  1. So what you do think?

Nice work people and I like the forums. But please re-think the Stex, it is a big disapointment. How on earth are you supposed to quickly judge if a Bat is to your taste with such small pictures? Sorry folks but I'm with Madhatter106 on this one. When and if the site is ever up-graded to vesion 8 would it not be a good idea to show some pre-view pictures of the new look so that this sort of reaction could be avoided? Don't get me wrong I am very appreciative of all the hard work and congradulate all those involved in the transfer over to version 7.

  6. My first BAT

Try Ctrl + prt sc or on some laptops its Fn + prt Sc . If you have Windows 7 you could use the snipping tool.

Everyone is going to vote for all 3 of your choices...lol, and I am know you would do them justice. I'm sure you don't need telling but never be tempted go for a quick turn-around alone you may take a look at your work later and think "if only i'd done that" and regret it. A good Bat takes time something that you have shown you can give. (sorry didn't mean to sound patronising here). On the subject of lighting Zero7 gave a pretty good explanation of how he does his lighting in my thread. Follow the link below it was very useful to me. Regards Mntoes

Very nice work. I honestly like the marble steps and would keep them. Can we have a night view please?
  9. The ST 6.0 Department of Technical Affairs

Hello all, Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this problem in but I have not seen any threads reporting an error on the Simtropolis website. When I try to access certain threads in the forums I keep getting th efollowing error. This happens on more than one computer. I can't even post in my own thread. It seems to occur at the start of a new page. I just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing the same problem? Are admins aware of this prtoblem. Regards Mntoes

Simply sunning. The quality of the work shows all the effort taken to make this beauty. Thank you so much, it's been interesting watching this been made.

SimFox Thanks for that explanaion I often wondered about that.
  12. A number of issues

Have you downloaded and installed the SC4 Update for bat. That is for the lighting to work in-game I think. Hope that helps. Mntoes

  14. Exporting error

https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=37&threadid=87425&enterthread=y&STARTPAGE=2 Error code 6 is mentioned in this thread. Do a more thorough search and you'll probably get your answer. Hope this helps.
  15. Harishna's BATs

This is turning out to be a great bat. You might want to re-size your pictures though maximum size is 800 x 600.
  16. Thingfishs' BATs

Yes I agree I would be tempted to change the name of that business. As stated it could be seen as very offencive in the UK. Kind of reminds me of when I went to America and saw "The Athlete's foot" (Sports retailer). It obviously does not have the same meaning as in th UK where Athletes foot is a fungal infection of the feet....lol Funny how we all speak English but it's not really the same language somtimes.
  17. NTM's BAT Workshop II

That's really not bad at all. The blue colour looks a little bit too violet for my liking but otherwise well done.
  18. Thank you once again Jason. I feel like a real doubting Thomas now. I'ts good (bad ) to know that someone else has the same problem.
  19. Thanks for the suggestion Jason. I tried rendering on a better machine but still the same effect. I'm now slowly re -making the model by saving selected pats and merging them into a new scene. I'll see what happens. I am now convinced it's something to do with a corrupt file as the now half re-made model renders ok. (if that make sence). Thanks for the help anyway. Worth a try.
  20. Can anyone help with this problem? I have re-exported this model. Re-fitted the lods. Saved and merged the building into a new scene. Reset the lights, lods and cameras and finally re instaled Gmax with the texture fix. but still I get this on export. The strange thing is it appears only on this side of the render now, whereas it apeared on two sides before i saved part of it and merged it into a new scene? What is causing these dark marks????

You could try the extra cheats DLL from the stex. That should work I think. https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=21118 The command you want to use is "lotplop" regards Mntoes
  22. McDRye tries BAT again..

Welcome back. I wondered where you had gone. The lucky penny looks great.
  23. Mntoes - UK housing project
