About This File

Wave3 Productions

Item #006

This mod contains a DAT file that adds a new lot to

your Parks menu.  This lot, when plopped, generates free

flowing streams that travel off the lot until they reach

either the edge of the map or a body of standing water.

How to Use

Place the lot on a slope with the arrow pointing downhill.

Once placed, the stream will begin to flow.  If you do not

like the direction it is going, you must either move the lot

or terraform so the water flows somewhere else.  The flow

does have some randomness to it, so it cannot be trusted to

go the same direction 100% of the time, and will occasionally

splash a bit.  But don't worry, as the streams pose no damage

to anything, they simply flow through buildings and vehicles.

Remember: water flows downhill!

WARNING ~ Usage of the Wave3 Free Spring Mod may cause a

speed reduction in gameplay, due to the CPU power required

to operate the stream effect.  In testing, no significant

frame rate changes could be detected, but theoretically the

lot has the potential to stall, freeze, or crash the game.

Saving is recommended before use.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! Anyway, modifying the physics of the water is incredibly difficult and/or impossible, so that is temporarily out of the picture. I am, however, working on some other advanced effect lots, including lava.

This is utterly brilliant. I can't imagine the amount of work that this must have taken. Thankyou. 10/10

Oh. My. God! What an accomplishment- I can't wait 'til Maxis 'officially' abandons SC4 and geniuses like you get the game in their hands 'open source.' Functional transit networks under land bridges next. D. Edgren

I use this in so many places! It's become one of my favourites! I just wish there was an arrow pointing the way the water flows. Sometimes hard to place without the water flowing sideways or over the green square. Maybe you could make the base transparent?

As space is limited here, I shall make this quick: Thanks for making this; it's so exceptional as to inspire me to actually say anything, here at Simtropolis, for the first time.

This is my second comment about this lot, I have been using it for some time now. Yes, a lava version would be nice :) The biggest change I would recomment would be to remove the grass base of the lot so that it matches terrain a bit better, otherwise you end up with grassy spots with water pouring out on top of valleys. Overally, still great and a pleasure to use! 9/10 :)
