Toggle off the Unsupported OS message banner in Google Chrome While I use Firefox as my main web browser, the other day I ran into a warning message on one of the computers I use. Chrome has auto updates by default, and so it sneaked its way in as a deliberate addition into the latest update. Basically it makes info text appear at the top, every time one restarts the browser on a system below Windows 10. Like so: There is (thankfully) at least an X close button to the side, however no such "Don't show again" option exists. That's where removing it needs a workaround. My tutorial explains 2 methods of preventing this message showing. The first uses the Windows registry, as a simple policy addition. The second is a command line startup switch. Both of these methods are what Chrome (as of December 2022) allows to prevent the message showing. Unless anything changes from upcoming immediate updates to the Chromium browser engine, upon enforcing the preference it should be respected indefinitely. Now for anyone reading this on a Windows 10 (or newer) system, one might be wondering... Why on earth would anyone in their right mind use an outdated operating system online? That's asking for nothing but troublesome trouble! In response to this viewpoint, I feel it's important to reinforce how running whatever type of operating system is very much a personal decision. Whether old or new, for being in control over which software one wishes to use, and in my view this is no exception with web browsers. For anyone aware of risks, methods can be taken to reduce them which includes browsing the internet inside a sandboxed environment. While it's down to the developers of software for which OS's are supported, I think it's only right that this isn't pestering people to upgrade contrary to their wish. It might be crazy to stick to the likes of Win 7, and maybe it is. Yet for anyone who it makes sense to use the same comfy pair of shoes and realises how to mitigate risks online, that's important to maintain for as long as is viable. So that's what I've taken some time to document in tutorial form. This is intended for those who prefer to remain in control over their choices on their own personal computers. Here is the video: Hopefully this comes in useful for people who happen to search and find this topic. The description (click here to load in full on YouTube) contains some extra info about it all, if interested in the techy details. -CB

All Chrome Tabs say "crashed". Five days ago, reports started rolling in about Chrome crashing for Windows users. Lots of people are having this issue, including me. I was able to get Chrome working again, maybe out of luck. But may people report doing different things to get it back. Google advises to let the browser run for more then five minutes then close and reopen and I should work again ----> found here https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/110605125/chrome-crashing-unable-to-access-anything-not-even-settings?hl=en I need my Chrome!!!! Chrome will open, but all tabs will try to load but fail and read "crashed". And I was notified with Windows popups saying two extensions I use( Google Offline Docs and uBlock Origin) has crashed and to click to restore. But nothing would change when I clicked them. I could not open the Chrome settings to turn these extension off. Completely blocked out of Chrome browser, but I could access my google account through another browser. And there is no my to turn these extension off from there, only in Chrome. Great set up they have! Not. Eventually after removing Fallout Shelter(from Steam) from having access to my account and reinstalling Chrome is when it stated working again. Don't know if the two are related, but I got it back. If you are having this problem, check the link (Here) from Google's support thread.

Hello community, I've just installed NAM. So I ran the 4GB patch and installed Java environment before. After all that I've noticed bugs on Chrome, images and some videos/sounds wouldn't display anymore; There's also a green/yellow stuff kind of everywhere ; and no sound on youtube videos... The whole "texturing" display seems unstable. I've tried uninstalling Java patch but nothing changed. Everything is fine on Edge, it's just Chrome (that I'd like to keep). I've made some screenshots so you can see. Any idea? My bet is that it's linked to the java patch stuff.

Read this part of the article from link. Do the simple test below to check if you were infected. ~Microsoft exposes Adrozek, malware that hijacks Chrome, Edge, and Firefox~ By Catalin Cimpanu for Zero Day on December 10, 2020 -18:37 GMT (10:37EST): https://www.zdnet.com/google-amp/article/microsoft-exposes-adrozek-malware-that-hijacks-chrome-edge-and-firefox/ small quote and pictures from above source "Microsoft has raised the alarm today about a new malware strain that infects users' devices and then proceeds to modify browsers and their settings in order to inject ads into search results pages. Named Adrozek, the malware has been active since at least May 2020 and reached its absolute peak in August this year when it controlled more than 30,000 browsers each day....Based on internal telemetry, the highest concentration of victims appears to be located in Europe, followed by South and Southeast Asia." "Modifications performed by Adrozek include: Disabling browser updates Disabling file integrity checks Disabling the Safe Browsing feature Registering and activating the extension they added in a previous step Allowing their malicious extension to run in incognito mode Allowing the extension to run without obtaining the appropriate permissions Hiding the extension from the toolbar Modifying the browser's default home page Modifying the browser's default search engine All of this is done to allow Adrozek to inject ads into search results pages, ads that allow the malware gang to gain revenue by directing traffic towards ad and traffic referral programs." *(JUST TYPE IN microsoft in your browser and compare the results to the pictures below.) Is there a chrome shader?
AmiPolizeiFunk posted a topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Just wondering if there's a better way to do shiny metal or stainless steel props. I can't get any results even close to what I'm looking for with the standard shader w/ high spec values. Is there anything better hidden in the game somewhere? I'm looking at these bollards in the foreground, for example.
