    Three Rivers City has expanded to fill the entire base of the peninsula, and is beginning to expand to the tip of the peninsula. Just like on the south side, the north side has a waterfront area along the Wenten/Melime Rivers, and more land has been added using the dirt and rocks dug up in the industrial port area.

    hspace=0http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3125/myonmay1915wv.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The industrial port is still under construction, and a new inlet has been added deep into the land. It is unknown why it was built so much bigger than the first one, as 2 smaller ones like the already built one could have been built instead. There are rumors that the Myon Military has bought some of the land in the port, but as of now this cannot be confirmed.

    hspace=0http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/292/myonmay1925uk.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    In Myon City, the area to the west of M1 is beginning to be developed, and while a lot of the new areas of the city are forested, the population has risen by about a thousand. The amount of people coming in has slowed after the impact of Hurricane Alex, but now it is beginning to increase once again.

    Myon News

    Just as quickly as it started, the high UFO activity has dropped to around 0. Because of this, it is still unknown what the UFOs where, but it is believed that whatever they were knew that an investigation was starting and they didn't want to be found out.

    Tropical Storm Brittany has intensified into a category 3 Hurricane with winds of around 114 MPH (183 Kph) and a central pressure of 853mb. It is moving eastward at a speed of 32 MPH (51 Kph) and expected to make landfall tomorrow around 150 miles (241 km) to the north of where Alex made landfall.

    The Myon City EL-rail bypass has been completed, and currently the Amiton-Myon City rail loop is around 60% complete.

    Located to the southeast of Thulan is the new coastal community of Obie. With close access to Thulan River, as well as the ocean, it is expected to grow quickly as trade with the zukes begins to accelerate. This area is where most of the zukes live, and that is another reason to build more communities in this area, so they can be easily reached.

    hspace=0http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/8365/myonjuly1914xx.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Back in Myon City, there is a large construction project going on in the downtown area. Myon City Architecture, (MCA), has bought a large plot of land to begin construction of the new Headquarters of the Myon Robotics Corporation. Also planned is an underground shopping mall stretching throughout the area, and even under the streets, as well as an underground parking garage.

    hspace=0http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/9995/myonjuly1929bi.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Just to the northwest of the construction, in the area first settled by the people of Myon-1, Is the historic downtown area. Just like when construction started in the city, the buildings are made out of stone and wood, and only contain metals for necessary parts like the skeleton and utilities. While the opening of Thulan Mine dramatically lowered the cost of constructing with metals for use as decorative parts of the building, stone is still commonly used here to keep the buildings in the same style. The newest of these buildings, the Pioneer Park Building, is 16 stories tall and is just slightly higher than the Myon City Embassy building just to the east, making it Myon's Tallest Building.

    hspace=0http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/3381/myonjuly1934be.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Here is the location of the Myon City Mine, a much smaller mine than the Thulan Mine, and this one is used only to collect stone. So far no valuable minerals or ores have been found, but you never know...

    News:
    Hurricane Brittany made landfall with winds of a little over 114 MPH (183 Kph) and a central pressure of 846mb. It continued through the empty regions well to the north of the explored areas, before dieing out in the Amiton Mountains.

    Comments:
    Why is it so quiet here?

    September, Year 19

    hspace=0http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/5905/myonseptember1900qd.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Amiton is growing to the north, and many more businesses are springing up next to the Amiton Mountains. More apartment buildings are springing up in the downtown area, and the city limits is getting closer to Amiton Airport/Myon Spaceport.

    hspace=0http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/7307/myonseptember1917bi.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Myon City is also expanding, and it is getting close to reaching the cliffs by the Amiton Desert on the west side of town. In the downtown area, several more office towers have been built in the historic district, and the underground mall that was a part of the Myon Robotics Corporation HQ has been completed. Currently, all throughout the downtown area there is a network of underground tunnels and rooms, some of which are shelters for the government buildings and the embassy, but most of them are full of parking garages, more office space, general equipment to help the city run well, as well as the underground mall. This underground development connects nearly all new buildings with up to 6 levels of underground space, and by having much of the necessities for the new development below ground, it allows more room to build above ground. In the future, subway tunnels will be built below that, but for now it is already helping traffic by providing a safe place to walk to other buildings in the area. (And there are people who drive through the underground parking network as well)

    hspace=0http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6573/myonseptember1929zd.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The port in Three Rivers City has grown a lot since we last saw it, and now a small industrial manufacturing area has also been built, helping new goods be made to reduce the number of imports needed to a level that is good for the economy.

    New Poll
    Where do you think the next exploration of Myon should be at?

    1: North of Thulan, into the flatter areas.
    2: East of Thulan, towards the eastern mountain range
    3: Southwest of Thulan, back into the smaller mountains where the Uptasauntians were captured
    4: To the north of Myon City, following Myon River.

    November, Year 19

    hspace=0http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/4298/myonnovember1909fi.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    As Myon City continues to expand to the north, the growth has caused the total Myon population to rise above 40,000 people. More growth is expected, both to the north, to the west, as well as in the downtown area of the city.

    hspace=0http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/4616/myonnovember1911uw.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    There has been a lot of residential development near the Myon City Embassy building where several apartment complexes and condos rise high above the streets along a ground level section of the EL rail. Despite the recent growth in the downtown area, traffic has stayed light as most of the traffic is kept off of the streets due to the underground parking network.

    Myon News

    hspace=0http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/5656/myonnovember1922ky.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Back on Terra, Myon has bought a small island in the southern ocean to help improve trade with the countries there. The picture is of the future site of Galaenther City, which will be located on a flat area of the island next to a natural harbor on the south side of the island. While most of the island is mountainous, the area around the harbor is relatively flat and a good place to build a city.

    Bomb explodes in downtown Myon City

    At around 11:30 AM this morning, A loud explosion was heard in the downtown area that shook the ground through the area. From what has been discovered the investigative force knows that a truck was driven into the parking garage area beneath the city, and then was driven to an area just north of the Myon colonization museum on the B5 level, where the bomb was detonated. The explosion ripped through the parking garage destroying or burning everything within 50 feet of the truck, and also blasting through the floors above and below it, so the levels B3, B4, B5, and B6 all were heavily damaged. The power supply to the downtown area was knocked out by the blast, and it wasn't until 3:20 PM that the power was restored, but the emergency power systems allowed the rescuers and firefighters to get down to the explosion site. A total of 25 people were killed and another 73 people were injured in the blast. It is believed that the suicide truck bombers were part of the CCU, and there seems to still be members of the CCU on Myon, and an investigation is now going on to try to find and arrest the remaining terrorists before they can strike. It is currently unknown whether the terrorists were going to try to attack Pioneer Park Building or the Myon Capital building, as the explosion was somewhere between the 2 buildings, or if they were just randomly picking a spot under the city.

    January, Year 20

    hspace=0http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2264/myonjanuary2000ww.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The construction of the port in Galaenther City is coming along nicely so far, and the Myon Military has bought some land in the port area to house the newly bought destroyers for protection. Construction on the rest of the city will begin once the port is nearing completion, and the port is expected to open next year.

    hspace=0http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/592/myonjanuary2012eb.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Construction of the MRC HQ, along with several other office buildings in the area, is now complete. (It's the silvery building) The main entrance to the underground mall can also be seen, along with the city hall nearby as well.

    hspace=0http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/9424/myonjanuary2020pv.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Three Rivers City has extended all the way to the end of the peninsula, and at the very tip there is already some large buildings that were built. Most of the peninsula will be built up due to a shortage of space, but the surrounding areas will stay mostly lo-rise.

    Exploration Data: See character update for Bruce Stanton.

    Myon News
     2 men were recently arrested in Myon City yesterday under chargers of attempted terrorism, and these arrests were linked to the recent bombing in the downtown area. They were caught trying to drive a rented truck into the underground parking area, where they accidentally skidded on turning into the entranceway and hit a car exiting the parking garage. Upon examining the truck, 600 pounds of explosives were found in the back, guaranteeing their arrest. They will be sent to the Myon jail until it is time for their trial, where their sentence will be determined. On an examination of their house around 300 pounds of explosives were found, as well as plans for a bombing of the newly completed MRC HQ and the Myon City Embassy Building. It is now known that these people were members of the CCU, and the people of the city are thankful for the arrest of the terrorists. Security measures are being increased in the downtown area, and a law may be passed making it illegal to have a truck in the underground parking areas except for private areas of certain buildings.

    Character Updates

    Bruce Stanton
     is currently preparing to explore the northern part of Myon River along with the sea that it empties into on the north side of the territory. He will take ATVs like during the previous explorations to make the exploration go quicker, as well as to provide protection against the wild animals up there which are much larger than the rest of the area for unknown reasons. The exploration will begin shortly with an exploration of the area north of the ending of M1. Bruce is currently 46.

    Jeff Anderson is still working on the designs of buildings for the Myon City area, where already several of his designs have been built. He is also continuing to design smaller homes, but as the city grows he thinks he will mostly work on skyscrapers and other larger buildings for the downtown area. At home he is busy caring for his daughter Jenna Anderson, who is currently 4, and is taking up most of his free time at home. Jeff is currently 38.

    Vasileios Peidis is still teaching in Myon City, and so far is continuing to live just as he has for the past few years. Some people say that he is planning on becoming an architect as he has been drawing several different buildings during his free time, but as of now, he has not said that he will or will not be an architect, so this is still up for discussion. Vasileios is currently 31.

    Daniel Dessler has recently moved to a home in one of the residential towers in the downtown area of Myon City and is continuing to work as the economic advisor. He is still working on the M.I.R.R. project, and so far there have been no reports of anything new being developed in his office. Dan is currently 25.

    Bo is working on a new space mission to try to get to an unidentified object that has somehow made its way into the outer asteroid belt in the solar system. He and many other scientists will work on getting past the asteroids to get to it, and then figuring out what it is once they make it to the object. Bo is currently 23.

    Trent Piening has been going through several zuke villages in the area piecing together the history of them during the time that people started colonizing the planet and what has happened during those times. So far he has figured out that at first the zukes believed that they were the aliens that attacked them several times before, but as the people continued to expand the zukes realized that they were not a danger to them like the aliens were, and that is what brought about the meeting of the 2 species. Trent is currently 48.

    Gina Prenger is also working on the planned space mission to the unidentified object, and currently she is thinking that they will use the CS-1 Discovery with some added shielding to deflect any asteroids that they couldn't avoid. She believes that there won't be too much required shielding as the asteroids do not move very fast and therefore they are easy to track and avoid with plenty of time. Gina is currently 49.

    I'm enjoying keeping track of this CJ...have just been doing a quick scan through it all, and came across the picture of the very first building in Myon City ... what a long way it's come!

    I'd like to make a request, though I understand it may very well not be possible... could you post a full region picture, or series of pictures? Because I'm not very good at knowing whare all the settlements are in relation to one another.

    March, Year 20

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-0.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    The main dock construction is now complete in Galaenther City, but there is still a lot of work to do in building the processing and shipping plants, as well as the buildings that will get the materials imported ready to be used in factories or ready to be sold.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-1.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    Back in Myon City, Bruce is beginning his exploration of the area to the north along Myon River. It all starts out on M1, where they drive north across the Garcer River Bridge out of the city. They soon reach the end of the highway, where they drive off into the jungle, and start looking around at the creatures that are there.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-2.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    Most of the creatures hide when the ATVs approach, but a some of them, including a hole digging creature about the size of a dog, and the Myonian Squirrels which are seen almost everywhere once you get away from the development. Suddenly, a large brown creature appears out of some bushes and goes after the hole digging creature, which dives into its hole in terror. The large creature starts trying to dig its way into the hole, but there is too many tree roots in the way, and he is unable to get the hole wide enough to enter, after which it slowly walks off into the jungle again.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-3.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    After continuing on, they find a crater like hole in the ground, which they think was caused by some creature, possibly the zukes, and then forgot about later on and allowed to become overgrown with grass. Several of the Myonian Squirrels make their way down to the bottom of the crater, where they just seem to disappear, before reappearing a little bit later and then they go back into the forest. When the explorers take a closer look at the hole with some binoculars, they see a small opening at the bottom partially covered by tall grass, where the squirrels are going into, like they were storing food down there or they had a nest underground. They stop a short ways to the north to set up camp for the night, and to get ready to explore again in the morning.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-4.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    Located just to the north of Amiton before you get to the airport is the Myonian Research Center, which was built on the area where the road to the west side of the mountains was built. Several research projects are going on here, but for now I will only tell you about 2 of them, as well as give you a tour of the complex.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-5.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    On the west end is the housing areas for scientists who will be staying there for awhile, as well as housing for the project leaders at the research center. Looks like some people forgot that they are supposed to park between the lines in a parking area, not on the sidewalk near it.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-6.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    Across the street is the main computer simulation area, where all the research projects are tested virtually before they start to build the prototypes of it in the real world. After the settings and designs are laid out on the computers, one of the 2 supercomputers housed here is then used to test the virtual project so the scientist can see everything that goes on during an experiment, and to see what goes correctly, and any problems that there are.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-7.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    Just down the street is the central command area, where the organizers and heads for the research projects meet and overview the progress of the experiments and other things that go on in the complex, like choosing if a new building should be built or not.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-8.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    Here are the 2 buildings that are part of a large underground network that is used to create and store antimatter for the testing of an antimatter reactor for a source of power. Currently, only small amounts can be produced, but it is enough to get an accurate small scale test.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-9.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    Here you can see the test reactor for the antimatter research, as well as a small communications center. Research on antimatter power has been going on for around 15 years on Myon, and just recently some major progress has been made. Now that enough antimatter for an accurate test can be made quickly, the progress on the reactor design has gone quickly. In just the last 3 months, they have been able to create a reactor that gives out twice as much energy as it takes to create the antimatter, and now the view of having antimatter reactors on spaceships is now coming closer to reality.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-10.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    Just across the street is the nuclear fusion center, where 2 test reactors can be seen just down the street from the control building. The actual reactors are underground, while the cooling systems and the power collectors extend above ground. Work has been done on nuclear fusion since soon after colonization began, and it is now nearly ready to be used to power spaceships, as well as the cities once the population grows. Some of the most recent tests have shown that they can sustain a reaction once it is started by slowly adding more hydrogen, and this can be done for as long as they have enough fuel. During short reactions, more energy has been released that what has been used to start the reaction, and once it is sustained, it can generate much more power.

    hspace=0http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Myon%20March%2020-11.JPG align=baseline border=0>
    The final building in the complex is home to a secret project being worked on almost all day and night. So far the only thing that has been heard about it is that there was a rock hovering around over the sunken area for several minutes, before it slowly came back down to the ground, where it was taken back inside.

    Comments:

    Marvin: Thanks for the comment!

    pipishere: Glad you like it!

    silvrefyre: Thank you for visiting Myon! There is a map on the last page showing the towns on the first landing area, and on that map, Three Rivers City is located below where it says Wenton, and Bulnaruke is off of the right side of the picture. Galaenther City is all by itself on another map, and Thualn and Obie are on another map.

    Back in Galaenther City, here is the new residential area on the north end of the harbor. Due to the large amount of hills and mountains in the area, different parts of the city will be built at different levels with roads connecting them together, which will keep large flat areas for bigger buildings, but also reduce the terraforming costs as the levels in the city will be built at a similar height to the existing mountains and hills.

    hspace=0http://img348.imageshack.us/img348/648/myonmay2016vm.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    On the west end of town is the mayors house, and just across the street there is the boardwalk around the harbor.

    hspace=0http://img348.imageshack.us/img348/2010/myonmay2027eg.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Back near the city's highway is the Galaenther City school where all of the kids currently go, all the way from 1st grade all the way up to high school due to the small population at this time.

    Just to the north or the port area is the commercial district, which is also located on the waterfront and has quick access to the highway. While the roads that cross the highway slow down the traffic on the highway, there are so few of these intersections that the speed limit can be raised to 55MPH even though it is in town.

    As Bruce continues to the north with the rest of the explorers, they soon reach an area where the trees thicken so much that sometimes the sky disappears from view as they travel onward. Strange creatures jump around in the trees along with the squirrels, and include what appear to be flying pancakes that glide from tree to tree before hitting the trunk or a thick branch and latching on. Small 3 legged creatures run along the branches stopping to eat some leaves every so often, and large bugs shaped like a football(American) with wings fly though the air at high speed.

    As they go farther into the forest, they encounter a large herd of brown furry creatures about the size and shape of a cow with horns that is slowly walking through the forest. Several of them run away when the ATVs approach, but the rest continue on their path, only pausing to nibble the grass that grows in the forest. The football bugs often bump into each other and sometimes bounce off trees as they continue to fly around.

    The explorers decide to stop at a beach along the Myon River, and watch as the football bugs splash into the water and catch small fish before eating them whole. Occasionally they see the fish that jump up onto the land and flop around before falling back in, as well as several large fish that slowly drift near the surface like they are sleeping.

    Myon News

    The rail junction between the Amiton-Myon City loop and the Myon Dam line have been completed after a long construction project bringing the rail lines underground inside of the cliff so a large open area would not be needed. The rest of the Amiton-Myon City loop is nearing completion, and is expected to be finished soon.

    Loved the last update...you're CJ is definitely one the sources of inspiration for Shamsia.  I love the way you combine SimCity with real life elements.
