  1. I buy the games I choose to own, I don't rent them- which is exactly what a *subscription* boils down to being. I much prefer the pay-per-optional-EP route (as I am free to pick & choose what I might want to add) instead of the pay-for-the-game-and-any-EPs-and-the-ability-to-keep-playing-it plan, which sadly appears to be where things are heading in the world of PC gaming.
  2. Crater Lake

^ Ditto ^ Is the idea to 1st create a new region, then exit the game & swap config files, or has something gone whacky with the link?
  3. Post Modding Requests Here

Well I have tried searching here, at SimPeg, at SimCity Devotion & the internet in general (Google) have turned up squat, so here goes nothing: Is there any chance of a DAT version of Buggi's Legalized Gambling Ordinance mod? The mod is on the last page (24) of the SC4 Modd downloads section & is still in KBI format (requiring a utility I can no longer find, plus I don't relish the idea of overwriting any game core-files) & while I saw where someone on this site made a DAT version of a KBI "Clean Air" mod, I could find no sign of any such a conversion for Buggi's gambling one. Buggi's mod appeals to me more than the newer "no-crime" Gambling mod as it seems more *realistic* to me...but if I can't get it in DAT format, I guess that's moot. (Very sorry if this has been asked/answered before- but I couldn't find anything in my searching.)
  4. RH Rewards Unlock

^ ditto ^ Honestly, if you don't understand something's purpose and/or don't want it in your game then just don't download it. There are many, many mods/etc out there that leave me scratching my head, but it has never occured to me to put down/make fun off people who like/use them. I for one am happy to see a *short cut* for that ridiculously obnoxious code! Thanks for this!
  5. My thoughts exactly. I have no qulams about a game like SimCity (or any other game) having a multi-player option, so long as a single player mode exists as well. I play games to *escape* from RL & to me multi-player gaming is NOT escaping, it's being thrown head first into an arena full of angry bees (aka "12-year-olds-with-no-parental-supervision") & being forced to dress as a flower. (Opinionated? Me? Surely you jest...) I much prefer *sharing* the gaming experiance via pictures/stories/blogs/etc, rather than one-on-one. That said, I am sure there will be many folks for whom "SimCity Multi-Player" is a dream come true & that's cool. I however shall remain happily non-social. (Dang you kids! Get off my lawn!! Don't make me let the dogs out!)
  6. Introduce Yourself Here!

Well, the thread-tittle says to introduce myself here & I'm not one to argue with such things, so here goes nothing: I am a long-time city building fan (Emperor, Children of the Nile, etc) & serious Sims 2 addict who just got around to installing SC4 DLX about a month ago simply because it's the only way for me to make/edit maps for my dearly beloved Sims 2. As map-editing was the one & only reason I installed the game, I initially had zero intentions for knowing/learning much of anything about it save for what I needed to make & edit my TS2 maps...but first I needed to make sure it was installed/running right, so I needed to launch it...and playing through the tutorials seemed harmless enough, so I clicked on the first tutorial city...and, well... Long story short, I quickly discovered that world of custom content (which I am well familar with in TS2) & have been having a blast tricking out my game with all kinds of cool new goodies- which is what lead me to create accounts on a couple SC4 sites, including this one...which is what brought me to this introduce yourself thread. While TS2 is still my true obsession, SC4 is proving to be a most excellent diversion & I just wanted to say thanks for all the nifty goodies- & a special thanks to CapitalCity who managed to get my registration out of limbo, alowing me to annoy you folks with this pointless post. (Also sorry for any syntax/spelling errors. For whatever reason FF's spell-checker doesn't seem to work on this site, so I fear my dyslexia is free to do as it pleases!)
