    The SC4 Terraformer is standalone application created by Wouanagaine that allows you to create and edit SimCity 4 regions. No more open, terraform, save, open, reconcile, terraform, save, etc. You can choose to create a region from scratch and hand terraform it or you can open an existing region from your regions folder and make changes to it as you please. All the hand terraforming tools from SC4 are now available for your use on an entire region. Other tools have been added to help your hand terraforming become an easier job. SC4TF saves your region in a proprietary file called .SC4M that saves the data from your region to a precision of 0.1m in elevation. With a regular image you only have a precision of 2.4m.

To all of the valued readers of this thread, I can no longer respond to repeated questions concerning issues with DirectX. It is EXTERMELY IMPORTANT that you completely read through the ReadMe file included with the SC4Terraformer application. The ReadMe file has detailed instructions as to what DirectX version is required as well as links on where to find it. It is very possible that by using the below self-help methods, you may be able to get an answer to your question. Please ensure you have used the below methods for getting self-help: 1) Ensure you havedownloaded and installed the latest version of SC4Terraformer. As of this post, the latest version is 1.1. 2) Ensure you have the correct version of DirectX. 3) Ensure you have COMPLETELY read through the ReadMe file that is part of the SC4Terraformer download package. 4) Search through the posts in this thread for answers to your questions. What I plan is to provide tools ( via plugin ? ) to mimics those in the sc4 so anyone can do hand terraforming in region. Also I plan to have an import/export of the elevation data so handterraformed region can be exchanged. And if there is still some interest, provide specific tools like 'build a sunken highway from there to there', etc... Any comments suggestions, etc... are very welcome

    Please PM wouanagaine if you have any questions about this article. This tutorial shows you a step by step tutorial on how I made those curved roads you can spot in the regional view of the header. I think it's quite an efficient method. I was inspired by the Curved highway Tutorial by Thalassicus, but unfortunately the move to ST5.0 removed the pics. But for summary, you place signs where you want the highway to pass through and refine the process and then build the highway between signs. For further explanations you can search the forums for "curved highway." What this tutorial shows is a way to have a visual clue for the layout of the road (or any other network) so that you can plan where it will go. First step is to set the "crime" view on I apologize for the French on the picture. Now open you police menu And place one of your police building on the land. By placing different buildings, you'll see each one has a different radius for the curves. Place the buildings so that some of the lines touch each other. Choose wisely and you'll be able to draw a good looking network. Now you can start building your network, making it follow along where the line goes. Ok, now your network is complete. Time to destroy the police buildings and see the result Looks correct at level 2 zoom Looks correct in the traffic view. You can of course use this technique with any building that has a 'radius lines,' and it works with any network. I hope you have appreciated this quick "how-to".   20. I can However, having vista myself and not able to run SC4TF on it ( I have not try very hard ), I won't have any suggestions to give when someone will ask for help about the vista compatibility. So until I figure out myself the way to run it, it will remain XP only

    I'm not using .NET, so I don't see how this can help ( however who knows with Vista ) The thing is I have not managed to get it run myself, but I know others that run it, and it certainly have to do with the DX dll. Try to set the compatibilty to WinXP SP2 to see if it helps It would have been good to post that in the SC4TF support thread instead of creating a new thread NOB can you merge this topic with the SC4TF support thread please ?

    0-100 is because it is displayed in percentage of white ( 0 = black 100= white ), no matter if you use 1bit, 8bit, or 16bit As I said in another post, in 16bit mode a lot of CS2 tool are disabled, and you can't specify a 16bit gray, but at least you have some filters and some layer tools that are not in SC4TF
