Hi Foo, I had the original CAM Starter Pack of these buildings. Over time I realized that only 2-3 actually grow, the rest seem to have stats that make them very unlikely to grow (even when demand and right zone is there). Do you have any experience with that? Not sure if smaller alterations of their stats would make them grow.

SC4PIM-X 2026 & New Properties Update Out Now!
Deemer replied to Ulisse Wolf's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
I have the same issue as Andreas and Dead_End. Seems to be a rather common bug. One question: if you installed the new_properties.xml-patches - is there somehow a way to see whether it worked? I am not sure I used the right folder (I have too many SimCity 4 folders over time...) -
Alright, I have had some time and remoddeld the first dozen or so of Industrial buidlings. I was able to figure out a few of the errors I made myself, but there is three where I could use your help again. 1. Building too long? This is the vacuum distiller from CapitalSIM (included in the same download): http://descargas.capitalsim.net/?sitio=csc&descarga=421 The LOT is a 3x3 in the plopable version from the download, but the building in the LOT Editor looks tiny. When I create a new LOT file, PIM-X wants to create a minimum of a 3x4 file, but then the building is short and the first row will be "empty". So I asked PIM-X to reduce to 3x3 size (manul edit), and then moved the building (which in my version is a much bigger box in the LOT editor) in place. In the LOT editor the blue box is then "outside" of the LOT, which makes it look fine in game, but the lot apparently then overhangs causing this weird slope correction then you can see in the bottom of the picture. Is there anything I can do, or is just a bad lot? 2. One building, several lots I also made this lots CAMpatible: Because the original has 2 versions each, I also did this in the CAM-Versions: one 2x3 and one 3x4 for each "outfit". Everything seemed to be going fine, but when I test in the game (I use the cheat buildingplop) only the smaller version is selectable - the larger does not even appear, so cannot be plopped. Is there something special I need to remember when doing 2 versions of a LOT from the same building? 3. Buildings are props I also wanted to CAMify this model: However, the file includes 2 models, the right side "building" and a tank. The original author somehow include them as props, 2x the building, 6x the tank. The lot is basically without any building. I tried to recreate it by making a lot using one of the buildings, with the large lot size, and then to copy the props over. However, only my building appears, the rest stays empty. Also, PIM-X obviously has a hard time working out a filling degree as the it "sees" only a tiny portion of the lot. What approach do it need to take? And maybe a final question. I also remodelled this lot allthough it is not technically a CAMelot. However, even in the original file I a missing a texture. Is that the same for anyone else? I have all dependencies. @nos.17: I will now try to figure out the way how to create the SC4PAC file. Obviously I need to use the "include" function to get only the models, right? I will probably try with one or two lots and then send it to you for checking. If I got it right, I can finalize and then upload. By the way: are the original CAM Starter Packs still around somewhere. I mean I have them on my computer, but without the permission of all the Model Creators I cannot upload them. That would be a real shame. However, the links are 99% broken. https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2039.msg59866#msg59866 On top I started creating a similiar overview, so we can create a new list for all CAM-enthusiasts. Thanks to all.

Found that feature and it was already activated, nothing to do (using Version 2026.6.2). This is what it showed me: I assume the two textures in the end are the culprits, but PIMX cannot help (or am I misunderstanding?). The author claims there are no dependencies at all, so I was a little suprised to see such a long list. (Don't mind the locally not found part, I only loaded the lot.) Maybe it is just an error in the lot? @Ulisse Wolf I am not sure I am understanding your last sentence right. In the "DESC"-File I can set the OG to all style, CAMeLOT, Stage and CO$$$ (for instance for the example above (see below). However, I also need to set the GUID to get it to show in the query as a "CAMeLOT". I tried this with 0xCA1CA1C3 for my example, which seemed to work. Does that Value change depending on the different RCIs? Is there a list somehwere? Final question before I get working: is there a reason why I would re-lot any buildings >Stage 8 (for R and C) or >Stage 3 (for I)? CAM simply extends the range (i.e. making range 8 split into 7 additional ones) or am I misremembering? That would mean any lot below Stage 8 would automatically be campatible or do I have that wrong? Anyways, aside from the stupid texture issue above I think I can get started to make some lots campatible and then will be back with questions regarding SC4PAC. Thanks!

Excellent, thank you so much. I was able to fix all the issues (I am on a strong learning curve here... ) As a matter of fact I did not know that PIMX had keyboard shortcuts and that pressing "b" will open up a completely new world... Two follow ups: 1. The Union Pensa - already in the original lot - seems to be missing a texture right at the entrance. Is there a way how one can find out which one it is and replace it? Looks a little weird without it. 2. I tried to make the buildings show up as "CAMeLOT"'s - i.e. the small ribbon in the right corner. I figured out that the "Query exemplar GUID" is responsible for that and simply copied the value from another CO$$$. It seems to work in game, but PIM-X highlights it red, like I am doing something wrong. Is this the right value? Do I need to change it for each RCI?

ok, let me show you a few examples. I know not all of these would be CAM Stages, but I assume the process is the same whether I convert a Stage 8 or below or one above. Example 1: Weird base structure Union Penosa lot - The original does seem to have a missing texture or something (see white square), but besides that the props seem to copy just fine. However, when building on a slope the base does something weird (see arrows). Example 2: Flipped building The CBX Tower is reversed. I can copy the textures, but then it obviously looks weird. So where can I say that the building needs to be facing the other way? Example 3: Two Buildings This is an old (maybe even lower quality) LM that I converted. Apparently the building is now double (see roof). However, this is also where in the past (not shown here) I had an issue that the windows (backside, circle) would not be "in the building" but floating in front of it (as if they where placed a bit too far away). Links to buildings: Union Penosa CBX Tower (I did not concern myself with the version "in construction" and hence also did not download the dependencies) Acchi Poppo Thanks for the help!

I forgot to ask one thing: is there anything that controls the frequency of a lot? The buildings I changed so far using "my method" did mostly work, but some seem to never appear even though the demand is there and the right lot has been put down. Is there anything else one has to take into account?

Hi NOS, thanks for the quick reply. Yes, this is where I failed in the past. I did try to copy and paste the properties over, but it often did not align anymore, everything looked just a bit of out place. For instance, once the textures for the windows where offset by a few pixels so floated in the room. I will try the new PIMX version, maybe I get along better with that one. I will read the SC4PAC docs and see what I understand :-) Otherwise I will reach out for help. Hopefully I can put some time to this over the summer.

All, I have enjoyed this game and all the different Plug-ins since many years. I feel like it is time to give something back to the community, however, I have zero experience in BATs or LOTs, so I won't even try. Still I have many different buildings I downloaded over the years, but many are not CAM-patible. However, with SC4PIN you can obviously change their values to fit into the game. My idea is that I can change a larger set of non-CAM buildings to fit the CAM and upload it sort of like a new starter pack. The problem is: I am pretty sure I am doing it wrong. I download the buildings, open them in SC4PIN and simply change the exisiting lots (recompute values with filling degree) and save them. I tried to create new .lot and .desc by dragging the building into the right RCI, but I lose all the props around the building. They look empty. Can someone either tell me how I do it right (creating a new file, instead of overwriting the old file) or direct me to a good resource where I can read up about that? The SC4PIM manual did not really help me with that. Also, when I am on the job I made as well create a SC4PAC version. Is there a manual how to do that as well? Not sure if I will need more knowledge to achieve that goal, but at least it is worth a shot. Thanks, Deemer

Bugfix: Wrong "Traffic Noise" for R$$
Deemer replied to Kartenhaus's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hi all, is there still (or rather now) a CAM Version available, even if for testing? xxdita's link is not active anymore, but I believe this to be an important patch. I am using CAM, so I could test, even though I would not be entirely sure how to be sure if it works. Anyways, if anyone still has a file to test, happy to try. Regards, Deemer- 27 Replies

Yes, at first I also thought this was the seasonal trees, so I planted some of the parks that have seasonal trees in the city. They show up just fine after a couple of months. I am not sure which files you would need. The two places where the barren area pops up are the "Fountain Park Farm" and the "Maze Park". I attached the *.sc4lot The problem with some of them turning partially black (see picture 2 above), seems to appear and disappear randomly. It could be the same lots, I will watch them. Thanks for helping! I-r6_4x4_CAM_Fountain Park_d3676c69.SC4Lot I-r6_4x4_CAM_Maze Park_33676cd9.SC4Lot

Hi Tyberius, thanks for your quick reply. I had actually used the new BSC Common Dependencies Pack and ran the Cleanitol. So following your advice I did the same again: first run the Master Remove List (no obsolete items found) and then installed the 1.6GB again. Somehow it did not help the issue with the farms (but apparently and issue I had with the Pantsdowne Peroxide Plant that did not show before either). The farms still look the same. In my plugins folder (in the subfolder "BSC") I can see the following files: BSC Textures Vol01.dat (under "BSCTextures") BSC Textures Vol02.dat (under "BSCTextures") BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol01.dat (under "BSCProps") BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol02.dat (under "BSCProps") There also seems to be no duplication as I cannot find another file (in my plugins folder) with the same name. Am I missing something? Thanks, Deemer

Hello, after years I am finally returning to SimCity 4 including CAM. Installation and all the plugins worked quite well, but I seem to be having an issue with some CAM Farms. They sometimes have a black background (see picture) or look quite barren. I am guessing I am missing a texture or similiar. Can anyone explain me how to check what is missing? Some examples of text when I click on the farms/fields: IR6 Fountain Park swi21 (seems to be missing the building/fountain...) BLS Farm Fields Forests 1 (or 2 or 3) BLS GA Farm Field - Pasture I probably have most dependencies still on my hard-drive, but do not know where to look. Any help would be welcome. Tanks, Deemer
