Thanks all I've done a few progress on the Equitable Building. But I'm again disappointed with the the glass. I've down the IOR level and change the color of the reflections. Now the reflections are more darkness and green, like my first update, and I think more real. @Vlasky and Reddon: You're right about the reflections and colors of the building. But it's difficult to do an high reflective windows without any perceptions of the ground map . I've always use an google map or bing view, here, I've try to a mix of several pictures to do the same thing as Jason. I'm working on again and again Here the result of the day:

Darknono35 replied to cmdp123789's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I haven't post anything on this thread, but when I saw your fantastic work for re-create the real NYC, I can't say anything else: we have an infinity of buildings that need to be modelised Great pictures so far :thumb:b: -
Thanks all, the Equitable building is mainly ended but I need to do and improve the textures for the plaza, and the roof Since the last day, I've add some dirt on the roof, and change the glass color... What did you think about the new color of the windows ? I hope you'll like this new version

Wonderful work Yep I'm agree with shinkansen, add brownish tint on your facade and for your reflections of windows, too. Anyway, I like this new project from Seattle keep up the good work buddy :thumb:b:

Great progress so far The model isn't finish of course, but we can see your improvement at this stage . In my opinion, if you'll done transparencies windows, do not forget blinds and stuff visible from the exterior As T Wrecks said, your textures should be improved , the concrete need to be grey with a little bit of yellow . But it's very nice for your first BAT here keep it up You can found a lot of useful pictures on Emporis.com, and several informations on buildings, I use this site for all my BAT For the roof, and sometime for the textures view from the sky, you can use Bing map Good luck To help you:

Hello everyone, thanks for comments An other picture of the Community Tower, with nightlight level more higher than the first picture. Inside the building, I've add plasterboard and several blinds to add more variations between floors @Weixc812: This is an new technic of lighting, I'd need some time to improved this method of work. Remember my first buildings and nightlight was awful too .

Darknono35 replied to Parisian's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Lovely BAT my friend, I can't wait for the upload And when we see what you are doing with Gmax, I know your future buildings done under 3dsmax will be outstanding -
Thank you all for your support and comments Here some updates for the Community Building, I've begun the night light. I try to make an inside lighting, I think it's better than the self illumination since I've use this technic for the 605 Third Avenue with the NYBT. Some work need to be done for the First National Bank of Hollywood, mainly on the copper, and I'll try to begun the night version tomorrow Community Tower: First National Bank of Hollywood:

Are Sketchup models a substitute for gmax models or what?
Darknono35 replied to Sleeping Politician's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hi blackdolphin, You can use sketchup to help you for re-create some stuff for the game. But I don't think use them and export them directly as SC4model, it will be be an plagiarism... If you wanna create props for the lot Editor, several stuff on sketchup are in 2D and not in 3D. For me, I use Sketchup only when I need mesures or when the building wasn't easier to understand with picture or google earth view
