The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

This town is caught between old and new... (and ugly) ;-)

It has invested in wind power, but still needs the old coal power plant...

Some clean industries have settled in the area...

Alas, the city had a problem. The defunct mine shaft turned museum draws a moderate number of tourists...

But the derelict industrial compound failed to draw high profile investors... a sad sight at day or night.

Some entrepreneurs then decided to bring entertainment and nightlife to town - with mixed results, as their plan did not only attract restaurants, movie houses, discos, night clubs, dance halls and such... there was also an influx of rather seedy shops and stores, and a certain increase in crime - though nothing the town can't cope with in times to come.

During daytime, the area is still a bit drab...

But it really comes alive at night :-)

We'll keep improving ;-)

really good, I like the feel of this area, it reminds me a lot of the area's in the Eastern Appilachian mountains, the old rust belt where the citties and towns are still trying to figure out what there identitiy is going to be without the industries of the past.

I have a smal critique if I may, and when I say small I meen bloody miniscule; in the picture directly below "Some clean industries have settled in the area..." that shows the rail bridge in more detail I noticed the seawall doesn't continue under the bridge. I'm not familiar with this perticular sea wall because I've chosen to use other ones myself, but I know many of them have a piece that connects over the edge of the square so that you can place it under bridges. I think that would be a nice little touch to place there if at all possible, if not it's still a very good CJ I just noticed that little bit and thought I'd offer my advice.

Near-perfection has once again been achieved. Something not at all related to your rabid use of my cranes. ;) I'll be sure to make more construction equipment for you!

This CJ looks magnificent, I love the whole industrial feel. I must say though, their solar farm isn't best positioned to catch the midday sun, judging by the shadows of the wind turbines :P

It looks great, can't wait to see more

sea wall

Yes, I know that there are under-bridge pieces... here I had a problem of some sort - I think the piece would cut into the rail line creating some sort of a "barrier"... so I rather left it out, which seemed to be the "lesser evil" ;-)

Keep it coming :-)

How long does something like this take you?

Oh well - takes many hours... :-)

Great mixture of bats & MMPs use in your pics. Your attention to detail is impeccable.

Hate to do it, but can't resist asking. The power plant (I assume) and the green roof factory building, are those available on any of the exchanges? Most haves IMO.

Wouldn't ya know it, had the Sampo already, just don't have any grown in the city yet so didn't think I had it.. hahaha.

Since I don't seem to dig as much at SC4D, no wonder why I haven't seen that particular plant before. The large window are absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks for the heads up.
