Well, I had the contacts and good fortune to know the guy who created the back-end data system for all Maxis games at the time. He developed the DB system that I cracked way back then and wanted to support the community that developed around the game so sent me the source code and DLL that is referenced here. Several years ago I made an attempt at getting the source code to SC4 to push the game into a true community game but was blocked by EA lawyers. A couple years later they released the epic disaster that was SimCity 2013.

Amazing this is still going! Almost 20 years now!

A lot of these features are currently done with mods. So it's nice to see those get integrated into the main game.

It's an attempt to woo the Asian market.

The new DLC announcement baffled me. I just wrapped up a Youtube series with Natural Disasters, and this new DLC offers really nothing unique enough to warrant another series. Fact is, we already have mass transit in the game, why add blimps if not to squeeze more money out of an already shaky fan-base?

I'm truly disappointed by this announcement. I read the post and nothing in it caused me to get excited.

Cool! I always encourage modding! I just uploaded the map I've been using for that series as someone requested it.

Yeah! There's a new DLC due out for Skylines and I'd like to cover that. Not sure how I'd schedule it though, covering 3 games has me busy 7 days a week.

Several years ago I was actually in talks with Maxis to get the full source of SC4, all was going well until their 'legal' team stepped in.

It's one of the oldest time-stamped files on my computer at the moment. Dated 2003!!
