I guess I posted this question in a wrong section some days ago. Chances are that someone here will know the answer. I dl'd Ill Tonkso's Victorian City Park ( https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=13078 ), and it lists "BSC Mega Pack" as a dependency - but which Mega Pack is this? The pathways don't show up (have the blue background thing), and I guess the appropriate texture is in whichever pack he refers to. I have the other pack listed. And a bonus question: Is there a list of outdated dependencies somewhere (ones that have later been included in a Mega Pack, for example)? I suspect I might have to clear out some old ones. Or can I safely empty my props/textures folders, and just install Mega Packs from one end to another? Cheers in advance. EDIT: Nevermind - apparently it was in some texture pack I downloaded later.

EDIT: Moved question to different section. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Cheers. Seems to be working now - I was just getting a little impatient with "hanging" downloads. It's not like I'm in a rush or anything, so what doesn't finish now, will finish later. -

Just to add to the couple of STEX download speed remarks I've seen... The speed itself does not bother me much (it's usually small files, anyway), but for the past few days, I've had to pause/resume STEX dl's in firefox, in order for the speed actually keep up somewhat. As I've been reading through this thread, I've had a dl stuck on "11 minutes remaining" - for I guess 20 minutes. The dl manager says it's moving at 3,6kb/s, but clearly it is not. Other times it reaches 0kb/s and just sits there. Surely this can't be a load issue? I would guess speed would come back up, if it was only a case of heavy load. Using latest FF and I'm having no problems anywhere else. -

I'm looking for Pjot's overpasses for sunken highways as seen below... They're not on the STEX, and i tried on the LEX as well, but no luck. Any directions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Allright - i have tried finding a few dependencies for Kwakelaars excellet european buildings, but they seem to hide effectively... the dep. list on sc4d does not list these two. I need: BSC MEGA Props - KWK Vol02 CP_PropPack_Vol01 If someone can poin t me to their location or which other pack they're now part i'd be happy. Also, the link over there for BSC BAT Props MJB Vol 09 leads to BSC MEGA Props - swi21 Vol01... but that pack also has its own link further down the page. Is this correct? Thanks in advance

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!! DEPENDENCIES!
blesavidanac replied to spectrumtech's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Indeed - this has been my biggest headache as well. But at the end of the day (after spending the whole day huunting down these packs) it's really a pleasure to see the complete lot in game. I only started to play sc4 a few months ago, and last i went over my plugins folder it was only a few mb short of 1gb. There are still a few lots that wont appear in my menus, and i suppose i am still missing some props... However, it's easy to get confused if you download, say 10 different lots in a day (i've had days downloading closer to 100 lately) and have to find every dependency for each one. Especially if it's outdated and the former download link doesn't provide info on where to get the new pack or which mega pack it was merged into. The search functions on the sites (i have to admit that the search here is among the worst i can think of - counting all kinds of sites) often don't do much to help either. The dependency list on sc4devotion has helped me out a great deal, though... And yea - after all, i go for the most possible realism, so i guess the custom props are necessary... Who said life had to be easy EDIT: Oh yea - i just came to think of what cars would look like today, if they still used the same standard components as 50 years ago -

'jagged edges' on diagonal roads and NAM puzzle pieces
blesavidanac posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hello! I kind of went on a w2w rampage on the STEX and other sites to try and build some eurostyle cities - lots of very nice buildings out there. It works just perfect when i put diagonal buildings next to for example avenues, but i run into a minor issues when putting plazas and pavement tiles next to diagonal roads, avenues or the NAM GLR/avenue puzzle pieces. The edges of the diagonal piece of road etc. are all green grass. Is there a way to get paved edges on these pieces (both road, avenue, and NAM GLR/avenue)? It would just look a thousand times nicer without the grassy edges - next to plaza tiles or next to GLR tracks. I tried installing the SAM addon, but it didn't seem to help. A couple of searches for 'pavement' and 'sidewalk' didn't give me any clear results either. I took a few screens to illustrate the problem: On this one, the avenue junction on the lower right (the leading out of the right side of the pic) could also use some pavement or similar, but i'm not sure if that can be done. (pics removed) As a bonus question i just came to think of, watching this last image: Is there a way to cross the GLR with roads etc. diagonally? Just to avoid the "bump" to make a 90 degree crossing. Any suggestions are much appreciated and would make it all so much nicer to build and look at. Thank you in advance. -

YES! Thank you! IT looks and works perfectly now - also with all the other things. Station could stay in its place, but i had to move a building and some of the rails a notch, in order for the draggable to get across the road before a 45 degree turn (off the left of the picture). To be honest, i only learned today how to use the draggable, when i stumbled over it in another thread. However, is there something about a patch i need to install for certain stations to work with the draggable GLR (i dl'ed the newest NAM version)? Also, i need to find out why my diagonal Marrast GLR station won't work (they appear only as 2 tiles with diagonal rails) - i might be missing some dependencies... But credits for the "couple of thoughts". I'm still learning, but now it's getting more fun since i can do (almost what i want). -

Thanks for the welcome and for your reply. Ngh. I ended up finding the exact mod i needed. I went with Swamper77's sidewalk mods for it all, got the 'Urban Beautification' pack as well, and it turned out exactly as i wanted. I just didn't look hard enough in the STEX - my bad. Sorry for that... I'll also remember to convert to jpg. next time. I'm still interested if there's some way of creating diagonal GLR crossings over roads etc. for the heck of it i took an "after" screenshot. so... Before: ...and after: It looks so much nicer, but it would still rule a great deal if i could make a diagonal GLR/roadcrossing here, instead of having to use this much space. Not that it matters all that much in this specific example, but later i think i would prefer a more direct path. -

Hello! I am 29 and lives in Denmark. Currently without work, so i have too much time on my hands - this often results in long nights of playing games. I have recently acquired SC4 as a change from the war games i often play. And i think i'm lost to this. It's an absolutely brilliant pass-time (and also a bit of a time robber ). So far i haven't had much success, though. I guess it will come over time, with a bit of luck. So, i came across this site, and i have been finding myself browsing transit sets and building mods for hours at a time. Compliments for all the really nice work a lot of you seem to put into it. So far i downloaded the NAM, a couple of other addons such as GLR european stations, the nice S-bahn sets etc. These seem to work allright so far. Now, after browsing through the immense collection of mods, addons, buildings, etc., i hoestly got a bit lost. Abbreviations and so on, seem to confuse me a bit. So i was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of some nice/must-have european style things. I saw some very nice polish soviet-era buildings here, and i like the 50-70's style of parts of real-life Berlin, for example, as opposed to the high tech look of other western major cities. Concrete and all... I also spotted some nie dutch creations that i might go for, as well. In short - any recommendations? Thank you in advance (and apologies if i'm posting in the wrong place), and good to meet you all.

Brief introduction + question from a newb
blesavidanac replied to blesavidanac's topic in New Members Information
Thank you for your reply and for the welcome. I have found some nice east-bloc buildings in the STEX (another of those abbreviations), and one guy was nice enough to mention a minor list of european style modelling artists in his comment, so i'm well on my way. But yes, indeed it seems i can keep downloading for a long time. There are loads of beautiful models here - once i get them built, it's sure to beat the view from my own window
