General Information about the Area
Gold Beach, OR is located in extreme southwestern Oregon, USA. It isalong the Pacific Ocean, with the Klamath Mountains (Part of the CoastRanges) going through the region. This area of Oregon is known as the"Banana Belt" due to its climate, which is the warmest in all ofOregon. The Pacific Ocean modifies the climate there, keeping it warmerin the winter and cooler in the summer. Snow is likely during thewinter in the mountains, especially at the peaks. Strong Pacific Oceanstorms roar through during the winter, and winds during these stormscan approach or even exceed hurricane force (74 MPH), with very largewaves on the ocean. The main road that goes through this area in reallife is Route 101, which runs along the entire U.S. Pacific coastline.

This map is very close to exact scale. The elevations are also veryaccurate. All of the mountains, valleys, rivers, and oceans are asaccurate as possible for the game (Without using any mods orenhancements). There are many terrain types in this region, includingthe following: Ocean, mountains, rivers, flat land and coastlines. Itoffers unique and diverse city building oppurtunities, ranging fromcoastal cities built on flat land to small towns nestled into mountainvalleys. The oppurtunities are endless. This region could include skiresorts/mountain towns, beach resorts/coastal cities, citiesstrategically placed along rivers and in valleys, etc. There are enoughoptions for anyone to build the city of their dreams.

The included config file is 20 by 20 pixels. The standard Maxis configfile is 16 by 16 pixels, so it is a bit larger than average. Still,this region should run well on almost any computer, while still beinglarge enough for plenty of building oppurtunities.
