3ddz,

That tunnel looks much better than the alpha version I looked at while I was doing the pathing and testing of the paths.

Just one little thing I just noticed on my end. I created the normal (right-hand) versions of the paths, but I didn't do the left-hand versions. Attached is the correct version of the pathfiles which includes the left hand versions for those that drive on the left. Sorry about this.43.gif

I personally like the smoothness... gives it a modern look.

I just discovered this whole HSRP thing. This is great! I just went over this whole thread so, my suggestions may have been suggested already:

I know monorail is not used very often, but if there is a way to keep a monorail and HSRP separated, it would be nice.

The tunnel entrance looked very unrealistic -for me-, but this newer one is much better. I agree with Andreas and MayorTim too! 4.gif You could add a more greyish/concrete color to the smooth looking.

The station looks great! Wonderful idea of making a big transit hub for all types of networks. I would put more glass on the roof.

Finally overhead cables are working well. This is great. Frogface's idea is nice, but can't used everywhere for rail, but your idea is perfect for rail, el-rail and GLR too! I hope will see them in the future.

Anyhow, it is already GREAT! GREAT work!!! Congrats!!!

You can make it maglev too - I guess. 9.gif

Good ol' Liberty Islands! Someday, I'll repost my old CJ.

Well, after messing around with this a bit I must say that I am quite impressed. The tracks themselves are amazing and I love the way the bridges look. The included station is quite large, but I'm pretty sure you'll be releasing a smaller one...for now, though, my Monorail stations look fine.

The only thing that struck me was the cost...is it the same as the Monorail? Actually, now that I think about it there were two different choices in the train menu, do they each have a different cost?

Anyway, amazing job! 17.gifI can't wait for the final release. 5.gif

Does it have to be installed after NAM (alphabetically)?

I would also like to report thet the download contains a .bak file, I suppose this is not needed.

Hey there 3ddz! First of all, let me just say your work is truly amazing. It's been said, but since it's the first time I have posted a comment on this thread, well... it was due. I have been playing around with the Beta release and I loved it, but I did find some things. Any time I try to make a curve I get this weird-looking tracks. I wanted to include some pics, but I didnt know who to do it. The thing is that they look like broken tracks, instead of complete sections. Also, do you think it would be possible to have more options for the Hub? I like this one, but it requires connections to other transportation systems since it's got all the connections. Just to add variety. Thanks and congrats!!

Just notice a small problem with HSRP.

The speed change in HSRP seem like become a radical speed upgrade.

Transit time instantly decreased to below 10 while previously about 50.

After remove the HSRP the transit time grew up back to normal level.

I dont have any HSRP related nor monrail prop'ed, only extracted the mod into plugin folder.

Does anyone have the same problem with me?

at the top of the page, 3ddz said that the HSRP uses a NAM file [the 2x capacity, 10x speed one], so I guess ur experiencing the lower commute times because of it.

would it be possible to have the NAM exemplar separate from the hsrp.dat file, so that users that do not want the speed and capacity increases of the other transportation networks can do so? especially for users that do not have any speed/capacity mods.

if that can't be done right now, i think a temporary solution would be to arrange your plugin folder so that the HSRP loads before the NAM. [i.e. put the HSRP files in folder named "HSRP", and leave the NAM stuff in the "Network Addon Mod" folder, since I believe files are loaded alphabetically].  then u can use the reader, datgen, sc4tool, traffic cop, etc. to manually change the monorail capacity and speed to HSRP values in the Network Addon Mod-related traffic file [or w/e plugin u use to alter the game's transportation network values].

I think thats your Problem. It looks like the file that comes with this download changes all traffic types and not only the HSR.

Is there a way to make these changes HSR only?

[goes off to test my theory stated above, finds out it works, goes back to simtropolis.... internet connection decides to be a ----- for 15 minutes]

i shall rant about the internet in hawaii somewhere else at a later time... anyways, i ran a test city with the HSRP, NAM [traffic capacity and speeds to my settings w/ the monorail changes]. first i tested to c if the HSRP loaded by buliding a monorail track and station, and that worked.  next i tested to c if a street [later upgraded to a road] would turn red with certain number of cars, and it did match my settings. FYI: i did not bother to check other transporation values due to the fact i assumed since the streets and road values matched, the other values would be the same also. [don't hold me accountable for that]

Great work guys getting this out as a beta and all. Is the ICE 3 train the skin?

Also I think that you guys should work on a HSR to rail pieces because most real HSR trains use normal train stations.

Anyways great work and I cant wait to use it!

Personally I believe you should just release the HSR project at a speed properly compatible with SC4 and allow the NAM installations that the users have decided to install on their own to remain the "speed controller" for ALL TRAFFIC, not just the HSR. I don't know it this is possible as I realize you have used the mono "slots" but if doable at all, this would make huge sense in my mind. Users want to continue to use the NAM to control their transit speeds consistent with their own views of SC4 operation. Perhaps a "traffic cop" type option to control the HSR only if that is the only way to deal with it? I have no solutions, just a users comment.. 4.gif

PS: I LOVE the detail work on the rail textures on the tracks and "sides" .. and the tunnels look fine to me.. modern, clean.. GREAT WORK going on here.. 4.gif

Let me see if I have understood this correctly: the HSR is basically the monorail system reskinned? If so, isn't it possible to simply ditch the included traffic speed file and just edit the monorail speed in Traffic Cop for the same effect?

I've been following this from the start, and at one point I thought this project might be dead. But now this looks great, I love the station it looks great, And i've started using this in my city and it works great

Just one quick question: Which one is the speed file, and will the HSRP still work when I take it out (<---In this case I mean the stations and the skin, not the speed, efficiency, etc.)

I want to take that file out because its screwing up most of my cities, but I don't want to take out the HSR (which looks very cool in my region =))

Even if its Eye Candy only then....

no, it is not possible to create new transport networks in sim city, so unless it was made to replace a diffrent network that wouldn't be possible

I forgot to ask.. If I add this to a city that already has monorail, what happens to the monorail? Or should I delete it? This may be in the readme, and if it is I apologize..

At first than kyou all for your comments!

Concerning that speed isue, as said here before you can get back normal speeds when you load the NAM after the HSRP plugin by renaming the folders to something like aHSRP and zNAM.

For the final release i will probably have to include all the NAM traffic files with changed monorail speed so that you can chose wich one to use.

But for the beta it had been too much work to include all these single files.

@NightlinerSGS: No unfortunately the speed file is included in the HSRP core file so if you take it out it wont work anymore. But you can use the folder renaming to get your original speeds back.

@Yoman3: No its not the ICE3 Skin its something quite similar but in blue with slightly different design. Im thinking already about a connector piece to normal rail but not sure jet how to do it

without the train switching suddenly from a HSRP Train to the normal passenger Train.

@cogeocogeo: You are right the bak file isnt nessecary, it contains the old tunnel entrance, forgotten to put it out.

As i wrote above you can chose either to install it before or after the NAM (alphabetically)

@beto_080480: I allready know about that, i have to create new preview graphics to solve this, but dont worry if you drag the track it will turn into a correct track.

@SC4BOY: You need to delete your monorail network if you want to use the HSR, but i think its no matter if you delete it before or after you installed the HSRP Beta.

This mod is simply awesome! Probably the best since the inventing of NAM. I love it. I have a question though:

Probably it's due to my stupidness and somehow (although it seemed to be impossible) I installed something wrong (Apart from the .bak file I installed all). I got two icons for the HSRP in the rail menu, both seem to work the same:

I forgotten to mention the double menu icon, i have no idea at he moment why there are two menu items. When i remove the file which contains the new plop costs there is only one icon,

but it says building cost 100... im working on it.

It might be possible that the exemplar file is also present in the NAM or somewhere else. If there are two exemplar files of this category in the plugins folder, the icons will be doubled.

Regarding the speed issue: I vote for keeping the Traffic Simulator exemplar file separate, so it doesn't interfere with custom traffic plugins. If someone doesn't want the speeds changed, he can simply delete the file, otherwise he could use Traffic Cop to change the values to his personal preferences.

Including all traffic plugins from the NAM could cause problems, since novice users might dump them alltogether in their plugin folder, causing quite a mess. I had this in mind when creating the NAM installer, so I made those fils mutually exclusive. If you want, I could create a similar installer for the HSRP as well, though. Then you could also include multiple versions of the tunnel portal or whatever, and the user will have the possibility to select one of them (and only one).
