Hellken Thanks a lot Estado Nuevo del Altiplano, Ciudad de Hullaqa Hullaqa (pronounce H-u-lia-kha) is the third largest city in San Theodoros with about 225,000 inhabitants, located to the east of the Gran Chapo desert, in the department of Estado Nuevo del Altiplano. On the San Theodoran Altiplano, the city is 2,500 meters (8,202 feet) above sea level causing locals and visitors to call it The City In The Clouds. It is surrounded by mountains filled with gold, diamonds, copper, iron and silver. The high concentrations of precious metals (the highest in the world) lead to a gold-and-everything-that-is-worth-many-pesos rush after the end of the Gran Chapo war between San Theodoros and its neighboring country, Nuevo Rico in 1937. San Theodoros became then one of the richest countries in the world. Unfortunately, an earthquake destroyed the whole city in 1956, and following the rise to power of dictator General Tapioca in 1959, poor management and corruption prevented the government from making investments, leaving Hullaqa almost abandoned. Following the arrival to the presidential palace of General Alcazar in 1972, the San Theodoran communist junta heavily invested in the modernization of the infrastructures all over the country, which was suddenly stopped because the government wanted to modernize its military forces. The city, which was slowly recovering from the wounds of the past, saw thousands of new immigrants from all over the country and South America. Despite the enormous resources of the region, the city is the poorest in the country. General Alcazar’s government promised a $350 billion investment to rebuild the whole city and turn it into the country’s most modern city. Overview of the city, located in the middle of the mountains. Chaotic traffic in the streets of Hullaqa. 90% of the streets of the city are not paved and are pretty narrow, which makes Hullaqa the worst place in San Theodoros to drive. The Cristo Blanco a 30 meters (98ft) tall art deco statue, built in 1960 after the terrible earthquake in order to protect the city. Hundreds of people come each day to pray or visit this monument.

Kellan. 600,000 beautiful residents. Kellan Valley. 1.1 million residents. Kellan continues to inspire with it's smart planning, controlled sprawl, and a city government that stands out from the others. Replies Are At The Bottom Sorry for the lack of updates, its because of pure laziness and no inspiration, sorry for future mediocre updates (including this one). These pics were taken 3 weeks ago, and about 30 are ready for Benjamin's cj taken between 1 and 5 months ago. Um...yeah its a news thingy! Kellan's Lakefront District continues it's "Sky Sprawl" trend. Under the new city government, the Lakefront District can approve buildings faster since each of Kellan's urban villages now have a SPUB (Semi-Parallel Unified Budget), which means that the budget of each urban village is like an independent cities budget, but since it is unified another urban village can borrow money from a larger/bigger profit budget (such as the Lakefront District) with no worries. The Black Tower has surprisingly satisfied building enthusiasts because of the color caused by the reflection of Kellan Lake. Many have given the named this building's color Navy-Black, saying even though it is obviously black it looks blue at the same time. When you go Northbound on the Lakefront Expressway, you enter Kellan's North Central urban village, the second most populated urban village, with 142,872 residents, quickly catching up to the Lakefront District's 224,446 residents. North Central is quickly growing because farms are turning into medium density urban sprawl, which will be shown in the pics below. Lakefront District "borrows" 65% of North Central's profited budget, since North Central has a huge profit because it has 145k residents and only 6k jobs and doesn't have to spend a lot on stuff like office towers or other stuff, which makes it a bedroom community. Most of the residents commute to the Lakefront District like the rest of Kellan and Chandler. Another Walmart, something that the American and Henderson west coast is becoming increasingly addicted to. Previously a Kmart was going to be built here for $19 million, then a Target for $20 million, but Walmart massively outbid the two, buying the land for $31 million and another $9 million for the adjacent Sam's Club, which is operated by Walmart. More suburban sprawl. You can see the tiny bits of farm left, before those too turn into apartments and shops... And even more suburban sprawl, which has been considered urban sprawl by some due to its density and proximity to a major urban center. I'm not sure if this stuff ever ends, its too much for me to handle, especially when its below freezing outside. This was the first to start the trend in sprawlifying the farming urban village of North Central. It can also be seen from satellite pictures of the Kellan Metro as tiny weird squares. In fact, a similar neighborhood by the same architect is being planned in Lake Jillian, attempting to turn the forested urban suburb into a city like the rest of the valley, which will boost Lake Jillian's population for 28,000 to 95,000. Zoom in to see all the details like how Lake Jillian is a forested suburb surrounding a lake, or how the Lakefront District looks more like a downtown than the actual downtown on the Downtown Peninsula. During the Early Middle Ages, most of the area was part of the Kingdom of Munster, ruled by the Eóganachta dynasty. Prior to this date, the area was ruled by the Dáirine and Corcu Loígde overlords from the early 7th century onwards, perhaps beginning with the notable career of Faílbe Flann mac Áedo Duib. Later rulers from the Eóganachta who would dominate a greater part of Ireland were Cathal mac Finguine and Feidlimid mac Cremthanin. Notable regional kingdoms and lordships of Early Medieval Munster were Iarmuman (West Munster), Osraige (Ossory), Uí Liatháin, Uí Fidgenti, Éile, Múscraige, Ciarraige Luachra, Corcu Duibne, Corcu Baiscinn, and Déisi Muman. By the 9th century the Gaels had been joined by Norse Vikings who founded towns such as Cork, Waterford and Limerick, for the most part incorporated into a maritime empire by the Dynasty of Ivar, who periodically would threaten Munster with conquest in the next century. Around this period Ossory broke away from Munster. The 10th century saw the rise of the Dalcassians (probably descendants of the ancient Mairtine, a sept of the Iverni/Érainn), who had earlier annexed Thomond, north of the Shannon to Munster. Their leaders were the ancestors of the O'Brien dynasty and spawned Brian Bóruma, perhaps the most noted High King of Ireland, and several of whose descendants were also High Kings. By 1118 Munster had fractured into the Kingdom of Thomond under the O'Briens, the Kingdom of Desmond under the MacCarthy dynasty (Eóganachta), and the short-lived Kingdom of Ormond under the O'Kennedys (another Dalcassian sept). The three crowns of the old Munster flag represent these three late kingdoms. This flag can easily be confused with the flag of Dublin which has three castles in a similar pattern on a blue background; In fact now there is another flag. There was Norman influence from the 14th century, due to adventuring of the FitzGerald, de Clare and Butler houses, two of whom carved out earldoms within the Lordship of Ireland, the Earls of Desmond eventually becoming independent potentates, for a time the greatest in Ireland, while the Earls of Ormond remained closer to England. The O'Brien of Thomond and MacCarthy of Desmond surrendered and regranted sovereignty to the Tudors in 1543 and 1565, joining the Kingdom of Ireland. The terrible Desmond Rebellions, led by the FitzGeralds, soon followed. in 1801 was born the kingdom of England and Ireland. In this years Munster had a strong cultural and economic growth , but people do not want to be dependent on another realm , but he wanted to become an independent nation. Despite this feeling of dissatisfaction with the presence of the British in the country, the social situation has remained relatively stable until is arrived the Great Hunger , which is a real famine and hit all the kingdom , and in particular to the west. This famine caused the ' increase in the feeling of rebellion and in the twentieth century came the war that led to the secession of the Irish Free State . After the birth of the Irish Free State , Munster was one of the strongholds of Irish republicans . The Republicans thought that by controlling Munster would could renegotiate the treaty with England for rebuild the state of Ireland . But the leader of the Republicans Lynch because of this tactic has been repeatedly criticized by the same Republicans who thought that this would have lengthened the time of the war , then it would be better to attack the offensive. However, the Anti-Treaty side(who were supported by a large group of rebels from the Irish Republican Army), lacked artillery and armoured cars, both of which the Free State had to borrow from the British. The Free State launched an offensive against the Munster Republic in July 1922. Limerick and Waterford were taken easily, and Cork became the last county independent of the Free State. Michael Collins sent the Free State Army by sea to Union Hall in Co. Cork and to Fenit in Co. Kerry. Cork was retaken on August 10. His opponents then moved into the countryside and continued small-scale guerrilla warfare until April 1923. Munster as throughout Ireland remained neutral in both world wars, but in the second world war, the Irish government authorized the French to use the port of Cork . For the citizens of Munster do not piaque the gesture of the government because they would have preferred to stay completely out of the conflict. This gesture of the government did grow discontent among the citizens to give birth to a party that preserved the rights of Munster at the beginning but at the end of World War II it became a party that promoted the independence of the county. At first, the party was not very successful but at the end of the 2nd World War, when many companies fled to Dublin causing many consequences to the economy of Munster , many citizens began to demand independence because the Irish government did nothing to stop this continuous increase in unemployment and poverty. Despite the number of supporters of the indipendence of Munster, the Government of the Republic of Ireland did not want to listen to the demands of the citizens of Munster, but in 1953 there was a mobilization of the cities that lasted almost 3 months and also almost 78 % of the population did not pay the taxes as a form of protest. So in May 1954, the Irish prime minister met with key supporters of independence of Munster, and after 11 summits, the irish government ceased, and proposed a referendum only for the people of Munster for the 15 to 16 February 1956 . Of course, the referendum ended with 61% of the population that voted for independence and in April 1956, the Prime Minister of Ireland declared Munster an independent republic. After independence was born a provisional government, the government was led by Frank Suleman that to jump-start the economy financed many economic interventions especially investment in culture and the construction of new infrastructure . In this way he made down the national economy and unemployment went down in five years from 25.7% to 18.5%, also the collapse unemployment caused a recovery in consumption. The Economy In recent years, the national government has invested a lot of money in the alternative energy giving plenty of space for photovoltaic and wind energy (especially in the south of the country). The country has no major mineral resources, but it is important the agriculture and the industry of the services that take up 76% of the workers and lately there is also growth the technology industry..The unemployment rate is currently 8.8%.In 2008, when Ireland became a country with high economic risk due to the economic crisis, thanks to the accommodative policies of the government,Munster is managed to limit the economic damage using the same system of government Linapsus when Munster received the indipendence. In fact, in time ranging from 2008 to 2011 (the year when the recession is over in Munster) were born 3 new highways in front of the 2 existing, and has increased by 10% funding to health and education. In addition, the government has also adopted measures that have benefited the investments in the country, causing a sharp increase of the Irish economic capitals.

Hello, everyone! I'm new to here, so if there's anything wrong, please tell me about that. This is my first CJ at Simtropolis, and it's about the region I'm currently working on. Not all blocks will be displayed here, since some of them are ill-structured or badly designed. As I come from a non-English speaking country, I may slip now and then in my grammar. Expect some weird expressions... Any ideas and comments are welcomed(in fact, I need it). Today I'm going to show you the town Novaland. It is a town surrounded by mountain. A park in the neighbourhood. A tiny church in the centre of the town. A corner of the shopping mall located in the western part of Novaland. Some neighbourhood shoots, which you may found a little repetitive. Shown in the bottom right of the following picture is a community college. And here are a few random shoots around the town. Finally, it is the overview of the town. Full Resolution (4149 x 2538)

View Album Well, you might have gotten the feeling that the above photo-tour is somewhat... incomplete. And you are right - that city never survived... You see, it was built on the of side this guy here - Then one day I SimGod decided to unleash a little bad weather and disaster and have some fun... yeah well, that lasted until I blacked out and did something... very... VERY... wrong... So here is just a parting shot - the last we'll ever see of this once-well-to-do town...

Subway Line U12A (phantom line) In 1989, the city committee decided to build a new metro line called U12A, which was to link the new urban area Mitcheese with major transport interchange in the center of the city train station S8, S45, S89, and the station Rehwiese on the line U1, and Tannenallee on the line U12. At the beginning of the construction of 6 stations have been identified: Mitcheese, Apfelallee, Hohe Ahren, Rehwiese (interchange U1), Hentzeweg, Tannenallee (interchange U12). Construction of the new line began in February 1989 and consisted of two phases of construction: the first were laid construction sites for stations Tannenallee (February 1989), Hentzeweg (March 1989) and Rehwiese (June 1989) and after the end of construction in 1996 were work began on the construction of the station Hohe Ahren (May 1996). The plot line U12A from the station Tannenallee to Hohe Ahren was under the ground, and the rest of the line was to go over the surface, as like as city train, and to come to the Mitcheese station via Apfelallee, which was connected to the line S11, S24, S26. In 1998 began the first premise that the section of the line will not be ready in time for 2000, as it was planned. The work on this section were first stopped in September 1998, when a piece of equipment was forwarded to build a more promising line of subway U13 (which was later renamed the U3A), and on the line U12A were working in the already constructed tunnels between stations Tannenallee - Hohe Ahren. September 1998: Stop the main works on the line U12A. November 1998: Begins extension of the platform Mitcheese. December 1998 - February 1999: Expanding platform Mitcheese completed, built a platform for the future subway station . Work began on the construction of the flyover for the paths toward Apfelallee. March - June 1999: Erected and prepared ground for the plant Apfelallee. July 1999: All of the tunnels construction equipment transported to the construction of transmission lines U13 and U14. August 1999: construction of a protective cap on the entrance to the tunnel by Apfelallee. October 1999: The decision to conserve land line Tannenallee - Hohe Ahren. October 1999: Construction of the station Apfelallee completely stopped construction site dismantled. December 1999: Construction of paths from Mitcheese - stopped. Reversal dead ends - are over. February 2000: A new plan for the construction and modernization of the line U12A. March 2000 - September 2002: Work on the sections of the line - not conducted. September 2002: The line U12A renamed U38. (the name of the line will be set in 2021) November 2002 - March 2004: A complete inspection and repair of the line from Tannenallee - Hohe Ahren. April 2004: Began construction of the tunnel between the line U12A and U12, for communication with the subway system. August 2004: Began the planning and construction of the new station Neuer Steg which should continue the line U12A to the south of the city. December 2005: The construction of tunnels between Tannenallee - Neuer Steg complete. Neuer Steg station built only in designs . Outputs up there . Reversal tunnel behind the station - to be built. February 2006: In the section of the line Tannenallee - Hohe Ahren were flown by two trains of 6 cars. March 2006: The team diggers enters in the tunnel between Rehwiese - Hentzeweg. Witnesses took lots of photos , and assure that the line is fully built and heavily guarded. June 2007 - February 2011: The whole line U12A temporarily closed. November 2011: Announced new plans for the reconstruction of the line. November 2011 - April 2012: Work on the line - not conducted. Construction of the stantion Neuer Steg is completed. April 2012 - November 2012: Work on the construction of the station Mitcheese restored and fully implemented. May 2012: Organized by shuttle trains between stations Neuer Steg and Rehwiese, the interchange between the lines U12A and the U12 is not made. Work on the construction of interchange restored and will be completed by the end of 2012. October 2012:The movement of trains is fully consistent with the approved plan. January 2013: The construction of the station Tulpenweg and Havelstrase are started. February - September 2013: Construction of the new station Ahiener Platz is continues.

If you've been following Nyhaven in the CJ forum, then you've already seen part of Nyhaven's main university, which I was still working on when I resurrected this CJ. Well, it's now finished, so here's a look at the complete campus! Building the University of Nyhaven was a challenge, because the campus crosses a quad border; half of it is in my Nyhaven Central quad, and half is next door, in Nyhaven East. While building in Nyhaven Central, I had to carefully map where all the buildings were, as well as where paths crossed the border, and then make all the necessary connections in Nyhaven East, making sure to put the right buildings on the other side of the border. As a result, each of the pictures below is a cross-border mosaic and required careful image-editing to get exactly right. If I've done my job right, though, you won't even notice the border. Let's find out, shall we? The east side of campus contains the university's medical center and football stadium, as well as its largest dorm complex. Just a block north of campus is Papillon Manor, where Nyhaven's mayor lives. An overview of the north side of campus. This mosaic should put the university into context. Midtown Nyhaven and Ebenezer Square are at the top, with the R-3 double-deck freeway skirting the east side of Hunters Island. Towards the center, across Elochoman Slough, is the university's south side. Finally, the inner suburb of Eastfields is at bottom, tucked into a bend in the Elochoman River. Last but not least, here's a overview of (almost) the entire campus. Zoning in these images is still being developed and should not be taken as a final product.

So this is the region planning. With dotted green line is the 1x1 highway, with the full green line is the 2x2 highway. With the blac dotted line is the rail network and the black circles are the railstations. The main city ~TOMIS~ occupies tiles: 6,7,10,11,12,15 and 16. TILE 6 - oak valley district: suburban area with some agriculture on the outskirts, large commercial centers, office parks, individual housing and small apartments buildings and some small one floor shops. ( funny fact: i have a big issue with a skyscraper with 40 fl that keeps popping up from the middle of the villas:))). Also here is the International Airport. TILE 7 - trout creek district: subruban area with ome agriculture on the outskirts, large commercial centers, office parks, individual housing and small apartments buildings and some small one floor shops. This is home to the University of Tomis and some high tech industry. TILE 10 - tomis springs district: subruban area with ome agriculture on the outskirts, large commercial centers, office parks, individual housing and small apartments buildings and some small one floor shops. Here you can find the LUNA FUN PARK. TILE 11 - downtown: here's the real deal, it's all about skyscrapers baby lot's of them TILE 12 - the industrial district: ugly, dirty, poluted. you know'em, you'hate'em but you can't leave without'em ))) TILE 15 - uppereastside: this is the old city with trams running along the streets, with many historical landmarks, some old skyscrapers but mostly mid size development, many parks and plazas and the old harbour is now a beautiful marina. Comment Replies @pasqualegiò: Then, I'm replyless... Just kidding, thanks for commenting! @Tonraq: Thanks! It's pretty much what happens in reality. Everything is a mix between pre-war, post-war, pre-Mauerfall and contemporary buildings on this area. @SimCoug: Thank you! To be honest, the part of the real Berlin where this CJ is tries to be based on is not that dense, there are some parks and open areas here and there, but... There are so many BATs telling me "plop me, plop me!"... @TekindusT: Less complaining, more updating! @DonVitoCorleone: It can look like random, but I can ensure you it is not... I'm always trying to find a balance between old and new buildings as I see in RL, but yeah, there is also room for a bit of improvisation. @feeroz123: Thank you for the suggestion, but if I did so, this CJ would be made of only 3-4 updates, given that the area is very, very small, smaller than a small city tile. Perhaps on the next update I show a whole neighbourhood update. @Gugu3 (x2): Thanks for commenting! @SC4L0ver: ¡Gracias por comentar! @Huston: Thank you! It can look difficult, but there is always that fine diagonal mid-rise that just fits in there. If it doesn't, photoedit it! @Fox: I think you could suffer an extreme awesomeness overload if you were provided with more awesomeness, Fox! Thanks for commenting! @spursrule14: Always nice to be in the Win Column! ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEFQZEYRNYk There is one time of the year when the open-airs wrap up, when kite flyers leave Tempelhofer Feld deserted, when no more Turks make barbecues at Volkspark Friedrichshain, and where youngsters stop drinking Sternis at Mauerpark. Winter is that time of the year when all Berliners "hibernate" and the only activity happens somewhere with heating. Meanwhile an omnipresent white cover embraces the city. It always begins with a very discreet snowfall, tiny flakes pushed by the wind, meanwhile you're at work. Some minutes later, a curtain of thick flakes extends in front of you, and you regret not having picked your boots today. Fortunately, the snowplows are deployed in a few minutes, and roads are quickly cleared. It gets dark very early these days (but even earlier in December), and when people get back home from work, the electricity consumption increases. The small Böcklerparkufer power plant needs some overtime in order to cope with the demand. The Landwehrkanal is frozen at some points, but still navigable. Despite the cold and the snow, Berlin (and the Kreuzberg district), can be a very warm place if you find the appropriate heating. While outside temperatures drop, you can enjoy the greatest moments with friends or family, or clubbing at Palais Theatre, perhaps the best remedy against the depression caused by The White City.
