  1. Show us your Downtown!

^^^ Looks awesome, how'd you get all the STEX stuff to light up? I know there is something you have to download, but I can't find it anymore! But yeah, great stuff.
  2. Show us your Downtown!

@Srawldaddy: That looks really good, I like how you've incorperated a large highway into your urban core. A lot of times thats difficult without it looking weird. I also think you did a good job spacing out the buildings. Looks great.
  3. How is NAM's Ground Light Rail meant to be used?

I use the GLR as a regular rail. A lot of cities in the southern US are building light rails as their train network to service the metropolitan regions. I do the same thing with Sim City. Look at Houston and Dallas for example. They are good examples because they have used Light Rails to connect their region.
  4. Powell Volcanic Area - East Crater

That is really neat! I wouldn't have thought to make rocks volcanic cinders!
  5. Three World Trade Center

Very clean, realistic and a great addition! Awesome job!
  6. Riverside Beach Mod

Perfect! Thats just what I needed! Great job!
  7. Traffic Light Mod

I've been looking for a topic that was discussing traffic lights and their placement. This one appears a bit old, but hopefully we can bring some new life to it, as long as there hasn't already been a new topic created somewhere else--if so I can't find it! Anyway I was doing some internet browsing trying to get some ideas and I stumbled across this picture: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2f/Haciendapleasantontrafficlights.jpg Pretty interesting I thought, I wonder if we could do something like that for SC? I'm not really requesting it rather just getting peoples take on it, because it is a bit different and looks nice.
  8. New Plans

Very nice, does that highway have any ramps near downtown or is it more or less just a bypass?
  9. I am really terrible when it comes to attempting to create things with the computer. I would really like to build a region in Southern New Mexico: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=32.094791,-104.067307&spn=0.308884,0.615921&t=h&z=11 I am not sure how I can do it though. I want it to be made with the rivers and landscape how it is in reality. It would be perfect if the region was all large tiles. It would be ideal if it was 6 large tiles high and 7 large tiles across. If you are interested in helping me, I can answer any other questions you have. PM me or just post below. This would be really helpful and great! Thanks
  10. Chemeketa: McCabe Street Extension

Looks awesome! I love your focus on transit networks. That is my favorite part of the game!
  11. Warraby West

I like your Parkway, it gives the town a very suburban feel, I use that term loosly because I suppose the word suburban is more of a perception thing. In any case, looks neat! Also, where did you get the streets? The edges are more curved and I like that, they look more realistic.
  12. Update 3: Glenn Harbor

Looks great! Has a very strong Pacific Northwest feel and great job on the highways!
  13. BAT Request Thread

Yeah, College Station is a perfect example. I was just pointing to these particular lights in Garland because they are so new and they do give a city a very clean look. But, College Station has had them a while I guess--moral of the story, the city looks good with them!
  14. Show us your Riverside, Lakeside, or Oceanside

io_bg: Thats looks so cool. I like your last picture, how close your city is to the water, it reminds me a bit of Galveston, TX. If you look, its beaches are very small and the city is practically right on the water. I love it!
  15. BAT Request Thread

Modern Traffic Lights You can find this image on Google Maps, check out the intersections of the George Bush Turnpike and Christ Road and GBT and Firewheel Parkway in Garland TX. Description: The request if for new black traffic posts and signals to be created. The lights are very new and modern looking with a glossy black finish. The arm extended over the road will not only have a horizonal traffic signal mounted to it, but also a road sign. The traffic posts would be made to be fitted on roads, avenues, and NWM material. Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: These new traffic posts and signals would be great to give more life to a city or region. The new posts would provide more options for the player and allow the player to have greater control over the looks of their city. It would work best if the new posts replaced the old, meaning they are rendered as soon as a road is built rather than a plop. These could be used to revitalize a city or give the feeling of urban sprawl in a suburban or rural area. For those of us who live in the suburbs, ya'll know how good the new black traffic lights looks!
  16. Facts, History, and Information

Awesome, I LOVE DALLAS! Almost every city I make some how incorperates parts of Dallas in it. I can't wait to see what you have coming!
  17. Computer is still busted, can't work on the city I've been planning for weeks! This is kinda cool--facebookesque

  18. SC4DOT December 2010 Pack Part 1

    They all look great!
  19. The City

  20. Teepees

Wow these look great, real quick question...what terrain are you using in that picture? Thanks! Great Work
  21. Dillenburg - The Renascence

The new region looks great! I love fresh starts, it gives you a hole clean slate to do anything you want! Good luck, build some highways too. I love a good highway!
  22. Show us your Rush Hour / Traffic Jams

    Wow, good stuff!
  23. Weston

@Sparks1176: Thanks for your interest, unfortunitely my computer got messed up and deleted all my stuff. So I am now working on a new Weston based on the old one, I am making some major improvements using the RHW and more NWM stuff. I am sorry to say I don't know where I found the light posts. It is part of a pack of several different light replacements. Its under the name Light Replacement Mod. I haven't been able to find it on the STEX. It is pretty difficult to find, you could try looking on SC4D as well. The building you circled can be found here: www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm
  24. Update 18: The Beginnings of Winter

  25. Update 20: Thalia's Route 37 Mosaic
