The Fisher Body Plant by SimHoTToDDy () The Coleman & Sons Distribution by marcszar (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=973) The Domino Sugar Plant by marcszar (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1408) Gratiot Motors by nofunk () EDIT If you need it "bigger" you can try the vw automotive factory by jestarr (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2578) MAybe it would be easier to just throw in your plugins an industry multiplier mod such as by bones1 or industry quadrupler by toroca Thank you both for the suggestions. I wasn't aware of the industry doubler and quadrupler mods. Those alone will probably help a great deal.

I need some recommendations for industrial buildings that provide a lot of jobs. All wealth levels. Thanks.

As I see, yes they are Murimk's props. But I just read all the documentation that came with them, and it didn't say anything at all about omitting them from the Plugins folder.
-
Okay, I have a related question...not trying to hijack the thread. I've downloaded some custom plugins that listed certain prop packs as dependencies. So how come they show up in my Parks menu as something I can plop? I'm talking about stuff like this:

Not a problem. Those charts kinda have the lot sizes mixed up a bit. For instance, in chart #1 it only goes up to 4x4. You have to scroll down to the other charts before you find references to 6x6, etc. So I understand. The game can be a bit complex. I rarely have problems getting high-wealth Sims because I tend to cheat and add a lot of money to my budget that allows me to place the stuff necessary to get high-wealth Sims. But if you're playing straight up without cheats, it can be tricky...and it will take a while. There are some general tips for getting high-wealth Sims, and MoarTriangle touched on some. You need to make sure the desirability of your zones is high, and that involves different things like placing adequate schools, libraries, parks, hospitals, adequate power and water coverage, adequate police and fire coverage, making sure there is no garbage, reducing pollution, enacting the right ordinances, setting the right tax rates, and placing your residential zones in a manner which allows your Sims to have easy access to commercial zones, recreational areas, and ideally they should not be located adjacent to industrial zones. You also need to make sure they aren't complaining about long commutes, so that involves placing the proper roads/mass transit networks. It's a lot to remember when trying to grow your cities. I presume your game is updated to at least version 1.1.638, correct? If not, you're going to want to do that in order to take advantage of the majority of custom content you'll find for the game. You should also consider installing the NAM to help correct some problems with the game. As for how to know when your city is at a certain stage, there is a guide for that somewhere. I've seen it before, but can't recall exactly where it's at. I'll see if I can locate it and post a link to it. Or someone else might come along and do that if they happen to know where it is. EDIT: Here ya' go.... http://www.wiki.sc4devotion.com/index.php?title=Tutorial:Stage_Limits_and_Threshholds

Well, then, I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. If you go to this link (the same one I offered in the other thread), you'll see a comprehensive series of 20 charts that explicitly show which of the standard Maxis buildings will grow in any given zone. It lists the stage at which each building will grow, what it's wealth level is, and the lot size. You said you wanted a "guide that showed me all possible buildings that could grow in every zoning type, from skyscrappers to small buildings". There you go. It's right there in those charts I linked to. For all other custom content, you have to rely on the information provided by the creator. There are custom buildings which grow at a whole range of sizes, but it would be pretty much impossible to provide a comprehensive list for all custom content. If I'm misunderstanding your question, then please clarify for me.

I made a post about this just the other day. Maybe it will help you. It's post #2 in this thread:

Okay, overlook the odd location for a roundabout at the moment, and please tell me how to get rid of these confounded sidewalks that show up intermittently along my avenues and next to the roundabouts. Is there a mod I can install to get rid of them?
-
This intersection doesn't even exist anymore. I made my initial post back in November, and have completely tweaked that whole section of the city I was working on. It's no longer an issue. But thanks anyway, guys.
-
Double check to see if your version has been updated anyway. If you don't know how to find it, follow the instructions I highlighted in blue in post #2 above. Let us know what it says.

Just upped our forecast. Now we're supposed to get 8-10". Cool! I'm a snow lover. It could snow in the middle of Summer (North America) and I'd be happy. Watch what you wish for. Of all things for my part of the state to gain worldwide recognition for...I live in Butler County, where this is happening: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2013/03/cold-prosecutor-indicts-punxsutawney-phil-for-fraud/ Of course, he's kidding. But he should speak for himself when he says he thinks the community is tired of winter and wants it over with. I love winter. It can stay cold until July for all I care.

Where do you put the files at that you download for buildings in the game files on the computer?
lhrob replied to soloe 32's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Welcome to Simtropolis! (Nice avatar...looks like a recording studio...got those headphones on. Are you someone famous who we might recognize? ) It would probably help tremendously for you to read through these threads: If you have any further questions, feel free to ask anyone. We will strive to give you the best answers we can. -
I had the game a long time ago, but I just reinstall it after 5 years Okay, I was just curious. If you had recently purchased it as a download off the internet, it would already be fully patched. But nevermind. Anyway, read my response to your previous post below... Actually, you have those in the wrong order. You're going to want to install the "Part 2" patch first, and then install the one you have labeled as "Part 1".

Supposed to get about 6" of snow tomorrow night where I live...southwest Ohio. Bring it on!

Nic727, how long have you had your game? Where did you purchase it from?

I know there is an automata controller in the NAM, but the mod I recommended is a modified version of that. However, I'm not familiar with any changes that may have been made to the controller included with NAM V31. (I'm still using V30.) So by all means, if it is the same as the mod I linked to, then go with the NAM's version. No point in downloading what would amount to a redundant option. EDIT: Wait a second....Nonny, are you saying the Persistent Automata Mod I linked to requires the JRE from Sun?

Can anyone direct me to a chart or list of...
lhrob replied to yoge123's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
If you look at those charts I linked to, they do indeed give you the information you need. On the right side of the chart, it lists the lot size needed for each building to grow on. But as a general rule, you're going to want a high-density zone of anywhere between 4x4 - 6x6 for the tallest buildings to grow on. -
Welcome to Simptropolis! Is your game updated to at least version 1.1.638...? If not, before you do anything else, you'll need to look at this page: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?page=7 You'll need to be at version 1.1.638 before you can use any of the custom content or mods we recommend for you. To find the game's version, you'll need to navigate to the Programs folder where you have the game installed on your hard drive (will probably be in Programs x86 if you have Windows 7), find the Maxis folder and look inside for the Apps folder. Then open it and look for the SimCity4.exe icon. Right click on it, select Properties, then click on the Details tab. You'll see the game version listed there. For some of the options you're seeking, you'll find a number of different mods. It's truly a matter of personal preference. So don't be surprised if people respond with a number of different recommendations. The first plugin you will need is the That will include options for the curved roads and dirt roads that you are interested in. Right off hand, I see you want a mod that will keep vehicles from disappearing. That would be the I'll have to look at the rest of your list and update my post a bit later. In the meantime, I'm sure there will be other members who will offer you their suggestions.

Is there anyway to have buildings face diagonaly
lhrob replied to yoge123's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
No. Any buildings which face a diagonal have to be custom made, and there are a number of custom plugins available which feature diagonal-facing lots. You can rotate buildings, of course, by pressing the home or end key on your keyboard, but they only rotate in 90° increments. But there is no mod which will allow a standard Maxis lot to be plopped, or grow, at a 45° angle. -
running Sim City 4 is causing ENTIRE computer to freeze
lhrob replied to ReshiramLover's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Are you merely venting, or are you looking for help? You haven't given us anything to go on. But obviously the problem has nothing to do with Simcity 4, so based on the assumption you're still using the same computer you did before, what changes have you made to your system? -
Can I make a city with no roads but with only public transit and is it bad?
lhrob replied to gd6noob's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I'm glad to be reading the truth about buses. All this time I thought they relieved congestion by carrying multiple passengers, but to hear they are basically just "faster cars", it's really disheartening. I feel like ripping out every bus stop in my town. -
Larryparadise, the zipped file itself does NOT need to be inside the Plugins folder after you unzip it. In fact, I don't even download the zipped files into my Plugins. I save them to a separate folder on my desktop and selectively pull out the files I know need to go in the Plugins folder. Even if it's an .exe file that comes with its own installer, I first install it to a folder on my desktop and then transfer the relevant files into my Plugins folder. So to answer your question, you only copy and paste the files which have the following extensions: .dat .dll .sc4desc .sc4lot .sc4Model

Trains look like 1 small green car? Trains don't work!
lhrob replied to Seanbenn's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
The little green rail checker doesn't bother me. I'm not sure why people get upset by seeing it. BUT....everyone's different. Something to bear in mind is that your freight is going to take the fastest and most direct route out of your city. If you have road connections to your neighboring cities, and those connections are close to the industrial zone, then the freight will leave by truck - therefore you won't see much rail usage, and thus you won't see the train automata. I think the same principle applies to passenger rail, but I'm not sure. -
It's not just you. Everyone is getting the same message. I've been getting it for a few days now.
