  1. I wouldn't say it's normal for AAA titles to get a price reduction so quickly, Skyrim was at full price for at least six months and plenty of good games released months ago are still at full price, Borderlands 2, Dishonored, Far Cry 3. Price drop is just trying to goad people into buying this game despite all it's criticisms and honestly, $40 is what it should've been at launch, it was so not a $60 game.
  2. He says at the end that NAM adds curved roads but unless I missed something in the six years I played SC4 it doesn't. Overall I agree that game journalists are very superficial and general about their reviews, most reviews of SimCity don't even touch on the problems the community has brought up, the stuff you would only notice when you try to maximize or build a city as efficiently as possible. It happened with Diablo 3, most reviewers seemingly didn't even bother to play late game or they would've notice the horribly imbalanced classes and broken game mechanics after max level that Blizzard is still trying to fix. And it happens with a lot of games.
  3. Free Game?

Gimmick or not, I am actually impressed by the games they're giving away and with the CEO of EA stepping down today it almost kinda seems like EA is trying attempting to turn over a new leaf.
  4. So did the people who donated get their money back or is Brandon Smith rolling in it right now and laughing?
  5. I'm starting to think cheetah isn't even possible. Either their servers can't handle it or the game can't run accurate simulations at that speed. The game is SO slow without it.
  6. It's because the population display is deceptive. There's strong evidence the game puts in phantom population, agents that don't really do anything but add to the total population count. It explains why people get need more workers message and why such a small percentage of the population works. The truth about population.
  7. I've been on their forums and there's hardly anything about the team or the game itself. There's a meet the team thread that has no information. Brandon Smith posted about his experience, about 3 years making mobile games and he's suppose to be leading this game?! Then he talks about some guy named Mark George, generic name much, who has no experience making games. This just has scam and vaporware written all over it.
  8. I have no problem casting off this iteration of SimCity if they don't continue to support it and fix it's glaring problems but I will think twice about buying another game from Maxis or EA. I would also recomment taking caution abou that Civitas project. I had a conversation about it on a different site and there's just too little information about that game to warrant a pledge. There's no information on their team, their homepage is just a countdown timer, and all their doing seems to be the opposite of what SimCity did; there are already city sims games that do that SC4, Tropico, and Cities XL. If there not going to push the genre forward or add something unique it's not worth it.
  9. The main issue is that there's only one way in and out of the city, it's essentially a choke point that everyone tries to get through and it's not enough. I've had this problem myself, highways being backed up for miles because there isn't enough ramps in and out of the city to accomdate the traffice. Add on to that AI that drives around in circles and sits there during green light and you get terrible gridlock.
  10. Plenty of games sell better on PC than their console ports despite their piracy. I think witcher 2 was the most pirated game last year and it still sold very well. Most games in year end lists of most pirated games often sell well because their good games. Make a good game and it will sell despite piracy.
  11. Discussion about City Tile Size

Have you guys seen the minimum specs? They're sooo old. Dual core and five year old graphic cards. Quad core is pretty much standard in all computers nowadays and you can find good deals on graphic cards all over. If they're screwing over people with half decent computers just so anyone and absolutly everyone can play this game they're doing it at the expense of the quality of the game.
