Hello! I'm new to modding for simcity 4. And I'm from Russia, my English is bad, and I use the Google translator.
I'm trying to create a series of typical architecture of the USSR 60-90s. The particular series of the house - 90 (5 floors, 2 entrances). But I have a bug when exporting the model of BAT. When rendering LOD, 13% an error code=6. It's only when you try to export LOD of 3dsmax. If i am export model, create in Gmax BAT - all good. 

 And I have a ready-made set of garages, functional - you can get this in attach.

    I am writing after a long break. I solved the problem with the export of the game. I will continue to create BAT

    But I have a new difficulty, can not figure out how to export the night view of the model. Without the night view of the game models look inferior.

    Now i use bat4max and 3dsMax 2009.

    Have you uploaded them to STEX

     

    I am waiting to download & use them.

     

    And let me tell you many people here in Simtropolis wants to make communist type or soviet type city. So you will have many downloads.

     

    Can you please post some tutorial links that you're following regarding modelling, using the Bat4Max and the night light stuffs if its OK to you :)

    Not yet, because the houses are in the stage of test. Currently I'm reinstalling SimCity for the final test version with night lighting, and I made some alternative color schemes. After that, of course, they will be available for download here.

    Almost all the knowledge modeling for SimCity I learned on this site. Actually my skills in 3D modeling unsatisfactory for me.

     

    I have a question to the audience of the site. How interesting it would be to accompany the releases of historical information about a typical architecture of  Soviet Union and Russia? (Given my level of English)

    Yes please. Historical information included with the download would be good. (don't worry about the level of English it's a lot better than my Russian ;))

     

    Edit, sorry should have said, great building by the way. My only suggestion is to de-saturate the dark brown texture a little.

    I on the contrary, it seems that the texture is not enough saturated and I want to achieve expressive textures. Maybe I'm wrong.

    I began to create a residential version of the mod, and encountered difficulty in assigning the correct values for the mod.

    Are we talking about an R§ growable (Low wealth)?

     

    If so, for a capacity of 250, I'd recommend:

     

    Building value: 2100 - 2200

    Bulldoze cost: 240 - 250

    Construction time: 24 - 25 (it's always bulldoze cost divided by 10!)

    Flammability/stage: looks OK

    Pollution at center: 10 / 3 / 5 / 0

    Pollution radii:         5 / 6 / 0 /0

    Power consumed: 3

    Water consumed: 13 - 14

    Worth: 240 - 250 (it's always the same as bulldoze cost!)

     

    You can set the values a bit higher or lower, but if you keep them pretty much like this, you will have a building that behaves like similar Maxis buildings. :)

    I'm sorry for a lot of questions, I'm on the finish line. It remains to determine exactly which depending contains my lots. How can I do this? And another question, how to assign a European-style building?

    PS. I checked the performance of the night models in the game, it works!

    Through trial and error I reached version, which can be laid out to share. Thanks for all the help to learn modding! Waiting for feedback, comments and criticism. PS. I'm just starting to learn modding. And I have further plans to create a typical Soviet architecture. PS2. Decided to create a small profile for Soviet-style fashion (He is very expressive and cute).

    I like both of your files... Extremely realistic. A city built with your type of buildings will really look very realistic and functional.

    Do not know if this is normal, but I have to approach a new batch of mods. It houses the same 1-464 series, but with no less common variant of the flat roof.

    Ah, if rendering was faster...

    PS. Not all variations of color schemes I am satisfied, in the final pack will include fewer of them, or will be improved or replaced by what either of these.
