Testing yes. There are too many lots with issues. But as for only downloading lots that that you need, that assumes you are a person of some lvl of creativity and imagination. I'm one of those that download and install lots and lots of lots because I am not that great at coming up with my own ideas on what to create. Instead I often find myself scrolling thru the menus to find something that looks good in a particular area, plopping it, and then buliding up around it with aesthetic lots and zoning. But then I also have a high end multimedia machine so it can handle a large plugin directory. I will also be testing out the SC4 startup manager tho, to see how that can help.

Beautiful library and hospital placements there! Enjoy seeing how you make use of irregular land plots. Also admiring the generous use of parking lots. mhh, I want to find those paved walkways, don't remember seeing them anywhere.

Date: 3/4/2005 6:31:40 PM Author: ramvid01 I do have a question, where did you get that police station in the first pic (i think its a police station lol) Search for 'sheriff' on the STEX. Jeroni, i was going to give you a bad comment on the highway light in 39.5/6, but then i saw you took it out in later pics.

Date: 3/1/2005 10:18:36 AM Author: corryzahn I've tried searching the forums, but am having no luck... how do you get the foll foliage? and is there a way to get rid of the scrub that grows at high elevations and have real trees? PEG's Seasonal trees on the STEX. Additionally, there is the ADC Forested Streets mod that uses Peg's seasonal lots. There are some mods that modify the god mode trees, as well as mayor mode trees.

Date: 3/3/2005 3:40:48 PM Author: TheGuardianAngel And I know that they change but can you keep them at Fall Trees? And if yes, can you tell me hold I can keep them that way? Yes, they do change appropriately with the seasons, but I'm not aware of any way to get them to remain in one form...besides modifying the files or creating new ones. And I wish I had the skills right now to remake my own versions as I dont really like the spring colors, a little too dark and unrealistic for me. I believe he pauses during fall seasons for max visual effect. Nice pic Jeroni. I wish there was a cobblestone road mod available to use for this area. Those gates, are they Longfellow castle props or something else?

Sorry been away for a bit. Ah, now that is nice!! Flows more beautifully than I thought it could. And the triangular entrances, the dabs of flowers, the treeline, with a bit of contrast with the bus stops.. And in second example the area on the other side of the avenue with the bigger flower bed b/t the three buildings looks also (disregarding the grass texture differences, technical issue), but I have been trying to figure out how you put that together. I dont recognize many of the lots in that setup, except I guess the ones from the embankment pack (I think, as I havent begun to use those yet). Only small thing about that is that it could use a few more trees, but alas there is no room for them. Good to see someone using the bandshell. Tho I wish I could see it in the bigger context of the area around it. I haven't been able to find a good way to place it yet.

I stared at 37.Extra.1 longer than any of the other pics in your cj so far I think... I think those embankment walls really can look impressive when used right. Date: 2/28/2005 6:05:46 PM Author: who_dun_it Great Work! I Love your city journal. It's been this one as of late that made me pick up Simcity again. And in my latest city, Audubon; it's inspired me to go wall crazy (Literally ) But anyway,Keep up the good work! (I wasn't trying to steal this thread for myself before anyone accuses me of such.) Noo... you're just expressing how this has influenced you. And not the only one - it's amazing how many Jeroni-esque CJs have popped up recently.

Where and how did you get those cranes for the seaport and that lightpole( the tall one) If this is the light pole you are talking about: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=all&category=default&sortby=DatePosted&show=12&Str=highway%20light

Ja you do parks and greenery well, to echo Jeroni's comment! Maybe some small things, but very interesting lot usages (at least to me) like the canal lots with corners, the parking lots/car parks adjacent to the seawalls (which goes well with a coastal walkway) - tho I'm trying to figure out how the cars would get to them unless they drive over the walkways . Those commercial midrises overlooking the coast look really classy (have to see if i downloaded that lot, nice one..). Tho behind them I can't help but think it it looks a bit bare and 'unsupported' with only tiny buildings... but we see that alot in real life tho. I'm likely just too accustomed to the sea of tall buildings in Manhattan. On the other hand, fewer tall ones in that area is better as I dont think you would see too many tall buildings in the vicinity of an open stadium. Otherwise they might lose ticket sales while the local binocular shop is making tons of money! Those aren't complaints btw. But as for constructive comments, I do have one thing I'm not comfortable with. The coastal walkway is great, but I'm not sure I like the repetitive use of Marrast's lots there, particular that one 1x2 lot I've seen in a few of your posts along the wall. It's hard to make that one flow smoothly around corners imo. That is, versus adding variation by using other lots as well. Or even using different walkway kits - like Peg's boardwalks, trails, etc. - along different sections of the seawall in the city maybe to help create different atmospheres between neighborhoods. And somehow transition them to tie them all together, like..with some larger park areas, small landmarks or 'historical' sites between . But I guess this city is too built up for much of that by this time tho. Another great post, thanks! I'm going to stop here before I write a book.

Date: 2/22/2005 1:34:53 PM Author: jeronij 22716 views right now !!! & Last time I had a look (20/02/05 ) there were 21000. That means over 1700 views in two days !!!!. Is that possible. Is maybe this new idealbb version playing somehow with the data???. I come often here, but so often I have noticed that when I visit threads, the view count goes up at least 2 with each single visit, sometimes 3. Dont know if its the forum software or my browser. But even so, that is still alot of views. Way to go!! As usual, great job with your updates! But I need to save some drool for your next pics. The coast/cliff line in 34.8 is beautiful. I have tried to naturalize coastlines in my cities, but they are just not up to your level, look too fabricated to me.. guess I need to keep practicing... Noticed you changed your rock mod texture in some recent pics. Do you change it per city based on what would fit best or is it just an overall change?

If you mean the border lines, you can turn them off in the region view to give you an unbroken view of the region. -

Ah, another good CJ to watch. Nice detailing and narration. I could see a quaint little vacation town around Tuflar with boat docks, but yes the river junction is good to start with next. -
I really dont know how you keep doing this, making each little area so gorgeous...

Date: 2/17/2005 10:06:53 PM Author: dodothegoof I must really say this is a great journal, but by going through all the 16 pages I started missing something. I see neither power plans nor water pumps nor any kind of waste management. Where is all this stuff? A city can not survive without them. I see a Thermal Power Infusion Corp generator on the shore of pic 30.2. Haven't spotted the other two utilities yet tho. Maybe for waste.. wonder if he is hiding a couple of PEG's waste chutes that throw garbage over the side of the map.. Date: 2/17/2005 11:41:50 PM Author: packersfan Where did you get the tall freeway lights? One type is here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=all&category=default&sortby=DatePosted&show=12&Str=highway%20light The other type (with the blue metal frame) he uses I swear i downloaded recently, but cant find it now.

Oh wow, i love the first pic. The brick walk right behind those bats (lexington homes if i remember?).. the textures and colors seem to go together well.. and how it winds in b/t buildings, and the pond. And i like the generous use of trees interspersed around the buildings in your neighborhoods there.

I would like to know but thanks if you don't know. Date: 2/8/2005 9:21:51 PM Author: Darmok and I'll try (I don't know how it will turn out) to terraform it to have the most natural look. For that part I think your castle region in SCR will inspire me. Yea, a mix of walls and rock faces/cliffs could look very nice. Maybe with the rock mod too, rather than the mud color. Thx for the forested street link, I seem to have passed over that last time I went thru the stex mod list. Cat litter, eh?
