Thanks for adding the multi-doc interface, makes the tool much, much easier to use! It's been invaluable for a long time, but the changes accelerate the work.

Is there a mod to put trees on the side of roads, streets and avenues?
Total Casual replied to locopeanut's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I'm partial to this one. It won't change the appearance of your sidewalk textures like some of the others. Here's an example shot: The installer for the SFBT mod will let you select the kind of trees you want to use-including Maxis trees if you haven't hunted down new ones yet. Some notes: It produces far fewer trees on roads, so if you want lots of trees on streets you'll need something else-I think SFBT might have produced a mod for that too. You need to manually rebuild your streets to have the new trees pop up! Just click with the street tool every 6-8 tiles or so and it'll pop up lots of trees along the street. -
Standard HWY or Rural HWY, which is better?
Total Casual replied to tkuelker's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
I've found building RHW 4 or 6 itself isn't that hard, and it blends in better visually than the Maxis highways, however I don't have the patience to construct custom onramps and all that. So I tend to use it more as "long distance avenue" in urban regions, and as rural full-access highway-I just cross it with roads instead of building onramps. I use the Maxis highways for limited-access highways since ramps and intersections are so much quicker/easier to build. -

@ timmie, very nice looking city. Where did you find a mod to give your train tracks a consistent base texture like that? It looks like your mod is overriding the brown-dirt-when-adjacent-to-lots behavior of the default game. Does your mod also work with wide-angle rails?
