Thank you very much, it's been a lot of fun coming back to these automata after a long time away. And it's nice to be able to offer something fresh, and have other people enjoy and appreciate them as much as I do. I dug more into the Glasgow Subway history, and found there were a few alternative liveries for the 2nd Gen. This is still WIP, but here's the 120th anniversary livery the trains carried. In addition, I noticed in a lot of photos that there were mixed liveries on the 3-car sets, so I feel quite happy to release these sets individually and as additions, so a mix of styles and colours can be seen.

I can certainly weather some automata, but offer them as an alternative download, rather than the default or only. New automata is incoming soon. As the new spawners are now (properly) uploaded, I've worked on some El-Rail/Subway stock to take advantage of that. So this is the 2nd Gen Glasgow Subway stock, WIP
  3. DSC - El-Rail, Monorail and Steam Engine Spawners

I have to apologise, when uploading I accidentally uploaded an older version of the .rar, which contained a test version. I have uploaded the correct .rar, with the correct file within. The older rar is 94kb, the new one is 107kb, for comparison purposes.

DESCRIPTION This file contains three 1x1 lots, that will spawn Elevated Rail, Monorail and Steam engines on their respective networks. When NAM is installed, they will function as spawners for GLR and HSRP respectively. They both have custom icons and appear in the Rail Menu. These are edited versions of the existing Passenger and Freight spawners, by Swapper77. All credit goes towards them for the original files and the LUA file which I edited. INSTALLATION Drag the file into your 'Plugins' folder. Remove any lots before uninstalling. COMPATIBILITY These lots can work independently and in tandem with Swaper77's original Passenger and Freight Spawners. DEPENDENCIES Quoted from the original: "Dependency: Rail Signal Lots by StrangiatoTheme https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/18168-railroad-signal-lots/ This download is required for the signal prop that is used on the lots. Without it, they will appear empty." The function of the lot is unaffected if the props are not used.

I have just released the Tesmec Track Checker pack! I have also released the El-rail and Monorail Spawners! I would absolutely implore you to notify me if there are any issues with the spawners, as this is the first time I have modified an existing LOT, so I am aware there may be issues. But otherwise, I hope these are useful to some.
  6. DSC - Rail - Tesmec Track Checkers

    Version 1.0.0

    593 Downloads

DESCRIPTION This file contains four new Track Checker vehicles. As much as we all "love" the vanilla Maxis track checker, these TCs will add a bit more variety to your rail networks, whilst not looking out of place. The single DAT contains one replacement for the vanilla TC, and three additional TCs included. Each vehicle has a high quality texture and nightlighting. INSTALLATION Drag the file into your 'Plugins' folder. COMPATIBILITY This file will replace the default track checker, if you wish to use another track checker replacement, make sure it is loaded AFTER this mod. The additional Track Checkers are unaffected. DEPENDENCIES No dependencies.
  7. dragonsteincole's Workshop

Thank you for replying, If that is the case, then I shall do some final work and release both these spawners, and a pack of track checkers later today.

The edits to the LUA are minimal, but are mainly to change what vehicle is spawned by the spawner, and what the occupant group is named/what is referenced. Credit for the original is given. Swamper's original: https://imgur.com/AknmLvC My edit: https://imgur.com/XnuHJBb The majority of the edits are changing the Instance ID of the buildings and associated files, so they do not overwrite the originals.E.g 0x6534284a,0x07bddf1c,0xf3acec0e becomes 0x6534284a,0x07bddf1c,0xf3acec1e and all instances of the original are changed. There are also edits to the name of the lots and the descriptions to reflect the change in vehicles spawned by each. As there are no props or other dependencies, i'm confident they work. But am I missing anything super obvious regarding this?
  9. dragonsteincole's Workshop

I have versions that work alongside and independent of the original train spawners by Swamper77. But they are edits of their lots, and I am not sure of the specifics regarding releasing edited versions of someone else's lots.
  10. dragonsteincole's Workshop

Happy with the variety of these now, although the nightlighting on the cabs could use a bit of brightening up.
  11. dragonsteincole's Workshop

Based on a Tesmec rail vehicle. Available in 5 fruity flavours. An in-between project that I again started but never finished, this is the first of hopefully a few varieties of track checker replacements and adds that I want to bundle up as a pack. This specific one is based on a Tesmec track test vehicle, but I wish to include a whole variety of shapes and sizes. Whilst there are very few Track Checker replacements out there (Uki's two examples are the ones that spring to mind first), there's also a wide variety of interesting single-car or bespoke track maintenance vehicles that could add some interesting stimuli to rail networks. This is independent to another idea of mine, which is to have an additional pack of locomotive replacements for the track checker. Unlikely to be any multiple units but perhaps more the Class 33, and hopefully eventual other class of loco. Suggestions for both of these ideas would be welcome!
  12. dragonsteincole's Workshop

It's very nice to say this again, I have released the Class 165-166 pack. Up front, if there are any issues or errors please let me know, whilst I have checked and double-checked this, over two years of inactivity means it's very possible I missed something obvious. I am pleased with the results, and it does look right at home in the suburban setting. ADDITIONALLY The Class 380 Scotrail Mod has been updated to the shorter coach length. Whilst some of the larger fractional curves of the RRW mod will still cause minor glitches during transitions, the biggest visual glitches have been removed. I will be updating all existing mods where this fix is applicable in the upcoming months.

DESCRIPTION The Class 165 and 166 are diesel multiple-units, built in the early 1990's for suburban, fast and express services, and used by multiple operators over their lifetime. There are four pairs of locomotive and carriage, in four liveries - Network SouthEast, First Great Western Link, First Great Western, and GWR. All models have nightlighting and HD textures. INSTALLATION Drag one set of files from a Livery folder into the plugins folder. COMPATIBILITY The engine and carriage will replace the Maxis vanilla passenger and carriage respectively. As with most passenger train automata, mixing and matching between different sets will create inconsistent results, it is recommended to only use this set by itself. As this is an HD model/automata, please use Hardware Rendering to avoid any issues. DEPENDENCIES This mod has no dependencies.
  14. dragonsteincole's Workshop

Think I'm close to final with these four now. Will probably just include them as one Pack of four different liveries, as there's not really enough variation in other liveries to make make it work dividing them up.
  15. dragonsteincole's Workshop

Further testing this evening. Working on the Class 165/166 (merging the two classes, as there is little visual difference aside from liveries.)
  16. dragonsteincole's Workshop

It has been a while, due to other projects and personal issues/family needs. However, the 20th anniversary yesterday, seeing everyone being so positive and sharing stories really made me feel super cuddly about this excellent game. To that end, I finished something I started in 2020(!!!), which is modifying the lengths for the Class 380. Main task is to 'fix' an issue with the length of the coaches, causing the last coach to glitch out on certain turns. It means reducing the length of all passenger coaches and the locomotive to match, but shouldn't make a significant change. This was also an exercise in re-teaching myself in what I needed to do in order to complete this process. Either way, hopefully there is not as large a gap between posts, and productivity as there has been. Whilst I cannot promise anything, I wish to pick up working on these again, whether that means just updating existing mods, or producing new ones is not yet decided.

Three releases for the price of one! DESCRIPTION The Class 91 is a locomotive still in use in the UK, used for high-speed cross-country rail services such as the Intercity 225, and more modernly the Flying Scotsman. There are three different designs included: - British Rail Intercity 225 - LNER Red - Europhoenix The Intercity and LNER liveries are passenger-only, and both come with their own unique rake of carriages which are best used together. The Intercity set consists of 4 liveries (1st, 2nd, Buffet and Sleeper). And the LNER set consists of 3 liveries (1st, 2nd and Buffet). The Europhoenix is a freight-only version. All trains have a replacement (REP) and an additional (ADD) version, for mixing and matching with other rail automata. All models have night-lighting and HD textures. DEPENDENCIES None This mod can be used with my previous mods, but passenger train mods are best used individually rather than mixed together.
  18. DSC - Passenger and Freight - Class 91 and Carriages

In the download there are folders for each livery (three in total), inside those folders are files with '_rep' or '_add' on the end, for replacement and addition respectively. You can really only have 1 replacement for the default maxis trains at any time, but you can have numerous additions which will show up as well as the replacement. So using the Intercity livery as an example: - If you want to just replace the default Maxis 'Bullet' train, go into the 'Passenger - Intercity' folder, and move the 'DSC_Class91_InterCity_Rep.dat' and 'DSC_InterCityCoach_1st_Rep.dat' files from the folder to your plugins. - If you fancy some variations of the Intercity carriages, to give your trains some added variety in their looks, you can also move the three 'DSC_InterCityCoach_xxx_Add.dat' files to the plugins too. These are just 'bonuses'. - If you want to add the LNER train and carriages, you would go into the 'Passenger - LNER' folder and move the 'DSC_Class91_LNER_Add.dat' and any of the '_add' carriage files to your plugins. This will result in a random mixup of your trains, and an look messier overall. I hope this helps you and clears up a few things.
  19. dragonsteincole's Workshop

I am sorry for the lack of updates to this thread. With Christmas/New Years, some personal issues and some commission work on tight deadlines I have been unable to do much in the way of creating new trains. I am eager to continue making them, and there will also be some updated versions coming when I do, in order to fix an issue with the length of the trains/coaches that was discussed on the Discord before Christmas.
  20. DSC - Passenger and Freight - Class 91 and Carriages

You could mix and match locomotives if you choose a REP (replaces the original Maxis train) and an ADD (adds an additional locomotive), but usually to get a consistent looking train+carriages you would only use one set. Bear in mind there are two passenger trains and 1 freight loco, so you won't see all three locomotives hauling passenger trains or freight trains. Thank you for the comment as well. it's always a pleasure to see someone new downloading these mods.
  21. dragonsteincole's Workshop

@rsc204 I'd be happy to add the Class 158 to the list, in Regional Railways livery. Having looked around, there'll probably be some more liveries as well, it appears to have a good selection to choose from.
  22. dragonsteincole's Workshop

Mine was also a gaming mouse, a Mionix Naos 7000. Which was a bit on the expensive side, and has lasted for less than 2 years before issues arose, so I won't be purchasing another. I went for the Microsoft Classic Intellimouse as a replacement, and with the £30 saved i'll buy something else nice
  23. dragonsteincole's Workshop

There was no offense taken, i'm just unsure of how to go about it is all. It's one thing to hack together something for yourself, but it's another to make a proper thing for release, thats where I lack experience. On an unrelated note, the next train may take a little while longer to make and release. I've had to replace my mouse as it was beginning to mis-click or double-click frequently, even after cleaning and updating drivers, so i'm having to get used to a new one, and messing around with settings to get it feeling 'right'.
  24. dragonsteincole's Workshop

I would like to release them at some point, but I must admit I don't know where to actually start in terms of releasing buildings. I don't want to break something accidentally.
  25. dragonsteincole's Workshop

I have just released the Class 380 in ScotRail livery! Quite pleased with this one as the front is very distinct, and it translated well into the angle seen ingame. I was afraid it would end up looking too similar to the other models but I was proven wrong.
