    Welcome to page 49 everyone!

    Hey D.
What can I say about the Mosaic. I'm speechless (which is a rareity9.gif)
    btw.
What off-site allows you to upload an image so big??
I'm pretty sure image shack only allows pictures of 1MB or less8.gif
    Anyways. Take care my friend44.gif

18.gif I guess I am Sandra, Overall the whole process (with trial and error, because it's the first time I do a mosaic of an entire city) took around 4 hours work. But I think that I've developed a good technique in the end, and if I do another one, I can do it in half the time. But it doesn't change the fact that I'm nuts anyway! 2.gif

    Nardo
For the german part, I think I've found a good translating site, (from a german university) here's the link, you tell me if it's really a good one. http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de/

So I'm not the only nut in the bowl! 17.gif
Yah my old box would also have had a seizure for that kind of work 46.gif , it was crashing even at the thought of opening a web page!

I agree about the highway intersection, it's just that with the diagonal avenue and highway and the lack of space available I was unable to do even just an overpass.
    Have a good week!
    Tsch

i pretty much learned in game terraforming through this cj
and your use of road tiles as a level, so this is always one of
my favorite parts of your cj.  Looking very nice, this looks like
it may be quite a large city huh?

    Hello my neighbor friend!
How can I thank you for all the links? The words to express my gratitude are missing.
I really appreciate all the efforts you done for me. Those bats looks so great!

Thank you !  Thank you!  Thank you! 9.gif9.gif9.gif44.gif

(I'm really surprised that covered bridge is an in-game one).

    Mosaic
Wow! so nice. I will print it. This is now my new reference. I'm gonna throw away my stategy guide.

    Osgiliath update
Like I said before, you are the king of terraforming. I think you prepared the table for a huge city. Am I right! great work!

Well now I just can't wait for more updates.
Again, thank you so much Darmok!

You posted while I was preparing and posting my update, I just saw your post! sorry. 34.gif
Thanks for your kind comments, and good wishes! I really had a great weekend, (I'm a F1 fan and it was the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend). Glad to hear your's went well too!

    Alek
Yep Osgiliath is based on a big city grid, and I might ad that up to now it's the one who's giving me the most difficulties, inspirationwise, 30.gif, I don't know why I just can't keep a focus on this one, like it has a life of it's own, if it was a person I would say it suffers from a multiple personality syndrome! LOL. Anyhow I guess that I could be said for some big cities out there!.
    Thanks for you visit man!

    Pinchman
Don't mention it, glad to help!
As for the bridge, I was surprised too the first time I realised it was an ingame lot! It just appear as a choice when you lay out a road over a river!
Don't throw your guide away, it may be usefull yet, you could put it under an eneven table leg or something! 18.gif
And yes Osgiliath will be a large surface city, not entirely high-density though it'll go through low to high.
    Glad you appreciated man!

    Till next time!

Well, that is quite a bit of terraforming right off the bat there my friend.  Looks good and looks promising.  I like the highway over the rail line, looks quite credible.  I did notice though, and perhaps you have already completed it, but the upper right parking area for the rail station has no access.  BTW, I really like what you did with the metered parking and what I would assume is short term parking.

    Darmok,

That is a lot of terraforming.  The opening pics with the development of the cut for the railway line is great.  Looks promising!

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.

Winston Churchill is generall credited for saying something to the effect of: "People sleep soundly in their beds because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". That about sums up my life, besides the "rough men" part.

    Dan
As you pointed out, that sector is already completed and that issue corrected, good eye though!.

About the parking zone it's exactly what I wanted to do, like I did in Anfalas with Il Tonkso station. More like RL that way.

Have a good week and good rehearsals.

    Meinhosen
Every city begun that way, sometimes it can be a bit tedious, but once it's done the rest (usualy) goes pretty smooth!

    Take care

    John,

Another nice update.  I liked the mosaic in the prior post as well (thank god for a broadband connection...that thing was huge!! 17.gif18.gif )

I like what you are doing so far.  The terraforming was good.  I'm not sure if I like the new format or not yet, but we'll see if it grows on me or not. 2.gif

Promising start with the terraforming and the infrastructure. I really like the closeup of the railway in pic 1_13 with the small cliff between the dividing tracks.

    A teaser and some answers

    sorchin
    Hey sorchin
Thanks for your visit, an update should come tomorrow, I'm really short of time these days! 34.gif

    sandra
Hi Sandra, I like that small cliff too, but it was more of an impromptu thing than anything. I just thought that it would be nice to join Emyn Arnen, Osgiliath and Minas Tirith with the railway, so I had to come down and double back into MT, and by doing so it made the cliff, and seeing it, I didn't want to level it, we could call this, a happy incident! 2.gif

    Always glad to read you!

I'm nearly falling asleep over the keyboard and those terraforming pics made me even dizzier but I admire your patience and it's interesting to see how you work. The cycle paths are coming along nicely. Yet again it's a small detail that I like a lot and it's in pics 2_05 and 2_06 where the cycle path is meandering along the cliff.

As they say, patience is a virtue. A lot of times I just make the entire city flat so I don't have to put up with any terraforming, or just simple stuff. Now I have something else to try in SC4.
