Not much. the house you're looking at is listed as "14715 Foothills drive", a nice 4 bed room 2 bathroom ranch style with a Killer view. Overlooking " The Blockade" ( the back of my CBD. It's called the blockade cause the mountains stop the advancement of very tall buildings)

Almost done treeing a region for my lets play series. this is my first time seeing it in one whole scale form Agros- Alta Ria:
  5. Show us your Downtown!

I knew someone would say that. theres a story behind why there are no glass building in Historic Downtown Oaksville. let me explain why. In the 30's The Arca Administrative region ( the region this is in) was in the middle of a 8 year drought. water levels had drop to an all time low. about thrice as less as they should have been. In late august a fight at a local highschool football ( the bedford earthworms vs the Oaksville Lumberjacks) game broke out which turned to panic in the neighboorhood. amoung the small riots fire broke out. The city didn't have the resources to put them out and lost 63% of Historic (back then, the only) Downtown, Including the School itself. what you see there is the remains of the fires of 35'. The Capital city of Arca was totally behind rebuilding the city as soon as possible. they dedicated all the funds they could and imported materials they could from other countries until the drought was over in 42'. about this time a group made up of old bigwigs and church leaders came into existence. they called themselves A.R.C.A ( Administration of Redundant Civil Aesthetics). they shot down request after request of glass based buildings in downtown due to the fact that they felt like "the historic limestone buildings should be downtown because they tie the area together cohesively and they are paying homage to the pillars of hope that were raised from the 35' fires". the other Architects and engineers felt like they should have glass block building because it brings downtown out of an era of outdated-ness and ties us closer to modern cities, giving us an overall aesthetic boost. The other architects and engineers fought tooth and nail, but were outdone when it came time to put it to a vote because A.R.C.A had more political and social standing. But the other engineers and Architects weren't over yet. They found some old documents detailing the area of downtown to be defined as " The swath of land east of the Lachlan Canal, and south of the old Folks bridge". they decided that they would petition the capital for a federal grant that allowed them to build west of the Lachlan canal, but south of the old forks bridge. The capital loved the idea of having a city to rival others like Paris, tokyo, and L.A. The first area that was completed was Lower Glasstowne: before the buildings, this whole area was marsh and Slum projects. they bought the residents out at an average of 61,000 simoleans ( which, would make them middle classed by todays standards). Due to the fact that Glasstowne was slightly more centrally located than the historic Downtowne it recieved a business bom and had no choice but to expand northernly.: and finally a picture of the two downtowns co-existing Peacefully :

Something in the same region as my other one i posted a page or so back that needs a tiny smudge of updating. The mass transit lines don't come down to this part of downtown (Affectionately called Oldstowne [and sometimes Centuria] )

I like that your city has ton of greenery in it, even around the business cores and that even for a larger city you took the time to develop parkways and a well used transit system. Its gives me a northwestern America (Vancouver-ish, or possibly Portland) feel to it. for a first try- definitely 9/10 material. @ROFL- I impressed a legend! Thanks so much!
  8. Show us your Downtown!

Simgoober has a lot of content that will fill an downtown area with relative ease (although a lot of it isn't skyscrapers, it is a lot of filler stores and commercial lots) and the best part of it is if you still wanted to keep your "grow not plop" campaign about 95% of it is growable. a few other noteworthy names are xyloxadoria, Nofunk, Jasoncw, reddonquixote, scotty222, Darkono35,heblem, and Sgt Pepper (though most of these guys make plop towers).
  9. http://www.buzzfeed.com/alisonvingiano/insane-pictures-of-the-detroit-metropolitan-area-underwater As you may or may not know, Metropolitan Detroit was in the center of some life threatening storms Monday afternoon. I'm here to tell you guys my side of the story from a first-hand encounter. Firstly i must say that i work in the GM technical center on thirteen mile road East, which unfortunately was the greatest impacted area (and IMHO , the epicenter) of all the watery destruction monday night. Everyday i walk two miles to work, thirty five to forty minutes, from just east of schoenherr ( Pronounced Shay-ner- for anyone wondering) across the area which is littered with small streams and ponds that no one would have ever thought would become so dangerous. The day started pretty normal for me with the exception of a little rain. the rain was a very light drizzle by the time i made it to work (around 2). Since im still in training at work I was placed in a small windowless classroom in the center of the building so i had no idea what was going on outside. My first inclination that something was wrong was that we had a rolling power-out across the building at 5:30ish. then about 7 the glass roof in the cafeteria came crashing in (with rain) from about 25 feet above. Still i chalked it up to the building being slightly on the older side and didn't think much of it. things really got serious about 8:30 when the teacher said she would release us an hour and a half early, at 10 from our 11:30 class. when ten oclock came around we were informed that we were being barricaded On the GM campus unintentionally by a Semi (Yes, an eighteen wheeler) that had stalled right in front of the gates. my superiors came down and said that basically (because the campus is on higher ground than the surrounding areas slightly) we were surrounded by water on all sides, basically we were an island in the middle of warren. Since i wasn't driving anyway i was free to leave. I thought to myself "its only a little bit of water. Im 6'6, what can possibly happen"? At first - the water was high but still maneuverable. it came up to the mid part of my shin. after the quarter mile walk (from the Chicago entrance of the GM center to Van dyke) the water shallowed out slightly. I was able to cross the street with no problem but when i got to the other side mass hysteria had broken out. Right along the side of the Lowe's a small storm drain had completely overflown just recently and was stranding people in about five feet and the half feet of brown murky moderately fast moving water. after i realized i couldn't cross it i doubled back to the parking lot of the lowe's where i was met with about 75 - 150 new faces of people who had been stranded on their way home. Some of them were talking about making a swim for it across Van dyke ( which was submerged in about 5.5 feet of murky dark brown water. Granted, that isn't bad for me because im 6'6 but for the average person who isn't a strong swimmer that's hell). I tried.... i really tried to persuade people to stay put and not to try to make that swim ( there was a small current that i was particularly worried about that pulled you out near the storm drain) but some people were so adamant on it. Once i had crossed the big lake that was once van dyke by straddling the gate down for about half a mile I tried to save at least three cars from being submerged by flagging them down and telling them that the water was a lot deeper than expected just a few hundred feet ahead but they also didn't listen. I don't know if any of the people i warned are okay or not, and i feel bad that i wasn't able to save or influence anyone. after two and a half hours of walking around trying to direct people to safety while looking for an area of van dyke that wasn't submerged so that i could cross behind it safely i was completely and utterly exhausted both physically and mentally. The whole ordeal was very reminiscent of the last scenes of titanic when the boat is still going down, and they're playing the sad song on the violin. My only wish now is that everyone affected by this ( all the south east michiganian's, as well as other Mitten simtropolites Such as Nofunk, Jasoncw, Theol'Michiganian, and myself) crisis is now somewhere safe.
  10. Show us your Downtown!

    still working on it.
  11. Show us Your Interchanges!

@Yarahi: On the N & S bound lanes you're going to want to give those lanes a lot more time to accelerate and merge. i would plop those transition pieces at least 8 to 9 tiles back Edit: its an avenue. maybe like 4 to 5. but other than that its still really great
  12. Show us Your Interchanges!

started this one out as a harmonic convergence test to see how well NWM, PS, & RHW blended. then got bored and turned it into a shopping complex. Behold. The Shoppes at Ashburgh.
