The NAM Retexture and Cosmetic Mod replaces most of the default Maxis roadway intersection textures. Among the changes and options available, you'll find smooth corners at intersections, Cul-de-sacs for Street, Road, and SAM (Street Addon Mod) Asphalt Streets, correct geometry for orthogonal to diagonal drag-able curve, improvements to Road, One-Way Road, Street and Avenue networks, and much, much more! This is the North American Version of the NAM Retexture and Cosmetic Mod. It is highly recommended you have the latest version of the NAM installed to take full advantage of this mod. Network Addon Mod-Windows The latest version of the Street Addon Mod is required to take advantage of the SAM Set 7 Asphalt Street retextures. Street Addon Mod-Windows This is the Windows version. A MacOS-compatible version is also available.
  6. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform
If i have this installed do i still need the NAM Hotfix package?
Yes.
My TuLEPs are mirrored. The cars follow them like they used to but the images are flipped. This goes for the ploppables as well as the automatics (road & avenue).
It sounds like you may have installed the incorrect drive side option. If your copy of the game has vehicles driving on the right side of the road, you shouldn't have the Left-Hand Drive (LHD) options installed, and if your vehicles drive on the left side of the road, you should have the LHD options installed.
  7. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform

The NAM download off the STEX currently does not work right now. We had attempted to use the linking feature to link up the STEX directly with ModDB, as the NAM does not fit within the STEX's 20MB filesize limit, but it seems ModDB has automatically uploaded the files without our knowledge to Game Front and forced everyone there. In the interim, please register on the SimCity 4 Devotion LEX, login, and click "Most Popular" to access the NAM.
  8. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform
Wow, I have to say that I quit SC4 for about a year and it feels like ive been living under a rock, and yet NAM still hasnt updated
That's mainly due to the type of things in development at present. We've been working constantly over the past 13 months.
  9. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform
I don't really understand why there are those puzzle pieces if you can make new tiles like vanilla streets and roads have.
I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you referring to making full-on new newtorks without starter pieces or puzzle pieces? If so, that's not possible.
how do i download its not working for
The download is hosted off-site--if you click "download" here at ST, you're just going to get an HTML file with links to those off-site hosts. You can pick it up either off of ModDB or SC4 Devotion. Try here.
  10. NAM Essentials is officially no more. Introducing the NAM Hotfix Package. See the Modding-Transit Networks forum for more details.

  11. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform
Thank you so much for making my life difficult. Don't do it on the LEX please. Registering is stupid and it does not work for the LEX. I get the "Activate Account" Email but it says "Problem - Account already activated" then I try to log in and it says "You have entered invalid data - please activate account". It's stupid and it does not work. Post it on Media-fire or some other down-loader that WORKS.
If you had read the file description, you'd see that the mod is also hosted on ModDB (without registration) [link]. We cannot host it directly at Simtropolis because the filesize limit was lowered to 20MB after the most recent site upgrade, meaning the NAM no longer fits on the exchange, and as the ModDB link works without registration, we have no plans to use Mediafire.
  12. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform
When I use Nam, the city get maximun pollution. what I should Do?
Turn the Clean Air Act Ordinance on. This should mitigate the effect to a great extent (and eliminate any Light Rail/Monorail pollution, which is a side-effect of fixing the congestion issues with those networks).
I try to download it and it says I cant download through any mirrors. Im dumb and have no idea what this means
Are you trying to get it through ModDB? If so, it should automatically be selecting a mirror. That's what it did upon testing it just now.
  13. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform
where can i find it for mac
Right here.. Please note, however, that you have to manually install it. Read the documentation carefully, and you may also want to check out this thread.
I've downloaded the file but nothing new appears on the game? please help
First off, the actual STEX download itself is an HTML file containing a link to an alternate site--sticking that in your Plugins will do nothing. We can't fit the NAM on the STEX due to the 20MB limit, so you'll have to follow one of those links to find it. Also, when you do pick up the actual file from one of those links, make sure you run the installer included.
  14. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform

Look at the date on that post--July 20, 2009, almost 2 1/2 years ago. It's referring to the July 2009 update (also long-outdated and no longer offered) of the June 2009 NAM. That information is completely outdated as evidenced by the datestamps on those posts.
  15. And 2) You MUST have SC4 Deluxe or the Rush Hour Expansion pack (game version number upon boot-up will be 1.1-something). The NAM will NOT work on the original SC4 (game version number upon boot-up will be 1.0-something) and attempting to run the NAM with that version will cause the game to instantly crash (much in the manner you have described).

  16. Two things: 1) there's no potential conflict between the NAM and the Olympic Terrain Mod, but if you have improperly installed the Olympic Terrain Mod, or installed two terrain mods simultaneously, there's definitely a chance of crashing.

  17. There already are 4-lane One-Way Roads in the Network Widening Mod.
  18.
Hi, if any of you have been to a big city you may have noticed they have 4 laned one way roads. Can anyone make a mod like this. It would help add realism to the game.
Those already exist--see the Network Widening Mod.
  19. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform
I always thought this was a direct download from Simtropolis! >.<
It used to be. However, the current version of the STEX does not allow files larger than 20MB to be uploaded. NAM Version 30 for Windows is 22.1MB. Splitting the file up is not an option, as we'd be inundated with installation-related tech support issues. If the situation with the STEX changes to allow on-site hosting of the NAM again, we will definitely make use of it. However, in the meanwhile, we're having to host it off-site--our apologies for the inconvenience.
  20. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform
My EL train doesnt work:angry:
If you're running a Left-Hand Drive copy of the game, please ensure that you've installed the NAM LHD Plugin and do not have any outdated NAM files floating around your Plugins folder. If you need additional help, please see the NAM General Discussion and Support thread in the Modding-Transit Networks forum.
  21. NAM files being updated on STEX, ones larger than the STEX filesize limit include link to ModDB for the time being.

  22. NAM Version 30/RHW 5.0/NWM 2.0 now on the LEX at SC4D. Should be up on ST before much longer.

  23. Yup. The "birthday" listed here corresponds with the very first NAM release (April 24, 2004).

  24. sc4_rools: The puzzle pieces are rotatable via the Home/End keys. If you are on a Macbook, try Fn+Home/Fn+End.

gaucho: As with all NAM Team products, there is no scheduled release date or timeline for release for NAM Version 30. Simply put, we don't know when and our speculation as to when would be inaccurate at best.

  25. Dirk is working to retrieve the NAM Windows file. In the meanwhile, it is also available at SC4 Devotion and ModDB. See the NAM FAQ thread in Modding-Transit Networks for further details.
