I've been following the creation of Cities XL from the beginning. As a long time SimCity fan I was soooooo excited with anticipation that we were finally gonna get the SimCity that we all wanted. My computer took a crap on me a year ago. I got a new "kicking" machine now. But I wanted to wait to load back SimCity cause it would take me so long to download everything again (i.e. mods, buildings, etc). I waited because I knew Cities XL was coming out. In the beginning it sounded like these people (MC) were one of us. Not even close. I have no interest playing a game for a monthly fee on the interenet. If the game was a major "WOW effect", I might have thought about it. I lke playing SimCity alot. But it's not the only game I play. I play SimCitiy for a couple of months and then take a break from it and play other games for a one or two months. So if I were to sign up for Cities XL I would be out that money for the months that I don't play the game. That's just crazy. While Cities XL has some components that I would like in SimCity for the most part it is a totally different game. I feel just like I did whem they came out with SimSociety. Not an improved SimCity. Somebody out there PLEASE give us the SimCity that we want. As of today I will be re-downloading everything for SimCity. I feel like I have been lied to, misled, and I am homestly sadden again. I'm 49 years old.... I 'ld rather give that monthly fee to Simtropolis (which is the only internet site that I have ever donated to).

I've got a lot that I can't bulldoze. It's a commercial parking lot. I tried laying the identical lot all around it and deleting. Nope. I tried terraforming. Nope. I tried zoning and dezoning. Nope. I tried taking it out of the plugins. Nope. I tried natural disasters. Nope. I know if I nuke the city that will work. But I got 2 days of work on this city and for me personally it's starting out to be one of my best cities yet. I don't want to blow it up. Has anyone found another solution to this?

I've been playing mostly Civ4 until about 2 months ago when I got back into SimCity. Games I go back to from time to time are: Blitzkreig Roller Coaster Tycoon Zoo Tycoon Caesar IV (It was a disappointment) Take Command (Civil game, very good) Patrician III (still love this one) Anno 1602 Pacific General Panzer General Cleopatra (or Pharoahs) Age of Empires (disappointing since Age of Kings) Stronghold (Still luv this one waiting on an expansion)

SC4BOY......You hit the nail on the head for me. I was thinking the same thing with the "EyeCandy" CJs. Do they really work? Balloon_Man.... Yes I meant each section as a city/tile. The only cheat I use other then the NAM is the "ClickforCash" cheat. I like to build and don't want to wait for my economy to catch up. It does eventually. I've just spent about 30 hours on a new city. I'm gonna do what I do all of the time........Blow it up..and start over. I'm never satisfied with the results. But one reason for this, I'm sure, is that I was trying to combine the "GAME" with the "EYECANDY" of CJs. That just does not work. I want a functional city that looks reasonably realistic.

I've seen sooo many CJs that are so great. I am envious to no end. I can only hope to be that creative. With that said, I decided not to worry about being creative and just start playing again. A few questions I need to get answered. I've been wondering about these questions for years. Yes silly me. Time I bit the bullet and just went ahead and asked. You start a city in "Regional Play" say in the center of the map. I've seen CJs where it seems that the streets/highways/rails are all seemless from section to section. Do you plan for this from the beginning? Do you need or do people usually build all of the services in all of the sections? Meaning schools/libraries/universities and Minor/Major League Stadiums. Also do you build an Airport in each section? I know someone will tell me it depends on what you are doing. But I'ld like to get an answer beyond that.
