Nature and the wild

This is the map I'm working on. A 18km by 18km city tile.

Up close the map feels massive.

I'm using texture replacements for the water and ground. The water is especially good.

The map is Grand Teton National Park.

A lot of the flora on the map is from more recent creations on the Steam Workshop.

The mountains are breathtaking.

The map creator did a great job sculpting the mountains.

Additionally, the vanilla game has rocks and rock formations to complement the terrain. In future entries I will show the results of this.

I am using a mod called Ultimate Eyecandy to make the most of LUTs. It also allows for exact control of lighting which is great because the vanilla lighting was always too bright and yellow.

I am using the Roads United North America mod for road texture replacements.

The small road snaking off to the left is where I will build the first village.

Next entry, due sometime next weekend, I will show the finished village.

I haven't used C:S for a long time.  These are awesome graphics and use of the program.  The textures look a bit smoother than I usually see, like a median cut filter.   In SC4 we're so deprived of a proper 3D camera mode and perspective.

Superb pictures. And I like the water textures too. But the mountain/rock textures? To me they seem closer to painted ones than to real ones.

...? ... pastose .... ? .... maybe the word?

I thing this was great. I would like some more undergrowth and more dense woods in some areas.

Still a very good map!

Great pictures :D

I think the textures are a bit low res but you know what? This feels to me like it gives a painting like style to your screenshots.

Image 8 looks like a picture of a real mountain, are you sure you didn't photoshop that in?  (just joking of course)

C.S. is different, lacks history, highway system less sophisticated; some features like 3D look and in this CJ awesome terraforming compensate yet a SC4 Urban city look ?

Terrain, water mod´s do give a more bach to earth look, well done !

Aaaah, here you are, on C:S ...  I do not like this game (there are advantages and also disadvantages), but I have to admit that these pictures are nice ... But I will miss you on SC4:)

Yeah , I have to agree on the SC4 mentioning . But here is a whole new medium to show off your artistry . Though I still have faith that you will return to SC4 just because you are the S**t at it . Take care and looking forward to your next entry .
