Now the price is only somewhat absurd. Still cheaper to just buy a new graphics card than this and I still don't have an HDTV anyway.

I don't hate the game as much as I hate its the end of the series apparently. Cons - Its not sim city...

In the next 50 years it says. I'll say anything semi-plausible will happen with a number that vague.

Sounds like city life, I think we know how great of a game that is. Again, this isn't a city game, its a sims spinoff.

Can we just accept that everything coming out of EA is marketing bs and move on?

"At the time the 'old' wonders were listed, they were the seven most wonderous man-made structures in existence, not the seven newest." Well, no. There were plenty of ancient sites like the Great Wall, and one in N. America that where never on that list. They weren't the 7 oldest either, whats your point? What qualifies as wonderous? In the end this is all subjective an means nothing but I few more hits on some guys website.

If these are "new" shouldn't they be new, like 20 century plus new? Some of these are contemporariness of the original greek wonders, or at least ancient to say the least. I guess it really doesn't matter since no one even knows the original wonders to begin with.

SpecialEddie, yeah that about sums it up. I'm sure last years concert made a big difference to. I'm still convinced this is even a issue anyone on Earth can too a darn thing about let alone it leading to some sort of ultimate doom. Its a publicity stunt by a bunch hypocrites as far as I can see. On a side note I wonder how many Chinese power plants went online during this? How many lightbulbs do I have to change to offset those...

I wouldn't have. I think we drastically overstate how hard this game really is. Maybe its because you guys have never played harder games, maybe its because you want to feel like you are playing the hardest and in-dept game known to man, I don't know, maybe EA marketing and their excuses for SCS are getting to you. Don't get me wrong, its still hard at times, but if you don't like it I am not going to strip out realistic features just because its too hard. And why do water pipes always come up? Let them go play the sims if these newbies, whoever they are, don't think the game is friendly enough for their attention spans.

What about Spore 2 and Spore 1's expansions!? I don't know what they are doing at EA, and its times like this I don't care.
-
Was the sims 2 done under his "watchful eye" because that game, by itself with 15 expansion pack was dull and boring. Problem being I will not be investing in overpriced expansions. What will the sims 3 add anyway? A more stripped down base game to encourage sales? The game had some potential but they clearly blew it. Even SC4 did not have the same amount of buildings as SC3, or at least it seemed. It made up in other areas though, like so much custom content developing for it. I'll still have to read a review on spore to see if its any good because right now its 100% hype. How many expansion packs are planned though?

I think we tend to exaggerate second hand smoking for political reasons, but thats not to say I want people in my face smoking so I can sort of support some of these bans at times. Otherwise I think people can do whatever they want the they please as long as it doesn't involve me, as it often doesn't. Which kills more people? Second hand smoke or drunk driving? Looking it up drunk driving was around 16000 a year while second hand smoke, still somewhat subjective, was 3000. I don't care about the people who directly kill themselves smoking because that realistically should fall under "suicides."

Originally posted by: manticorefan To say that "we brought this on ourselves" is crap. You can't please everyone; blame terrorism on terrorists. Then kill them all. quote> I do blame the terrorists, as we should. Originally posted by: manticorefan and since we been fratanising with these nations since the crusades i do think we have brought it upon ourselves the koran was written during the time of the crusades when knights used to go on crusade to slaughter anyone that wasnt christian quote> You bring up the crusades as an act of Christian "aggression" I assume. What about the moors invading France a three hundred years prior? The koran was written in 600s, not the 1100s. And who did the Muslims take that land from in the first place? I don't we can play that game. Okay. So we should idly sit back and just let hundreds of innocents die do to terrorist attack because we might upset their brother in law who likely doesn't share the same radical ideology as them. And yes, lets remember most of these attacks are Muslims killing Muslims (Iraq, Indonesia for example). As for killing them all. Who knows, maybe they'll just go away.
