Wow, the second half of that game was fantastic. The lead changed 5 times and probably SD deserved to win in the end as even without LT for most of the game and Philip Rivers for the last quarter, they still managed to win. The 2nd Chargers Quarterback, Billy Volek, had a brilliant drive which won the game in the end for the Chargers. That's 8 wins in a row for the Chargers now and if they carry on like that, they could cause the Patriots some problems next week if they have LT and Philip Rivers back in the team. Congrats to the Chargers on their win! 9.gif

Gee, those classy colts fans.

I was very impressed by their cheering when LT got hurt. How classy are they?! And booing that girl? very classy...not. You'd think there holier than thou coach would rub off on them. I guess not.

As for the chargers, incredible game, will be remembered forever, but as I said before, they don't match up well against us. Now I will sit back and listen to another group of whiny fans on ESPN tell me how the chargers are gonna stomp the pats.

like the jaguars

and the giants

and the dolphins

and the steelers

and the colts

and the cowboys

and the redskins

and the jets

and the bills

and the chargers

and the browns

Crap, I just woke up. Sounds like I missed a hell of a game. At least Im 3-0 on my picks so far. Giants are up 7-0 with Dallas on the 3 yard line...as long as Barber gets the TD it's ok.

Damn...TO just got it.

Anyway...congrats Chargers fans. I knew they could do it.

And the TO TD is being challenged.

K bye

thank you thank you

my words on this: BELIEVE! Yes if you do this your team shall will the game

So I believed we could win and we did!

I love it when sports critics or whatever are wrong!

I loved that we flew under the radar and that was the last game that will be played at the RCA Dome. Good to go out with a bang!

I may get 2-2......

dude....we don't need inspirational speeches 3.gif

Trust me, you are a peice of scum if you don't beleive in your team 9.gif I believed in the 01' Pats, and look what happened. But then again, colts fans believed in the colts, and they lost. So, believing doesn't have anything to do with the outcome of the game 3.gif

That was fun.

So we've eliminated Dallas and Indianapolis.  If we eliminate New York and New England next week, we can have a nice Super Bowl with Green Bay and San Diego.

I would like that.

Penaltys killed us again.

We had so many chances but so many false starts and delay of games, was unreral. Another dallas team ousted in 1st round.

Loved the Chagers game very entertaining.

If its Giant VS Pats i dont think i  will even watch the Super Bowl. 26.gif

I could live with GB and NE, Farve VS Brady going for that 18-0 season.

Hope LT and Rivers will play otherwise the pats will destroy them.

The Chargers beating the Colts wasn't an owning. I only got the see the first half of the fourth quarter, but Manning looked like he was too flustered to be able to think straight. I think he was thinking too hard about redeeming himself from the last Colts - Chargers game.

Now, with that said, I'm not going to say that the Colts threw the game away. The Chargers won this for sure. Manning didn't go around putting up six interceptions, so I'd say for the Chargers to win against Indy shows some talent.

Now, with that said, I can feel that the Patriots are going to the Super Bowl. The Chargers are likely going to get killed.

My money is on a Packers-Patriots Super Bowl.

Go Packers!

Packers Pats. Its a nightmare situation, cuz the stadium will be filled bunch of cheese wearing packers fans. Although, farves style doesn't really look good against the pats. hes too reckless. And I don't think their D is going to do much gainst our O.

O, did anyone see T.O. crying? I've never seen him show affection for another person. Thats big if your a cowboys fan, means he may have really changed his ways (not just for a year or two like in philly).

As for the game.

like saturday I expect faulk and maroney to get a lot of balls out of the backfield, moss tobe pretty idle, and stallworth to get one or two big deep ones. If we do go for moss, we have to get it very high, cause cromarties the most atheletic CB ive seen for a while.

If brady gets 4-5 seconds of protection against the chargers front four, he will do great. 4-5 against a blitz, no way the chargers can win. if they blitz, they have to get there very quickly, or brady will have already got rid of the ball.

On offense, I don't see LT being able to hold up in the midteens weather being predicted, afterall, he is a crybaby. Pats front 3 is much better than indy's, so the chargers won't be able to push us down field like they did against indy.

Regardless of what they have done these last couple of weeks, I don't think that Rivers LT and gates can hold up in freezing cold weather when they are all less than 75% at the moment. The D-fense is good but not the kind that you need to be NE.

Patriots 21-Chargers 10

Jeez, Patriots, you're up early. I'm just going to bed...

I thought the TO thing was awesome. Think about him...he's finally matured and found a place where the fans love him, Dallas has an awesome year, they have all this going for them and then....loss....

Not that anyone *enjoys* losing, but a guy like TO HATES losing. You might as well be...[sentence withdrawn. Use your imagination]. And to be fair, TO, Romo, Barber...they all had a pretty decent game. The only reason Romo should get any flak is because he's the QB...and the QB of the losing team in the playoff is blamed by everyone. It had nothing to do with anything else that wasn't on the field of play. His center was snapping it slowly causing offsides, they were killed by stupid penalties...like TO said, the TEAM lost.

That being said, I'm not really a Cowboys fan, and wanted the Giants to win. That game proved you can beat a superior team by making less mistakes. Good luck to anyone that plays Tom "36/38" Brady.

And speaking of that, a Favre-Brady Super Bowl would be really interesting. Two of the greatest QBs of all time in the same game. It would do a wonder for ratings, not that the Super Bowl needs them. I would love to see another Super Bowl like the one from 2000 when the Rams stopped the Titans on the 1-yard-line in the last seconds of the game. I get excited just thinking about it....

The newscasters here were less generous.  As one put it "given what other teams have gone through this year, he doesn't have anything to cry about".

afterall, he is a crybaby.quote>

Crybaby? Geez, you just can't stand the fact that he called you guys out, can't you?

But I can't say that I would include Brady in the team's behavior. Oddly enough, I watched the 60 Minutes interview with him a few weeks back, and I have to say that he didn't come across as a bad guy at all. And his story of how he got to the NFL is very humbling I must say, very humbling indeed. It should be mentioned that Brady hasn't been included in all the controversy concerning the team, and so it's relieving to see that he's a decent guy with talent, just trying to play the game.

Anyways, the really cold weather will most likely play a factor in the Bolt's performance against NE. We're just not used to those temps down here in SoCal! I certainly do hope that they could pull off a miracle win, but realistically, I don't see it happening. The defense would have to put enormous pressure on Brady in order to pull anything off. And with Rivers and LT looking iffy, then the predictions become really grim.

But hey, we beat Indy against all odds. And we showed that we can still pull something off without all of our star players on the field. If that doesn't prove our talent and that we truly are the San Diego SUPER Chargers, then nothin' does.

On another note, snow day? Man, when I was younger and living in Denver, we never had a single snow day, even with several feet of snow on the ground. The closest I ever got to a snow day was here in SD, where they closed school because it was too hot. But that was probably because the school didn't have AC, just fans.

Greekman-If your going to give the chargers a shot, and then write off the giants, it makes me wonder if some of the opium from china got in the SD water System. Giants are very similar to the 05' steelers, they have caught on fire these last 3-4 weeks. Giants have a much better shot then SD.

SMS-Is it just me or do you only comment when I trash LT. He is a crybaby. Since when do you call people out for dancing? He is on a team notorious for its immaturity and endless dancing. Shawn Merrimans teammate calling out another team for dancing? ridiculous.

O, and, on a friendly note, we get so many snow days these days because the old superintendent was forced to resign because all the parents were fed up with him giving us school on days when it was clearly too dangerous for the bus's to be driving, so now the new one calls snow days everytime the temp goes under 32 degrees 3.gif

Dear Patriot fans,

Call us what ever you want. I don't care! Well will give you one of the greatest football games in history. Toady the Super Chargers are more powerfull than last year. In a addition to power we have better players than you! This is true because our second string got up and won the game for us. Do not doubt us because we can win the game with so many talented players and coaches. I am serious we have what it takes to beat the Patriots. The Chargers believe that they can win and I support that. Anything is possible when you believe you can do it. Give the Chargers a shot at this and fear the Bolt!

From,

 a charger fan

and pats how can you say that the gaints are better than the chargers

The chargers are very power full and they won against Indy

They also have a great coach who can lead them to their win!

Giants are better than SD, in the sense that they are the perfect team for playing against the pats, while the chargers don't match up. I don't give a crap if you beat indy. we beat them too. we beat everyone.

Well, I respond when you trash LT because I'm insulted by your insults against him. Most likely if LT was on your team rather than in SD, you'd be doing the exact same thing.

Calling out for dancing? It was not calling out for dancing, that of course would be a silly thing, because every team will have a dancer or two whenever they get a TD or some other positive thing happen. No, he was calling out the clear mockery that some of the Pats players were engaging in, replicating Merriman's dance EXACTLY. Merriman's dance is unique to the point where it's almost like a trademark. I don't see anybody else doing it. So when those Pats players were doing it, they were clearly trying to mock him. And that's what LT was calling out.

You can be beating a team silly for all anyone cares, and engaging in any dances that you want. But when you try to rub it in someone's face by mocking them, that's when it's not cool anymore.

Putting that aside, I agree that all of SD's collective believing that we're going to win isn't gonna do squat. It'll actually hurt more as a result when we end up losing. It's really up to the players and what they believe in. The worst thing that the Chargers can do is get too wrapped up in the pressure of delivering a win, and then lose focus and actually end up losing. They need to focus on the gameplay at the moment, and attempting to cut off the Pats where it'll be most effective.

Brady might be much more consistent than Rivers, but I wouldn't discount Rivers' talent. Remember that this is only Rivers' second season as a starting QB. Brady just has more experience and gets good protection. Whenever Rivers gets good protection and just enough time, he really ends up shining as well, just like he did at Indy this past Sunday. Rivers' worst performances have almost always happened when he's been under to much pressure, because he didn't get enough protection from his team. And that's what he still has to work on, being able to deal with tight situations where you need to get rid of the ball fast.

Let's remember that when Brady joined the Pats, he was being used as a backup, and he was way down the line on the draft list. His talent was simply "discovered" as a result of Bledsoe being injured. If not for that, he may have sat on the bench another few years, his talent being discounted. Interesting, isn't it?

I have a few problems

1. punter: Scifers is a great punter. He can kick that ball down to the 5 yard line!

2. coaches: Everybody is liking Norv now so it's not Marty

I think that we should get the piont for that

and I know Bill is the great coach but when you have a coach who's defeats outnumber his wins. That is something special to win two playoff games

If I did my math correctly is a tie so both teams are even!

Good assessment by Football Fever thatRomo, Ownes and Barber played well. They all took flak from Dallas press for "not playing well/at an all-pro level" even though they all played quite well. The defense was pathetic, the offense line was a let down-and is waaay over rated, and the special teams coverage full of bench warmers whose jobs are to stop KRs and PRs from gaining big yardage failed miserably at their job.

Honestly the coaching was bad, and the team didnt want to win as much as the Giants.

Packers-New England super bowl for me
