western (Buda) side of the river is hilly and the eastern (Pest) side is flat.
