I agree with Nardo, not being much of a terraformer myself I really find your terraforming updates interesting.

Now that I've seen the terraforming I can't wait to see how Osgiliath is going to be populated.

Welcome to page 50
Hey Darmok:

I love the cycle paths, especially using PEGS park tunnel pieces to go under the roadway. Very creative 44.gif

Ahh Yes, a technical update.  You know how much I enjoy these....

Wow, what a massive amount of terraforming....That is what I would call, Dedication to the Craft.....I am impressed that you seem to be able to see that far into your development.

The cycle path along the waterfront is a very nice touch and would be a wonderful ride.  Nice job with the tunnel and especially the way you sectioned them off from the rail line.

I see we are going to see some elevated rail?  I look forward to the completion of the layout.

The highway is coming together....I am not real fond of the way the bridge seems to slope right up on the right side, but that is just a personal preference.

Overall, great update John......Really enjoyed it.  Have a great weekend...

**Well, I was trying to time it out so that I could be the first visitor to page 50, but alas it was not meant to be**

Not too many CJ's get this far, which I believe, is a testament to your vision and skill as a city builder.

Thanks for the first 50 pages

Allright, surprisingly more free time than anticipated, so here's another one.

First, I think that I've found what I was looking for, for the new kind of presentation. As I've used the blue color practically from the begining, I've decided to use it as the main color now. We'll see if you like it.

    Pooty
Thanks man, always glad to see you!

    Nardo
Guten Abend! meine freund! What can I say, the terrain was not really good for building so I had to level it! But I kept some interesting slopes anyway!

    Auf Wiedersehen!

    Sandra
17.gifSorry I didn't mean to put you to sleep! 20.gif And believe me when I do terraforming of that scale I think that I'm probably the one who's getting the more impatient to do some real zoning and plopping! 18.gif
But I have to prepare the terrain first!

Hoping this one will keep you awake 2.gif!

    Take care

    Sharkbait
Hey Sharbait, if you try that, I'm telling you, it's a REAL good exercise of patience! Personally, sometimes I'm getting a bit impatient in the end! 11.gif

    Meinhosen
Here's some result after the terraforming process!

    Sorchin
Thanks sorchin, well I really wanted that cycleway underpass! theres one almost like it, on one of my favorite cycleway in RL!

    Dan
You surprise me! You!... liking tech updates.... naaahhh! 2.gif
Well I think that sometimes it goes the other way around, I do some terraforming, and depending of what I've done I imagine different scenarios! So the key word in your prase was seem 18.gif. But to tell the truth sometimes I also have an Idea before the terraforming too!

Yeah, well the EL rail, I'm not sure that it'll be such a success, I'm really not that familliar with the reality of EL trains, never saw one in real life other than in a movie! 34.gif So I guess we'll see later on.

You mean the slope in pic 2-14? I just didn't want to lower the ground too much on the right river bank.

Your final comment is really appreciated my friend, 48.gif and do believe I'll raise one to your health this weekend!

    Take care.

    Deathtoall
Thanks DTA. I don't think that I go for the perfect look though, I just try to get it up to a point where I can see how a development could grow nicely on it.

    KOSC
Hey man! Thanks for your congratulations and kind whishes!

And now folks, heres another update.

There it is. I sure hope you like the new presentation, I wanted something light and clean.

Folks, I never would have believed that this CJ could go this far. 20.gif, but you're driving me to continue, 5.gif.

Thanks to all for you support! 44.gif

Hey John, first off, I really like the new banner graphic.  The Memorial if very nicely done, however I don't am not too sure what you meant by the Little Bridges  It may be obvious, but I just returned from an exquisite dinner of Shrimp Alexander and two wonderful bottles of Chianti from Italy.........

Well, I'm sure that 'ole Maggot will be doing a brisk business that close to the train station....all those visitors and such.....BTW, it that a gas station near the rail depot?

I really like the continuation of the cycle way and the addition of the tarmac trails....Looks very inviting.

    Fantastic job my friend....

    Darmok,
Very, very nice.  Great work on the Mariner's Memorial.  I like the new light and clean look.  And I just noticed the wildflowers in pic 07... very cool.

    Nice work!

Great park development my friend44.gif I also enjoyed the panned out view of the entire city. It brings into perspective what you have done with the entire area. I also enjoy how you show the development stages. It really helps everyone to appreciate the time and effort you put into it44.gif

I'm looking forward to the next update my friend John (your name is John right43.gif) mine is Steve...29.gif

    Hi Darmok:
I haven't seen u... or your CJ, for a long time... I dont know why I cannot view the pics you uploaded at imageshack for a couple of months, so I just made a complaint to the ISP... Now I can see the pics now.
AWESOME!!! I spent about three hrs in reading your CJ (from page thirty something) and it is superb. Well I'm speechless... or I cannot describe my feeling... so I better use simileys

Looking very nice Darmok! I like the way you laid things out so far! Other than your masterful park work I think the rail lines look great and I dig how the one line carves through the landscape. Another little thing I noticed is was the perfect overpass of the gound highway over the rail line.

Looks like Osgiliath is shaping up nicely! As always looking forward to seeing more!

    Dan
Thanks for your comment about the banner, I just wanted a more integrated look.
Those were the bridges I was speaking of.

    zzavosgexptodanzz.jpg

The Chianti must have been very good! 2.gif
If you like Chianti and if you can find a Nipozanno Chianti Classico, go for it. 3.gif
You being Magott's right hand man must know that the business's never been better! And yes it's a gas station near the rail depot.
I really like those Cycleways, they add a lived in touch to a neighborhood, like the dirt trails.
Have a great week my friend!

    meinhosen
Glad you appreciate meinhosen, And how can we miss with a Peg lot! This one in particular is really beautiful and full of details, I only had to add a few gardens and some trees that's all. And thanks for your comment about the new look.

Those paths, are The Waterfront Promenade ver. 1 by don miguel
    Thanks for your visit!

    Jacky
Yep, the terraforming stage is the longest, but after it's done the rest goes so well! My weekend was very good thanks.
    Have a good week!

    Welcome to Anduin Valley bat.
    Ans thanks for your comment.

    Norfrit
    Welcome to Anduin Valley Norfrit!
43.gifThanks for that comment! BTW were does the name Norfrit come from?

    sorchin
Thanks Steve, and yes there's a lot of time, though lately I didn't played as much as I wanted. RL can be quite demanding sometimes! Glad that you appreciate the tech shots, I know that it's not everybody's cup of tea though!
    Take care

    yaptszwai
Hi Yaptszwai, long time no see. I didn't know that an ISP could block a hosting site!!!! That's news to me. Glad that you took the time and effort to correct the situation and that you read the updates you missed. Hats of to you for your efforts! 44.gif
Do come back anytime, you're always welcome!

    toxicpiano
Hey Toxic, thanks for your appreciation!

    MasterPlanMan
Thanks MPM, sorry that I don't visit as much as I want to do, 34.gif these days time is a bit scarce!
And as for the EL train, I don't think I can use them as good as you! 20.gif As I've already said, they're not part of my environment so I lack personal experience with them.
    Take care

    pikatchoum
Pika, thanks for your continuous support!

    sharkbait16
Hey sharkbait, yeah, well Osgiliath is a strange city to work with, it's really the first time I don't have a kind of rhythm with a city, I feel it's going in every direction at the same time. Well I hope it'll turn good anyways.
    Thanks for your comment!

    Allybabba
Thanks Allybabba, and as I said to Meinhosen, you can't miss with Peg lots!

    Next update should be tomorrow!
    In the meantime

    Hey, Darmok

I've looked through the last few updates and I am loving the 9/29 one. That one just seemed to stand out from the rest. I found that your use of SA's cycle paths was really. . .I'm not sure the word to describe it, just great. I am really loving how they look along the coast.

I really like the new banner you are using on your pics, I hope you stay with this one, it looks very professional and nice. 9.gif

Also, congrats on hitting Page 50. Seems like you are among the only city journals of ST to hit that record. Sculpting Columbia River, Nexis of GENESIS, Palm Point, and now Anduin Valley. Glad to have you up there, Darmok. 44.gif

    sloppet
Hey Sloppet, thanks man, as for a hundred pages, 46.gif, I guess we will see! 2.gif

    And Magott's sends his best!

    Chris
Thanks for those comments, I really like those cycleways, and the coastline seemed to be the natural place for them. Yep I'm keeping this banner and color theme, I think I found what I was looking for, glad you appreciate.
As for page 50, I'm still surprised by the constant and kind support everybody gives to Anduin Valley, Simtropolis is really the best SC4 community! 44.gif
My guess is, that there'll be more and more 50 pages and plus CJ's now, I really think Jeroni's, and Mrbisonm have started a trend and that CJ'ers will go the distance and take their time to develop entire regions while terraformig it! Giving us in the process a lot of new ideas to grow from!
    Have a great week man!

    Hello my friend!

Being just away for a short weekend and immediatly I missed an update!
The first one: Hmm, I may be a halfway good rural builder but you really know how to make a nice park! That memorial is really a nice place to be!

Good work with the train station sector. I must confess I miss a bit those nice 2*1 BATs from Erdm

Hey John, thanks for pointing out the bridges there.  I just wasn't seeing them.  Ok, so on to the update.

Really like the layout of the train sector area, especially the alleyways and the cycleways behind the commercial area.  Those are also great looking bus stops2.gif

I really like how you managed the slopes near the football stadium and school area.  The finished product here looks great with the flower gardens in there.

Cool idea with the Spring Water Found deal.....and BTW, that is a cool looking guard shack2.gif  I really like the addition of the control building and the solar power plant here, really finishes it off.

Wow, that train sector area really took off now didn't it.  Were you expecting that kind of development?

Interesting trash disposal site.  I'll have to look that one up on the STEX, BTW, cool looking guard house2.gif

Great overall shot, great development, great work and great CJ.  You are among the tops in my book here at ST my friend.

Looks awesome Dramok! Although, I must admit that it looked much better when it was low resedential. It might just be me, but you seem to have alot of high rises in Anduin Valley. Still looks great though!

    Keep up the great work!

    Salut my friend!
Wow! beautiful parks, great sidewalks and now the first buildings.
This is a fantastik start. Osgiliath is gonna be awsone. Can't wait for more!

    Two questions for you, John:

First - What is the water mod you are using?

Second - how can you have those trees in such different green colors? I'm looking for that instantaneous result when placing trees with the ctrl + alt + shift + god mode.
    Thanks in advance.

Oh! BTW, the Bastille Opera doesn't seem to work. I can't see it in my menu. The download gave me only one file finishing by .rar
never saw that extension before. Can you help? - Thanks again!

    Take care my friend.

    Darmok,

Hmm, I like your theory of city growth... just add water.  Wish it worked that well for me.  Nice use of the black hole waste disposal.  I almost expect to see PEGs garbage chute next door... 18.gif  Pic 16:  that small area around the train station matured quickly... it looks very nice.
