  2. Maybury Region

UPDATE 6. Thank you all for your comments! Today I made a small community to show you how I build from the base. This town is called Crestwater and is located to the east of West Chester. It has about 8,000 inhabitants and consists mostly of med. residential buildings and shops (no industry). Well Here are the pictures! ENJOY! Picture 6.1 -As you can see i have built the transportation system and the city layout. Still much to do! Picture 6.2 -Now the layout is finished, and I have plopped down the vital services of a community, like doctors office, police stations and so on... Picture 6.3 -People have moved in and I have made the city a bit more nicer with lots of trees and plants. Picture 6.4 -A closeup of this nice little town (Sorry about that stupid UDI thingy in the right corner, i normally turn the indicators off)... Well that was all for today, I think, hehe... Please place yor comments below, it's always nice to get comments and helpful tips! See you around! + here a bunny to all of you who place a comment!
  3. Split Buildings

Hey, very interesting thread. I love split buildings, and I have always been facinated by one in Oslo, Norway where the Freeway running into the city is built under a commercial area. Looks very cool when you drive and the road just dissapears under a building, love it. As a matter of fact, did you know that Norway is the country with the most tunnels in the world! The country isn't that big either! I think we have the deepest tunnel too... -Then to a other subject. I saw some of your SBI wallpapers and thought that it was a pitty that you haven't made them for 19 monitors! (1600x1200). Nothing beats playing SC4 on a bigger screen! Well, keep it up, and I'll try and find some pictures of that building in Oslo.

Date: 3/27/2005 9:43:55 AM Author: dhoppeii I really like your city.  It looks packed together and very dense, but at the same time has an open feeling about it.  Not sure if that makes sense, but is definately a good thing.  Keep up the great work, look forward to seeing more...quote> Oh man, you are so right, it does make sense cause that is the way I constuct my cities. When I start making Maybury City, You'll get to see me build, and then you'll see that you are 100% very absolutely right!
  5. Japanese Breakwaters by NACM

Date: 3/26/2005 3:32:52 PM Author: SC4 meister *hits self for not seeing this CJ yet* Woah looking good. I love it, now for my questions: The power plant is that all one huge custom lot or is it several right next to each other, and what is that 'X' shaped building in the first pic of this update? I will be back, keep up the great work! Hehe, thank you so much for your comments! The Powerplant consists of several powerplants next to each other, I think you can get them on the STEX, but one of them may be from a Japanese site. The nuclear powerplant with the two chimneys is the in-game lot. Now to the X shaped building. I think I found that on the STEX too, a long time a go. It is a small University building... Here is a link to the Uni building: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=2665 Well sorry couldn't find those powerplants for you, but I'll try and find their names in-game.
  8. Maybury Region

Petriknl: Hehe thanks! Always delighted to see someone that appriciate my work! sloppet: Thanks for dropping by again, and thanks for the comment, but this update will be even better! SICK isn't it? jeronij: Wow, thanks. Yeah I like building like that, and from what I have seen of your CJ, you do too! LakeTrash311: Yeah, that one came pretty much randomly, wasn't planned, but it turned out great! Thanks! ------------------------ Here are some facts about West Chester before I show you some fresh pictures of the downtown: Population: 96,405 Jobs provided: Commercial jobs: 28,768 Industrial jobs: 31,194 Residential average income: 81,000 Life expectancy: 78 years -As you might understand, my sims are having a great time living in West Chester! But now, THE PICTURES OF WEST CHESTER DOWNTOWN AND WATERFRONT! This Avenue runs through the innercity, and this area is probably the most attractive area for residents, but prices are high! As you can see there is a innercity rail line for bussy sims who don't like to get stuck in the rush. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The downtown area with some trains running through it's bussy core. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a well know place for tourists visiting West Chester. The park behind the city hall is a perfect place for a nice cup of coffe! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the city harbour with lots of tourists, and residents of West Chester who like to chill out and ejoy the fresh air. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That was it for today, have fun tonight! Parteeeeeeyyy!

Date: 3/26/2005 6:51:13 AM Author: I-will-crush-u Very Nice city. That Nuclear Plant looks cool. (and I also seen you have a solar plant... don't hide it from me!)quote> -hehe thanks, yeah that is true, forgot about it... Sorry about the grid though, I'll definatly turn it off next time!
  12. Maybury Region

Well here is another small update, these are pictures from yesterday, but I probably will show some from today after I have played a bit more... -This is the area of West Chester docks and industrial area. It supplies the city with everything it needs and a littlebit more . West Chester is more or less a Hi-tech city with hundreds of buisnesses, and most of them are located around the docks and in the southern parts of the industrial area. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- align=baseline> -This is the nuclear powerplant facility wich provides the city of West Chester with enough Mega Watts to lighten up all of it's residents, and the future Maybury City. -HOW many are that? -Well heh, I don't know quite frankly, but it's around 80,000. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- align=baseline> -This is a picture of upper West Chester, outside the city centre. This is a great area to start a buisness, and it is a popular place to live because of the good and safe enviroment. -Located in the upper left corner you can see parts of the West Chester car factory. The brand is called Ergo Tronic and they build hi-tech parts for cars. They also build their own cars, but they are either powered by batteries or hydrogen. This facility employs around 14,000 people and is the biggest buisness in West Chester. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS! My pictures are offsite so I use as little of the ST bandwith as possible. Please consider this too! I recommend www.photobucket.com .

  23. Otranto - European City of Culture

Very nice. Looks pretty european, the only thing that would make it more realistic would be if you made the city much wider. European citys are not built in the hight u kno, and also farms, lots and lots of small farms would make it perfect! well keep it up!
