Where I come from small towns have rows of grain elevators along the railway. This is a classic prairie skyline. Simcity desperatly needs to have a Llama Ag Ploppable... Different coloured elevators would be great too! Orange, white, green, and brown are common colours. Also... the larger petrena's plants grain terminal would be great to have as a ploppable version. I think that these would be easy to make a simple lot file out of. Unfortunatly my skills are limited.

Rows of Wooden grain elevators in small towns, with large grain terminals on the outskirts of town are really needed. Every small town on the Canadian Prairie used to have several wooden grain elevators. These are the skyscrapers of the rural area. Different coloured elevators represented the different companies that owned them.

Orange w yellow roof - Pioneer
Green with grey roof - Cargill
White with blue roof - United Grain Growers (UGG)
Grey or white with yellow roof - Saskatchewan Wheat Pool
Deep Red with white roof - Perish & Heimbecker
Brown with yellow roof- Old Saskatchewan Wheat Pool
White with deep red roof - Paterson

There are many different companies, but these are the local ones that I know of. The Llama AG is a pretty good representation of what an elevator looks like. Many elevators were taller and bigger than this. Look for pictures of them on the internet if you are interested in making this building style.

Please someone! Make some ploppable grain elevator lots. Rail lines were always located directly beside the elevator, as they were used to load rail cars.

If I want to have grain elevators in my town I need to move my towns to where they grow, and there is usualy only 1 elevator in a perticular location, which doesn't represent how small towns look.

Thanks!

Western Grain Silos sounds like something for Nexis to do29.gif, I will get onto it.

I don't like the one you showed in the picture though28.gif, too bright of a colour to me.Maybe the one from Ugg or Pattersons.
Keep an eye on *Bats by Nexis* thread next week.

Ps.: If you have a nice picture of one, pm me the url.2.gif

Here is a page with a nice assortment of elevators. The wooden elevators all have the same basic design... With countless different ways of increasing storage. Some have steel graineries on the sides others have large wooden anexes attatched, and some have both or none... like the Llama Ag in the game.

I am really excited to see what you can come up with!

Thanks!

Also... These are Grain Elevators... not silos. Silos are used on dairy farms and are used for a completly seperate purpose. Grain elevators are where farmers sell grain. The grain is stored and then loaded onto rail cars. The capacity of the elevator from my hometown is 80,000 bushels... 1 bushel = 20L or 5 gal.

What would really prove useful is if some made a pack of different textures that would modify the textures in the roads and avenues. I know there are a few but i would like to see more.1.gif

It would be nice to have a large, full, real-world international airport, (another) large shopping mall, and (another) nice looking high capacity hospital.

Oh, and how about this: Prada Tokyo (Herzog & De Meuron) ( http://www.dezain.net/2003/prada/ )

I love the suburban retail buildings created by people like Simgoober, and I download them all the time. But I was thinking, it'd be really cool if there was retail business's like that in an urban format. Anyone else like that idea?

Sort of like what you see on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, or the urban formatted Target in Minneapolis.

It would be nice if one of the more talented batters could create the Phoenix Building located in Hartford, CT. Here's a pic.

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//PhoenixBuilding03.jpg align=baseline>
At one time, it was the only 2 sided building in the world. The teal colored glass exterior is awesome to see in RL. If someone is willing to BAT this beauty, I'd be happy to do some research for details. It's only 13 stories tall but the STEX could use some smaller commercial buildings (IMO). BTW, I worked in this building when I was a fresh out.

Believe in only what you can prove.

To any Bat-developer (but especially to Rising Sun Oil individuals):

I think it would be a great addition to have oil wells, like the ones seen in Texas and OK.  I'm not sure if they could be workable with the big arm going up adn down, but it would be cool either way.  Then the oil industry would be complete in simcity.

So, I just got done watching I, Robot.....OK OK OK, you got me, I just got done watching I, Robot, again, and I thought to myself when I was watching it, how cool would the USR Headquarters building be in SC4?  It's got that wicked cool Deep Ocean Fish looking top level, and the Spinnaker style exterior, I think that would be an awesome Commercial building.  There are some nice shots from all angles in the movie.  I dont' have any pics of it, and couldn't really find any on a google image search, but I'm sure someone with better knowledge of DVD movie captures than I could pull it out of the movie for some pics.

Maybe DuskTrooper is reading this one and wants to take a shot? I'd be impressed!  16.gif

Hi! First time poster here.

I have a request for a BAT. Simple takeoff lights. I have a pretty low end computer and can't really zoom out too far or else my computer will go choppy. Anyway I always like to try and land the planes in U-Drive back on the airport but I often times miss the runway and kind of land on the tarmac diagonally. Some take off lights would be real cool to guide me on the approach!

Hi all,
I have a traineeship at a local baker and I've allways thought it's strange people in simcity 4 don't work night shift even though some may think it is a strange request I think it would be nice to have either one or a small selection different of commercial or industrial buildings that can supply bread and cakes and sticky buns to our simcitizens. And that show people going to and from it at night and shows people going out to have breaks during the night it could be either growable or plobable
In australia we have two or three major chains including suppermarket branches and numerous induhvidually owned shops the major commercially owned bakery chains include:
Brumbies& Bakers Delight(Franchise signiture banners included below for referance)

<ahttp://img222.exs.cx/img222/9237/BakeryFranchises.jpg align=baseline>
People in the USA or canada maybe able to think of other commercial/industrial examples in their own country to use instead of those two Australian Varieties these are just examples to get the creative juices going.

If we could see this kind of commercial building it would be nice and add more reality to simcity(eg. people actually working night shift which would make witnessing their lives more interesting and flaversome, not that it isn't allready)

P.S IT could even be a high end Pastry Store that sells Chocolate eclaires or expensive dark chocolate filled pasty and or a variety of small cakes cakes with shaved white chocolate around the side or pies with glazed strawberries on top. The bakery could be all decorated cakes or all bread either way it would be nice to see a building shinning in the distance during the night slogging through for those who need it the most our simcity citizens.

Here's a relativly simple request: Make a flagpole, with a flag on it, that you can change the texture of, much like the NDEX billboard sets.  I would really appreciate that.

I'm reposting this message here since I posted on a wrong tread. My apologies.

Hi guys!

Well, not all of us are good at creating lots or BATs and we still would like to see some great buildings in the STEX, that's why I created this tread and hopefully someone will take on the challenge of creating those buildings, structures, parks, etc.

My first suggestion is a bridge from renowned arquitech Santiago Calatrava, It's called the Sundial Bridge and it's located in Redding, California across the Sacramento River. You can look it up on this website: http://www.visitredding.com/sundial.cfm It has plenty of aerial views and as you will see, it will look great on some parks.

Ok, Good luck to everyone and have a nice one.

Hi everybody!,

I am trying to recreate suburbs in my region that mimic the suburbs of NY, NJ, CT, MD.  I am hoping someone can create houses that would reflect the housing styles of these areas.  Here are some examples:

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Colonial%20style%201.jpg align=baseline><ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Split%20level%201.jpg align=baseline><ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//split%20level%202.jpg align=baseline><ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Split%20level%203.jpg align=baseline><ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Suburban%20home%201.jpg align=baseline>

These homes would probably R$$ and ploppable. You can name it the Suburban Sprawl Northeast Pack-Vers. 1  or something like that.  Please drop me a line if you have decided to recreate these houses.  BTW,  I am a newbie and this is my first post and I enjoy this site tremendously.  I will be making a donation soon!

Would anyone be interested in BATing some Mormon temples as landmarks?  Ones of particular interest include Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington D.C., Oakland, and (of course) Salt Lake, as well as maybe the LDS Conference Center adjacent to the Salt Lake temple.
