The HSR will have the same trains as monorail. So it should be alright, although there is another problem, the speed yoo can't have a differnt speed for HSR and a different speed for monorail. So it will either have to be a fast monorail or a slower-than-the-orginal-modd HSR, or of course somewhere in between. Hopefully someone else will choose it not me.

EDIT: I will get an update (with image) on tommorrow, and thanks to Gaston at SC4D for his Slogan: FAST and LOW is the way to GO.

A few notes concerning "realism":

- High-speed rail tracks are fenced along their entire length. You will have to BAT (or find someone willing to BAT them for you) a set of suitable fence props. They should be tall, and specially made so as to coincide exactly at their ends. I'm talking about a "set", as the number of models might prove to be quite big, because of the curvatures. The max allowed turn radius for TGV is 4km (and it has been revised to 7km)! The original props without the pylons are simply not suitable, they were designed as raised track tiles.

- Ground-level crossings are absolutely ruled-out for HSR. You will have to make overpasses (or maybe underpasses as well) for all network types.

- I wouldn't really like a slower-than-the-orginal-modd HSR, actually I would prefer a much faster one, but accompanied with significantly higher Transit Switch Entry Cost (embarking/disembarking time) settings for the stations. This would render the HSR uncompetitive for short distances, but meaningful for long distances (ideal for intercity commute). The high speed would compensate for the longer embarking/disembarking times. Just like in reality.

Well, I'd hate to see an underspeed HSR and since most people on this site seem to use monorail only for aesthic purposes (like at an airport or amusement park)... Actually, in the show--called "Extreme Machines if you're wondering--those trains would reach speeds of up to 300MPH+ and included the TGV, ICE, Acela and of course Japan's uber famous bullet train (which actually "founded" high-speed rail if you know what I mean). Maybe someone could reskin the monorails to look like those, although an ICE monorail may look a little weird.

As for the speed thing though those were just top speeds during tests (and record-breakers, at that) and in less you need to get somewhere really far really fast, the trains usually only do about 120MPH or so, especially in intercity areas.

Keep calm and take photographs.

I knew the HSR wouldn't be underspeed and was only thinking about under/overpasses not at grade crossings. I'm not that goood at BAt at all, so hopefully someone else can do the track models at the moment I used the HSR models and lowered them for creating the RULs. I can easily swap the models in later.

Cogeo: I don't really understand about the curves, could you post sort of basic illustration if possible.

EDIT:  I think I forgot to mention that GHSR use monorail not HSR to draw so the GHSR is indepedant of the HSR modd. So I will also need to do draggable HSR which will be exactly the same as the current HSR.

Anyway here is a picture of the straight track at the moment remember I can always change depending on what the majority of people like.

Looks promising, warrior! I never used elevated HSR, because the bullet-train mod also used the monorail network. The bullet-train mod looked and functioned better than HSR, but you can't really have a ground bullet-train track.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this project after seeing that picture there. It looks promising!

I think instead of the big concrete things on each side, there should be proper fences 4.gif

In fact, what about just the track without the concrete things, then use lots for the fences?

I could either make lots or 2 versions of GHSR one without concrete thing (does anyone actully know what they're called?) and one with fences? But the 2nd option will only be possible when I understand Type 21 exemplars.

Also is there any point in starting a new GHSR thread?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I really really really need help with the paths, because if I don't get them working, well there is much point in the whole thing, so it's an urgent issue that I need help with.

Its nice to see this project isn't dead and that your working on a ground HSPR. I think it would be a lot better than an elevated one. Good luck and i hope this project doesn't die.

(I would help but I don't have the necessary skills. Are sure no one that does the NAM wants to help, it would make sense for this project to be a optional part of the NAM.)

The NAM team have helped me a lot, but RL is more important than SC4. It also has to be part of the NAM as youcan't have more than one of the same RUL file so all the RULs various people do have to put in one file, which the NAM does.

The mono rail speed is 200 KPH and the current HSR modd speed is 6000 KPH

(In case you wanted to know 200KPH is 124MPH and 6000KPH is 3728MPH)

I'm sure that's wrong but that's what is says in the dat. Would 300MPH be more realistic (482KPH)?

Very bad news - Unfortunately my computer has stopped working, It says the the hard drive has and error and to press control alt delete I do and the process starts again. Even worse news is, the hard drive is 320GB but in BIOS it says it is a 130GB, so even if I get it working the GHSR file may not be there. The only way I can post is with my wii. If anyone knows why it could have happened please, please let me know.

Unfortunately I can't get onto safe, I'm going to see a cousin who knows loads about computers. I can only access the internet from my wii so I can't download anything. If everything fails I'll take it to pcworld and see what they can do.

Read your PMs. Your drive has suffered a corrupted Partition Table. It's very easy to fix, provided you have the right tools.

Get ubuntu or some other sort of Linux based OS that can be booted from a CD. Then go online and look for a free or demo version of a program that can fix partition tables. Google should help you out there.
