Multi lane RHW (Rural Highway) Guide & Thread

Shadow_Assassin: Yes it is! I will post a pictrure of it when I get a chance. Godzillaman: If you follow my giude at the begining of this thread, the answer is YES! Albatross Domain: The Jan release of the NAM was the previous version. The June release is the currently the most up-to-date version of the NAM. -
Hmm.. I can't see your picture SWAT-MEDIC! Anyways, heres a couple shots of mine: Click on them for full resolution (1440X900 px) or the link if that doesn't work. Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here

Great work mightygoose! The new NAM looks very promising indeed! Those tunnels/underpasses in your photos (in your link), do they function and are they UDI-compatible? They look very squeezed though at 1 tile long, I would recommend using the Big Dig lots or the Motorway entrance lots instead for a more gradual decent (3-t tiles long), but those are not UDI-compatible.

Multi lane RHW (Rural Highway) Guide & Thread

One more thing, Houston_Fan: If you changed your through one way roads to the RHW the the speed would increase for your commuters and the image would look much better! However, since you have 3 one-ways in each direction, you can use my Multi-RHW guide to be able to create such a network. The pictures show how to do it for a 8 lane highway, but if you just repeat the process, you will be able to make a 12 lane highway with no extra difficulty! Here is the link to the Multi-RHW guide, or just use the hyper link via my signature. https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=124&threadid=86988&enterthread=y

Tickford: not too shabby. Just a little FYI Though on the first image, the intersection in the lower right hand side with the on-ramp is not placed correctly.

Multi lane RHW (Rural Highway) Guide & Thread
Haljackey replied to Haljackey's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Hey everyone, just a little update here: Here is a brand new multi-RHW (RHW- to RHW-10 transition. It is in the works and some pathing needs to be done. A big thanks to Lollothebest for the image! EDIT: By the way, warrior and DFire870: the RHW-8 has been canceled and the RHW-10 has taken its place. The Multi RHW is the only current (and probially will always be) way to create a RHW-8! -

With a little pathing, it should work like a charm! Excellent job lollothebest! Here I'll upload the image so both firefox/IE browsers can see it: Brilliant idea, eh?- 3,919 Replies

Krukedogg: 1. You can use the radical automoa mod in the NAM (which I mistakenly used in my last pictures), but that will really slow down your game. 2. Get your population up! My cities in the pictures have well over 1,500,000. The more people/jobs, the more commuting traffic. 3. Another alternative is to use carpool incentive radical mod (found in the mods and downloads section). 4. Finally, if you want to cheat a little, you can download the traffic generator from the STEX to create traffic for you.

Boston Central Artery/Tunnel Project (Big Dig)

I'm at a loss for words, Blahdy... -
warrior, that looks awesome!

Its actually a bullet train skin for monorail. I downloaded it from a Japanese website, can't remember the name though. If you scan through the Massively Gigantic Japanese gallery thread in the BAT forum you will find a link there. I think what I did wrong is when I installed the new NAM, I used a radical 24h automotive mod, that gave me radical effects of having way too much traffic. On top of that, it made my game run painfully slow, so I had to remove the mod.

vilbe, that last pic is cool, seeing its older design standard! The sign in the first pic looks confusing though because its a left exit! -
K, thanks a lot Andreas Roth! You guys have done a fantastic job with this! Happy belated BD BTW!

It: Here is a link to the new NAM: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/fr_main.htm However, you will have to create an account there just to download it. So I have the new NAM and I tested it out, and everything looks great! Excellent job NAM TEAM! However, I do have two questions about it: 1. Are the curved roads part of this NAM? I do not see it if it is included. If it is included, where would I locate this? 2. Are avenues the only network that can connect to the avenue roundabout? Thanks a lot -Haljackey

Originally posted by SWAT-MEDIC hello haljackey, I was just wondering how you have done those strait bridges over your awsome sunken highway, when you get a chance, can you post a tutorial at this thread? < https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=23&threadid=88950 > you've posted here before, that is how i saw your highway, but nice work! looking forward to your tutorials!quote> Well its no tutorial, but you have to get the ground level just right. The NAM hole digging lots make it a perfect grade for the NAM overpassed, but too low for the Maxis interchanges. In my post on 05/19/2007 12:24 PM in this thread, it shows a solution to this problem. You just have to play with the slopes and the interchanges to get them just right! I hope this answers your questions! If anyone else can ellaborate that would also be great!

Nice job Tarkus! They just show whats going to be possible with the RHW network! Anyway here are two more of mine: Click on the photos for FULL RESOLUTION! A dual highway/multi highway connector with off/on ramps and grade seperation featuring no weaving! A very compact diamond interchange with the multi highway before development of the area kicks in!

Multi lane RHW (Rural Highway) Guide & Thread
Haljackey replied to Haljackey's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
ccecill, Check out the RHW project thread in this fourm or via my sig for more info on the MIS. Try from pages 40-50 on for the best development info. -
Philadelphia: The RHW file has to be in your NAM Folder. Having it in plugins may be your problem. You can also but a few ZZZs before the filename so it loads after the NAM. Hope this helps you out!

Multi lane RHW (Rural Highway) Guide & Thread
Haljackey replied to Haljackey's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
gogncjk12: No, this is the only to make 4 lanes or more in one direction. However a 5 lane network is in the works (RHW 10). Crazy_Ivan80: they are part of the newest NAM! You can download it in the mods and downloads section. -

Haljackey replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
tommiej: You can find it here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?p=results Tarkus: Ya its "problematically" the bullet train mod thats messing me up. I am assuming there has not been a bullet train over RHW overpass texture made yet so it turns into the default monorail. Lollothebest: Excellent job with the road intersection! The RHW 4-RHW 10 just looks huge! One comment though, maybe a multi-RHW (RHW to RHW 10 transition would be more approperate because you are just adding one lane between the two tiles instead of 3 for the RHW 4. You can see my thread on the multi-RHW (RHW via my signature.- 3,919 Replies
