A way to mass-plant city tres?
Jamonbread replied to oldoldie's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
The god terraforming in mayor mode also covers farms so it isnt ideal because of its round cursor shape but it works pretty well. I'd like to see a lot of the new custom trees availble to be mass plopped in god mode like SF's trees but I doubt this will happen. -

@Tysons4... nice idea, might be complicated but if someone is up for maintaining that its an awesome idea, right now this thread is really chaotic.

Update 6: Ree Lor Waterway
Jamonbread posted a City Journal entry in Callahorn Empire V2 - Capitol District
The Ree Lor waterway is home to many rare plants and animals included small bottom feeding fish, certain marsh bushes and is the habitat for many endangered seabirds and small animals. It is one of the only sea marshes in the district because of errosion prevention and development over the centuries. This waterway is also a very important tourist site to the area and community. Over 10,000 boats pass through the waterway every summer month! The Ree Lor is the gateway to the Vast fishing grounds to the west for fishers in the Callahorn Bay because it acts as a safe and fast alternative to going around the Aquonjor Penninsula. Enjoy the pictures of this short but great waterway. DIRECTORY THE WATERWAY KINCARDINE HILL Thanks for visiting the Empire! ---REPLIES--- ClarkJordan12345- Ah man, thanks a lot! Really appriciate it! Motina- Hope you enjoyed my CJ! Thanks a lot! TowerDude- No, you rock for that awesome comment, thanks. encomnium- Thanks, the inland farms were the most difficult to mix into the coast. kolnikov inc- Most are just maxis farms with ploppables on top such as the cows and rural realism mod. Others can all be found on the STEX. Search sunflower farm for the yellow farm and I actually wouldnt suggest the tree farm, it grows like a weed and I couldnt find it anyway but its definatley off simtropolis. Thanks for commenting! esclivnavia- Thanks a lot! Appriciate your comment! I dont know if theres a forest tutorial, but if you want a tip I place small tress first then large trees, and fill up all the remaining sapce with my last tree selection, then I run my cursor acroos with brown grass (looks like dirt) and small flora. It's taken a lot of practice. Daan300- Thanks a lot Daan! I cant help but take inspiration for you! Funny how I hate subburbs in real life, but love recreating them. eufl- Thanks, and no you don't. But it was measured in weeks in combination with this last update, im done with marshes for a bit! patriotizzy- Thanks very much! sumwonyuno- Thanks a lot... happy to know my work payed off! -
Also, don't just make an eny with one sentence, and update multiple entries at once, if its all ready to go, just make on eentry with titles or save it for later.

Why did you create a ton of CJ's and without a single SC4 picture? As a warning its extremely hard to upkeep more then one CJ at a time.

RealHighway (RHW) Problems
Jamonbread commented on regionlong's City Journal Entry in You're Hired! | NATURAL and SMART Growth
@simcity4fanatic/slayer: I dismissed the advice quickly because I had previously tried these things myself. However, I did not consider the fact that other players had different slope mods or no slope mod at all. I'm sorry If I came across as harsh I was just trying to give some quick advice. @all: I like the split highway idea that could look cool! -
Update 6: The Town of Switchbend
Jamonbread commented on Vahr's City Journal Entry in Devlin (AFDES)
Whoa great use of HSR! And the NWM! Looks really cool! Are those retaining walls along the highway available on the STEX? -
Could you lot the station into two peices then place them correctly? When showing in the CJ just combine the two pictues In a sort of mosaic and voila! this could also be tricky and I would say jolly_rogers idea is a good one too. Good luck with it! I must say that luck just sucks!

RealHighway (RHW) Problems
Jamonbread commented on regionlong's City Journal Entry in You're Hired! | NATURAL and SMART Growth
The above advice won't work. The first suggestion will create an ugly raised mound of land and the second suggestion doesn't work because the railway slope is steeper then the RHW slope will allow so it will result in the same scarring cut as shown in the pictures. To fix this, either go around the right of the first hill and weave a little down the second, use a tunnel as suggested, terraform away the sides of the scar you have, or simply use a netwrk with a steeper slope. I realize capacity and commute time are of lots of concern to you (over how it looks it seems) so i would suggest terracing the walls of the cut away from the highway and slightly lower the entire moraine. -
The cliffs and the beach are great! I love how you mixed all the different styles of buildings together, another unique and fantastic update! If you don't mind me asking... where did you find those rocks with the moss on them? Ive been looking for more styles of rock to spruce up my own coastline.

Great final texture! These will be a fantastic addition! I do have one simple critique though. Like your other seawalls, the only thing that bugs me is the maxis trees. And one request is that if you do use maxis trees if you don't add plam trees that would be great, Just because most environments don't match palm trees. Looking forward to seeing these in the game. Thats just my two cents.
