Those of you who are apprehensive or negative about SimCity
Clonk posted a topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Need to chill. I've watched the video now about 10 times, and all I could think of was FINALLY, finally finally finally a new Sim City. 10 years on. We come here and play SC4 because it's one of the greatest games ever made, and the community is a strong dedicated community. THAT's why we're all still here. We survived Sim City Societies, Cities XL, and everything else that never compared to this great game, and just over the horizon, there's a light. and I am looking forward to that light getting much brighter in the coming year. Be patient, wait for more information, stop assuming the game is going to be a disappointment, because the people who loved SC2000 thought SC4 sucked and look where we are. Be well.- 15 Replies

Bought it the day it was released in 2003 at (then) EB Games. Played it for years. Even saved the downloads from EA and here from way back. A friend just started playing, got me interested and hee I am playing again. I enjoy playing my old friend. I am happy all of this is still here.

Does it really freeze? Maybe you are missing some run-time libraries. Do you have .NET framework 1.1, which is required? You can download it from Microsoft free. You are actually entering an area of programming. It is never simple, and it has a serious learning curve. What are you trying to do? Maybe there are other solutions. I hope you read and understood both the download page and the readme. I found LEProp, does what I need it to do. Not compicated, and game hacking isn't programming, it's hacking. Take care.

I ran as administrator, tried compatibility to WIN XP SP2, freezes. This can't be this hard to find a simple tool, I don't want to USE this one.

Several. If you are not a programmer, I suggest the SC4 Tool. If you want to get down on the iron and scratch, check in the STEX for the Reader by ilive. Well, it freezes in WIN7 64 bit. Isn't there something simple, not a full toolbox to change every aspect of the game. Isn't there something simple?? Sorry, but a tool with 12 choices isn't simple. I want to open a lot, look at the jobs/cost/plop value and maybe change them, that's all.
