  1. Can you Accept me into the Community?

    Welcome to Simtropolis!
  2. Monorail and Subway

Basically, subways are land-efficient. Their generic stations are 1x1 tiles, they are totally underground otherwise, and they are moderately fast and efficient. Monorails are speed-efficient. They are more attractive than subways and quicker, but take up land as would a rail line. In addition, their generic stations are 1x3 tiles.
  3. Presidential Trivia

Presidential Trivia The game of all presidents trivial in nature Welcome to Presidential Trivia! Inspired by a book I recently read, this game will focus on trivia questions about those most famous of Americans - the Presidents! From George W to George Dubya, 1789 to 1989, find out the things you never knew about the Chief Executives while guessing away at Presidential Trivia. I'll try to make most of the answers non-Google-friendly. I figure you all know the rules (no spamming, only 1 guess/post, you can post whenever I post). Each question is worth 1 point. Occassionally there will be a Lightning question, which is worth 2 points (!). Got it? Good. Then without further ado, here comes Question #1! Leaderboard 1. DragonAnime <> 2 1. Masher <> 1 1. 4. Presidential Trivia

Congratulations, GrandCentralParkway. Bess Truman mailed her laundry back home to Missouri every week to have it washed.. GrandCentralParkway + 1 Question 11 Which president, the only known to acknowledge his favorite color being fuschia, was also the first to have a library in the White House? Also, allow me to plug for my other forum games, Mystery City: World 3 (unposted-in since July 30), and Mystery Skyscraper (Sept. 2), which all offer barrels worth of monkeys of fun at the super-cheap price of $0.
  5. Mystery City: Europe

Nobody is right yet, but keep looking. Simwario's guess of Leibnitz was very close. This city is located in the Austrian state of Steiermark. Also, please allow me to take this opportunity to plug my other forum games, especially Mystery City: World 3 , which has not been guessed in since July 30, and Mystery Skyscraper , dead since September 2.
  6. guidelines Forum Game Rules

Just thought I'd pop in here and mention that since Dalai has unfortunately had to leave us, I will be moderating forum games with hello_SC4 in his place. PM either of us if you have questions/concerns/comments/feel like shooting the breeze.
  7. Picture war!

Please remember to refrain from posting political images here.
  8. how to download region

When you download the map, make sure you download the Config.bmp (bmp = bitmap) with it. The STEX lists them side by side. Go to the download box for San Diego at this location: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=5718 You must download both the map (left side) and the config.bmp (right side). The config.bmp tells the game the makeup of each region in relation to what size cities are in it. Once both are downloaded, it should work.
  9. Seasons

Some blowing leaves would look good, and snowfall when it's winter! That would look really good.
  10. Avenue Overhead Sign

    Wow great work!
  11. Mystery City: Europe

Try looking for this city south of Vienna and east of Klagenfurt.
  12. I edited the thread title a little to reflect the question in the thread.
  13. Super Center 1

    Very cool!
  14. Copper Corp

    Oh I really like this.
  15. large city

The Omnibus also has tutorials on how to build cities quickly. The ones by thy451 are especially good.
  16. Mystery City: Europe

Considering that it's been a month since the last guess, I suppose you need a clue. This city is not Linz, but it is located east of the border with Italy's easternmost point. In other words, it's east of around Villach, Austria.
  17. We need more Forum Gamers!

I think the problem with the forum games is that there is just so much of the same thing. The Avatar Above Me. The Signature Above Me. The Picture Above Me. The Member Label Above Me. What Voice Do You Hear With The Avatar Above You? Honest Thing About the Person Above You. The Screen Name Above Me. And so on and so forth. Not to say that it's bad, but the only games that really get a lot of support are the ones that are really new and original. Picture War. Mystery Building. And so on and so forth.
  18. I have some questions

I am moving this thread to New Member Information, as it falls more under that category.
  19. RSS Feed

I was wondering the exact same thing...
  20. NDEX Hearst Tower by Superstar and DuskTrooper

The Queen City would be proud.
  21. The Simtropolis Annuarians Club

Updated as of today (Sept. 22)!
  22. Neo-Precious Architecture

I am pretty sure he means things like French, Italian, and Spanish Revivalism, Neoclassicism, etc. Liek when people try to make new things look old. I agree. New Orleans today is the best opportunity for urban design we've ever had. I sure hope we don't waste it.
  23. Alternate History Architecture

Spain is a lot like that too. Seeing as how they were under a fascist government until 1975, much of the newer parts of Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, and the large cities reflect a modernist, urbanist design that I abhor. It is interesting though because it's living history.
  24. United States Trivia!

Hmmm...I was going to guess California but since it's already taken I am going to guess Delaware.
  25. Buildings are Boxes

Many files downloaded from the Simtropolis Exchange are dependant on other files to run. These dependencies must also be installed on the computer for it to work. Go back to the window you originally downloaded the lot from and check for dependencies.
