About This File

This neo-classical style cathedral was built in 1830-1852 and it's propably the best-known landmark in Helsinki (Finland).

Lot size is 4x5 tiles. Plop cost $68 000, monthly cost $88. The lot isslightly scaled down from original and I removed two buildings fromeast side of the church.

I belive building was also a landmark in SimCity 3000 unlimited euro tileset.

What a classical beauty!! This is looking real good, the model is very well done aswell as the nightlights. I also would prefer it without the base, but anyway it is fantastic. Thanks for uploading.

Great. It took me a minute to realise that I stood before this church in Spring 2005 (business trip to Helsinki). The steps are kind of grey and not reddish/pinkish as you have made them though. And the cars are not allowed to park near the church, ha, ha, ha.

I think the stones are red granite, and for example in this photo it looks quite reddish: http://ecmlpkdd.cs.helsinki.fi/hphs/m/dcp_0255.jpg Yes, it looks very different in different lightning and the stones might be dirty...

In here you can see cars parked near the church: http://www.juvankoski.com/ilmakuva/x/helsinki/images/tuomiokirkko3_2005.jpg in this photo stones steps look very gray because sun shines on low angle.

Wow thats beautiful. Yeah I wish the lot was more green with plants and etc. But the church itself is brilliant. Excellent Work.

That has to be the first church on the Stex which is close to Russian style. I'm Ukranian myself and I would love to see some golden domed churches from Kiev for example.

Love the building. I agree the cars are odd up there... perhaps the site in the photo slopes. So, one side may have street access? The slope around the plaza is too steep for casual parking access. Maybe it's an opportunity for creative license? Beautiful BAT! 8/10

Excellent work. Somebody said that the lot is empty, but in reality, Tuomiokirkko area is very 'clean' of any clutter typical of any other major European landmark. 10/10

Oh the national pride I feel when looking at this particular building... Can you make the Helsinki/Helsingfors Central Railway Station next? :) -- Asjallista!

I think the building looks very good, BUT the lot needs something more. Seriously what are the cars doing up there?
