About This File

Need some more efficient way to go to space? Here it is, a Space Elevator!

(STATS)      LANDMARK ONLY, 2x4, cost:3,000,000 (watch out, obviously it is ridiculously expensive to build such stuff) Monthly cost: 3000, landmark effect=max

I built up to 21100m, including "Stratoshpere Station" at an altitude of 10050m, but you will probably hardly see it.   The tallest BAT ever made?

DUE TO THE WAY IT WORKS, IT CAN BE BUILT ONLY ON EQUATOR.

EDIT: too expensive? Yeah, fair enough, because game balance is more important than numerical realism. The cost is cut down by one digit for everything..

I like this a lot. Its nor completely unrealistic id say and i have very clever sims so they can build this to get to their space stations easier ;)

This Space Elevator Reminds me of a South Park episode when the U.S. and Japan were trying to build a stairway to heaven. 9/10

How come my game crashes when I choose this lot? It's unique, so 9. :P

Excellent, realistic, original BAT; would have been perfectly realistic if it increased the demand cap for I-M and I-HT [Space elevators are designed to be the cheapest way of getting material into space].

Unrealistic, Tough excellent, Judging structure itslf, it will immediately collapse even after a slight tremor. or even a small gust of wind. In no way is a space elevator of solid structure is ever going to stand, sides doesn't look like it has any form of foundation.

It is unrealistic in cost it should be much higher because of the cost of carbon nanotubes up to millions to billions of simolians would be spent so shut up about the cost ur lucky its that cheap. oh its realistic to be able to withstand tremors because its a wire being supported by the planets rotation and an asteroid bult in space but it must be built near or on the equator. Though i like it so 10/10

I disagree. The price is too high. The person who aims to create one wants it to be cheap for even middle class and poorer families. If you guys actually watched 2057 or read about it you would know.

Oi. This is an awesome "building" you've got here. However, it would be about 30 times better if it didn't crash my game upon selecting it. And as for these people who have commented here who are incapable of reading and fully understanding the concepts behind this, well, they should just be put out of their misery. Other than that, 9 out of 10 only because I'm pissy about it crashing my game.

I read the comments for this and it seems to me that a lot of people don't understand, I just want to say that you can't call something riddiculus or confine it to sci fi just because you don't understand it great work 2ch.net Simplayer

100% Realisic in my eyes its good (if you have a city in 2015 or higher) for any city! The only peoblem is the "has to be at or near the equator" rule of space elevators and such though id like to know what material you used. this should funtion as an HT/Airport bulding and should be unlocked after the rocket launch pad as a reward. also there are multiple moneh parks! that give you free moneh

i got a couple things too say:1, when we were first getting into space there was an idea (a dumb one at that ) to have an elevator to go up in earths orbit so we wouldnt need to waste so much fuel getting up.2, great idea but....3, it crashes ur computer when u try to build one. 3/10

I like it but I think it should give boost to ht industry and CO. after all it takes a lot of high tech equipment to build and some corporation must manage it.
