Wonderful updates!!  You illustrate the storyline very well.  I really like the dirt roads running through the forest and the little cabins.  Looking great!  44.gif  44.gif

Greetings again, Mr. Leech10. The new update is indeed here and it could barely be better. The pictures are beautiful: the rain and fog effects are perfect, the jungle and lake are great and even better is the waterfall, which is the best I've seen. As far as populated areas are concerned, Ferneon has a very nice suburban style (although a farming community), and I liked very much the new park at Myon City, with the canal and locks. The latter were amazing - although I don't know how strong they are. With what one hears at the news one wants to give more gravity to security issues. Very nice the embassy, too. I have already had a look of it but a building always looks better in a natural setting. These for the pictures. The storylines are very interesting, too. The arrest of those Uptasauntians will surely help clear the planet of all of them. Perhaps a better system should be used to monitor the skies. That way future invaders would be avoided. Well, so long for now. Waiting for the next update.

The story gets even thicker! I like the way you edit your pics, not too over-the-top but very effective!

You're right on the nail with this one!

    August, Year 17

    hspace=0http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/1470/myonaugust1709uj.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Thulan is growing quickly now that the airport is finished, and is beginning to add many new homes for the new workers who are coming to town. A small dock area has also been built for people to store their boats, as well as a place for the small fishing industry to operate from.

    hspace=0http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/6836/myonaugust1712lb.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The airport has been built to accommodate the traffic predicted in the future so expansion won't be needed for awhile, but Thulan needed to borrow around 200 million dollars to complete construction. It may be awhile until they are able to pay back this money, but they never know when a new area rich in ore will be found in the mine, so an exact estimate is unavailable.

    hspace=0http://img283.imageshack.us/img283/74/myonaugust1725mh.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The farms have expanded up to the point where the Thulan River comes back around, and 2 bridges have been built across it to allow for future expansion. Development will slow, however, while the city pays back the money it owes.

    Hurricane Alex (the storm that has entered the Melemon ocean recently) has gained strength to become a category 2 storm with winds of around 100 MPH in the core of the storm. It has been found that an intense updraft exists where they eye of a normal hurricane is, and this updraft creates very low pressures in the center of the storm, however, the pressure rises to a normal storm level soon after you leave the center. The storm is currently headed towards and area 200 miles north of where the Vacimin river empties into the Melemon Ocean.

    sirgeoj2: Glad you like it!

    jacqulina: Thanks for the comment!

    Bill the Greek: The alien ships have not been seen entering the atmosphere at all, the only time they have come up on radar seems to be when they are making the buzzing noise. They mush have some sort of stealth equipment that would make radar or other monitoring equipment ineffective, and I am glad you like it!

    warll: Your entry has been accepted, you will show up in the next update. Since Myon is only in its 17th year, you can't have been born on Myon though.

    Exhagaga: Thanks for the comment!

    Amiton continues to expand to the north, and the area that will be the downtown area when the city is fully developed is now full of new buildings. The city is close behind Myon City in population, but it is unknown if it will ever grow to have a higher population or not.

    hspace=0http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/5434/myonoctober1715hq.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Just to the south of the future downtown area is the current downtown area, where several new apartments have gone up, providing cheaper living space for the high amounts of newcomers to Myon.

    hspace=0http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/1705/myonoctober1720lj.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Back in Myon City we find Daniel Dessler's house, located next to the only avenue in the city, just to the west of the government buildings, as well as across the avenue from the school where Vasileios Peidis teaches at. Daniel is the economic advisor in the Senate building, where he along with the other advisors help the senators in the areas that they deal with, as well as create pre-laws dealing with their sections. The senate then votes on whether to accept the pre-law or veto it, and if over 65% are in favor for it, it becomes a law. Daniel usually stays at home when he is not at work, but he occasionally goes out to eat at one of the several restaurants in town.

    Hurricane Alex is beginning to slow down in its speed, but the wind speed continues to increase over the warm ocean. It seems to change direction often, and currently, the area where it will make landfall is unknown.

    Marvin: Glad you like it!

    warll: That is just some embankments and some construction lots, it has nothing to do with the rain mod, or do you mean the water texture? If you mean the water texture, it can be found here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11836 (PEG's Brigantine water mod) The other picture is just a red X, so I have no idea where to get whatever it is you are talking about.

    I like your cities. Although griddy never boring.

    I guess Warrl meant your tunnel entrance you made out of morifari's Elevated Rail Embankment Set (which I had to commit is a brilliant idea for this purpose!)

    Greetings again, Mr. Leech10. I am sorry I didn't have the chance to post earlier - I didn't have enough time (although I had seen the previous update a day after it was publicized). Very nice pictures, I must say. The development is very interesting in Thulan, and I suppose that it is indeed to grow much, since at the moment the airport is bigger that the town itself. The farms are very nice. The development in Amiton and Myon City goes on steadily; while Amiton seems to be growing in width, Myon City is growing in height. It would be interesting to see some more general pictures, so as to see how much things have changed. I would also like to welcome Mr. Dessler to our city. He is living opposite the school and so I am likely to meet him often. Finally, I would like to say that, although my presence in this CJ has been active lately (at least according to my criteria), due to the schools opening in a few days I will not have the chance to post. However, once in a while I will try to drop in so as to get informed about the developments that have taken place, and so you shouldn't think that you are losing one of your residents. Just for the time, Mr. Leech10, farewell.

    December, Year 17

    hspace=0http://img323.imageshack.us/img323/35/myondecember1707ps.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    After a long renovation project that backed up traffic throughout Amiton, the downtown portion of M1 has been sunk into the ground and an embankment has been built along it to help the traffic in the region, as the highway now has easily marked on and off ramps, and the mess of overpasses and underpasses have been removed and replaced by simple bridges over the highway. Also added are signs that tell drivers if a lane is out, and also warn of any accidents in the road ahead. While this project was expensive and frustrated drivers with the traffic jams it produced while under construction, it will be much better in the long run as the city continues to grow.

    hspace=0http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/3729/myondecember1718wa.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Myon city continues to grow to the west as there is no longer room to the north, south, and east, and the latest addition is 2 small residential neighborhoods along M1. The first roundabout in the city has been built in this area as well, and it connects 2 of the streets in the area, mostly to save space and to allow greenery instead of a larger intersection that would otherwise need to be built in its place.

    hspace=0http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/9725/myondecember1725xc.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Near the new residential development is an area where you can just go for a walk, through the forest like in the Garcer River Park, but this one is different because you can also drive through this park along the scenic paths through the forest whenever you want.

    Hurricane Alex heads for Myon City
    Hurricane Alex has changed direction once again and is speeding back up, and this time it is headed directly for Myon City. Hurricane Alex currently has a max recorded wind speed of around 180 MPH and it continues to intensify as it heads over the warm Melemon Ocean. Although the Amiton Mountains and Amiton Desert are between Myon City and the ocean, at the rate the storm is going it may be able to make its way over both the mountains and the desert before it weakens enough to be not much of a threat. As the hurricane closes in on the coast, about the only thing the citizens can do is hope that it changes direction and heads somewhere else, and that the mountains weaken it enough for it to fall apart.

    New Poll
    Daniel Dessler has come up with a new project to help the economy of the region, the M.I.R.R.(Myon Inter-Regional Railroad), and has presented it to the senate for voting. In this project, rail lines will be built to connect all the cities and towns in this region (not Thulan, it is too far away), as well as Amiton Airport and Myon Dam to allow for easy passenger and freight transport without clogging up the roads. (Myon Dam to Myon City and Myon City to Ferneon routes already exist) For this and any future projects that are made by the advisors, you will get to play the part of the senate and vote on them, for this one, just vote Yes or No, or vote option 1 or option 2.

    1: Yes, we need to have an inter-regional railroad to transport goods and other stuff.
    2: No, we do not need this at this time.

    Comments
    superchad: It is unknown what the hurricane will do at this time and where it will hit, so it may do that, or it may not, but lets hope it doesn't cause massive damage.

    Nardo69: I'm glad you like it!

    6underground: Thank you for the comment!

    Exhagaga: Glad you like it!

    jacqulina: Thanks for the comment!

    Marvin: You'll just have to wait and find out.
    Bill the Greek: I may post a region picture sometime soon to show the latest development, but you'll have to wait and see. There is plenty of time for me to go on Simtropolis and update Myon even during school time, but i understand if you are unable to post during that time.

    March, Year 18
    hspace=0http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/8951/myonmarch1808ls.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The town of Wenton, located south of Brekel and just to the east of Greg Mountain, is a small farming community of around 400 people. Wenton is known for its high number of diagonal roads for its size, as well as the first tour ever made in Myon's jungle areas. a trip down a winding dirt road ends near the Wenten River, where the foot tour begins. It then travels down several small paths down to the Wenten River, and then into the forest, before coming back to the end of the dirt road after a 2 mile hike through the deeper parts of the forest.

    hspace=0http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/6951/myonmarch1813fs.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    A quick stop back in Thulan shows some new development close to the entrances to the mine, where some new residential buildings have been built, as well as a small beach area. The river is the area where the beach is located is very calm, and is usually clear of most of the fish that live in the river, but none of the fish that do come in will do anything dangerous at all, so don't worry about them. Just up the street from the beach lives a person named Bo, he works as a scientist and an inventor at one of the factories in Thulan, but sometimes he disappears for several days and no one knows where he is. No one knows where he was originally from, he moved in shortly after the town was built, around the same time when the alien ship was discovered to the west of town, all attempts at finding out where he came from, even by asking him directly have failed, but it was discovered that he occasionally has strange visions when he is alone in his house at night.

    Myon News

    Hurricane Alex continues on its course for Myon City

    Hurricane Alex continues to intensify as it heads for Myon City, currently wind speeds in the center are a predicted 200MPH with a minimum pressure of around 584 millibars. The storm has not deviated from its path, and all around Myon City, Ferneon, Brekel, and even in Amiton and the new town of Wenton, people are stocking up on canned foods, batteries, and battery powered necessities such as can openers and small stoves. While the hurricane is predicted to loose most of its strength or even stop when it hits the Amiton Mountains, no one is taking any chances. Some people are even evacuating to Terra, and others to the town of Thulan in the tropical region of Myon far south of the hurricane. Alex is currently only about 100 miles from making landfall on the Melemon Islands just off the coast, and is expected to hit the mainland and travel through the populated areas in a little as a day and a half, and at max about 2 and a half days.

    hspace=0http://img309.imageshack.us/img309/7531/myonmarch1826im.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The Modified CS-1 named Discovery has sent back this picture of the denser section of the asteroid field, where for the first time the full size of the hole on Tronta can be seen. It seems to have grown somewhat since DSS last seen it, it appears that an asteroid from the outer belt has been attracted by Tronta's gravity and has slammed into the crater, blasting out several large chunks and releasing magma from deep within the planet. Discovery is now heading at full speed back to Myon, and is expected to return in a few months.

    The M.I.R.R project has received a near unanimous vote for enacting, all but 1 senator was for the construction of a regional railroad. (All that voted for it in the CJ were for it.) Construction will begin on a rail line from Ferneon to Amiton once the remains of Hurricane Alex are out of the area.

    Comments

    warll: I usually just make up most of the ideas, but others come from elsewhere.

    Bo_almighty: Thanks for the comment and welcome to the CJ!

    jacqulina: Thank you for the comment!

    Marvin: Thanks for the comment!

    All: Thanks for voting in the poll!
