Hey Darmok,

Beautiful update! That collection of midsize and small buildings really works well together, I think. I particularly like how that one building is inversed to create a rather unified looking space. That is a very nice touch.

As for the little park you made in the grassy knoll, that was very well done, very creative.

Great work as always, Darmok!!

Another great update my friend...and wait...what building is that...why, it's American Hardware Supply by RJM Designs...it really fits well in there, doesn't it...  2.gif

I'm slowly, in what little spare time I get, working not only on the MAPP but I'm also trying to do some Lot work for Blue Star...I can't do it as well as Dhoppeii or T Wrecks...but hopefully I can get something presentable done up so I can upload it someday soon...hopefully we can see Blue Star in AVR once it is uploaded as well...  2.gif  Check out the RJM thread for a preview pic...

Great work as always...keep em coming...  44.gif

good update darmok... just wondering, do you plop those buildings (bank, restaraunt, donuts, gas, etc.) because if they were grown there, that mustve taken a whole lot of time, and moving trucks...anyways, great job and i like the waterfront and the little hill with the observation point, looks nice 4.gif

That little park up the hill, is the cherry on the top of the cake. The cake, as usual, top class, but, I prefer cherries (details) and your brand is the best. 2.gif

Ahh, now I see those 'playgrounds', but well only one sandbox? OK, I know the fact about old ladies, but then, think about those poor children, 30-40 of them have to play in a small sandbox, it's a so traumatic experience... ok, I'm being a little too dramatic now, I'm sure they have many places to play in Bruinen Fjord 3.gif

Let's move to today's update!

I will start with the second picture. Nice use of retaining walls, I especially like sections with stairs. The avenue looks so nice being in between of them.

A good thinking with placing gas station near police and fire station, I'll definitely use it. I already make donughts cafés as they're main policemen need 2.gif

The rest of office area looks well in a real, good AVR style.

I really like those paths with fences, and I'd like to ask, is there any possibility of releasing them on STEX? I would love to have that small addition in my CJ...

As you would say it in Polish: Bardzo dobra robota kolejny raz Darmok, z niecierpliwoscia czekam na wiecej! 48.gif

Congratulations on 100 pages! It's taken me a while to catch up. Nice work on the last update - as a worker in a surburban office park I can really relate to those office buildings. I only wish our little picnic area was as scenic.  Thanks for keeping this going for so long - this CJ is like an old friend. 48.gif

That's a great looking waterfront, love what you did with the small hill as well, instead of just plow it away and push the excess off the edge of the map 3.gif. That little path up the knoll would be a great lookout spot over the water.

Oh.. Man, I missed that great collage! It is great! Thank you. It should have taken a lot of time, but IMHO worth it.

Good ol' Liberty Islands! Someday, I'll repost my old CJ.

Hey Darmok, that area you outlined in the first pic looks kinda like New York state!3.gif...back on topic: I know everybody's going to start saying, "How dare you criticize the maker of one of the longest and best CJs around!" But I have one thing to say: The little piece of land jutting out in front of the promenade shouldn't be there, or the promenade should be extended onto that little piece of land. Hey, you said

do not hesitate to criticizequote>
, so I didn't! Anyway, everything else looks great, especially the knoll and the office buildings that you've chosen that go well with the surroundings. I can't wait for more, Darmok!

In fact those houses are not the ingame ones, look at the link section.quote>

They are! Marrast made some lots that replaced the default ingame lots for those apartments. They include Der Kuube, Wayside Arms, Louie's Tenements, and a couple of others. He made new lots because the old ones were well, ugly. And I'm glad for that. 3.gif

[if you're still not convinced, check in the Lot Editor, they're marked with default Maxis naming schemes - they are stages 4 & 5. Or, remove them from your plugins. They'll still grow.]

Short but sweet update. Loving it. You can never have enough donut shops. 9.gif

Cheers, SA

Another great update pal... really luv your little park with the white trails...

wonderin how you can make such a smooth slope using roads only... you must be spendin a lot of time tryin'...really realistic... have u used any mods??

~~~
dunno whether i should ask it here... but i have a little problem:
how can u reclaim flat land from the sea(waters i should say) with a smooth straight shoreline?? I've been tryin' your "street blocks" technique... but i cannot reclaim the land...
the cursor become red displayin sth like "unsuitable terrain" or sth like that
I can only use the street blocks to flatten the landscape...but not doing reclamation...
have u used any tools or mods?? or any other methods you've used?
~~~

thx for readin lol...

doing a gd job, keep it up ^^

lookin forward to seeing your update soon =]

How have I missed two updates? You're not the only one who might need a thermometer... has it really been that long... oh well its good to be back. It is always a pleasure to see what you can come up with (both city and story). I have the feeling I missed something with the two ladies and their copious amounts of pipe smoke, but the pics more than made up for it. The promenade looks great, especially with the t-junctions around that office building. They look more like an addition to the area in front on the office than just part of the path up the hill/grassy knoll (incidentally, I hope there is no book depository nearby or there could be trouble). Those purple trees look pretty good there, where did you get them (if its not too much trouble)?
