No, I have no idea what Ctl+Shift+O even does. The game just quit to desktop, nothing else soon after it finished loading the city.

    Also, I can now drive.

Drive? You got your license? Good for you.

I just loaded the city with no plugins in the plugins folder and removed the farms, and it worked after that.

No, I don't have my drivers licence, it is only a learners permit meaning I can only drive if one of my parents are in the car with me.

Leech10: I am glad that I am not the only one who has a problem with the word license. You do have a license and not licence.

Look the two words up, and you'll see a large difference between them. You should avoid licencious behaviour, eh?

Please do not munge the stereo gear. You are not the only one here, you know. The zukes can hear it, even on your head set.

You want to hear something loud TT? The zukes can do that for you.

*a dark zuke makes the motorhead album play in reverse, as well as periodically causing it to slow down, speed up, and reverse playing direction.*

Yesterday I drove around a parking lot, and then drove around town and in the country near my town for around 45 minutes.

@Leech10: Good to hear you are getting in some driving practice. What kind of a licensing system do you have? Here, we have a graduated system. At this point you would have a G1 which requires another licensed driver with a G permit with you in the car.

After you exit G1, you get a G2 which is good for five years. Under that licence, no alcohol at all, no tickets for moving offenses. If you get any, its back to G1 and testing.

You can exit G2 to a full G anytime you feel you are ready. All it takes is $$.

@GG: No mob here. clink Here's your coke and pizza. Enjoy. With the tanglefoot field and the slug damper, we don't need you to check your piece, but it would be polite.

In Ohio you can get a learner's permit when you are 15 and a half, during this time you mush have a parent or other guardian with a drivers license in the car with you. Once you are 16 and have gone through drivers ED, have driven 50 hours with 10 of them being at night, and have had your learners permit for 6 months, you can get your drivers license. Until you are either 18 or 21, I'm not sure, you can't drive between the hours of 1 AM and 5 AM unless a parent or other guardian with a drivers license in the car with you.

*A zuke begins to wobble and then falls to the floor with a crash and begins to snore. A dark zuke levitates the sleeping zuke into the back room where the zuke beds are at, but along the way the sleeping zuke bumps into the wall and puts a dent in it.*

Welcome splashmo. G'day mate. As far as I know your status is OK at simcity.com. The King was banned by Ralphael for a month and the case was passed to Maxis for adjudication.

Edit: As of now, 11:48 EDT, the Simcity.com BBS is down with a funny message. It has probably been hacked, yet again.

    Went to the Ex today.

Nothing to write home about. Seems to me like it's more of a place for families than anything else. We only spent about an hour and a half there.

Good thing I didn't have to pay though. We pretended like we were part of one of the unions during the parade and got in for free. 2.gif I'd have been pretty cheesed off if I had actually wasted money on it.

@zelgadis: You didn't like the Ex? How jaded of you! Ian, you weren't there long enough to find out. After you crashed the party, did you go to any of the agricultural exhibits? It is a country fair, you know. The midway honky-tonk is exactly that, but in an hour and a half you wouldn't have gotten from the Princes' gate to the Dufferin gate and seen much of anything. Well, too bad you weren't in the mood. Better luck next year. I suppose you missed the air show.

Frankly, we, and most people, only go to the Ex about once every ten years. Like all fairs, once you've seen it, you've seen it. We may go to the Great Northern Exhibition (GNE) up here this year. We've be up here for fifteen years and never gone. Now that we've been in Wasaga Beach, it is just down the road, more or less. We'll probably go this year.

    Then jaded I must be.

If that was an agricultural exhibition, then it was one designed for city folk. The ones I attended in Kentucky and central Pennsylvania were much better. The CNE was pretty standard, albeit large. I did in fact manage to make it from one extreme side to the other and walk into almost every building. However, we found little to make us stop and look.

The hot waffle ice cream sandwich was quite good though.

The air show I saw, though I wasn't at the exhibition at the time. It took place directly above my house. Dreadfully noisy it was. I'm glad that's over, to be honest. It might be interesting to see once, but to have military planes streaking over my house at near mach speeds three days in a row is annoying.

I'll have some pasta thanks bartender. Any type will be fine. 48.gif

Actually, I've checked various sources and they've all corroborated what I've mentioned previously. 'Licence' is the noun and 'License' is the verb. These differences only apply when you use the British system of course, which is what I use. It's funny, but I discovered that fulfil is spelt without a double l at the end. I always assumed it was spelt 'fulfill'.

Other interesting differences I've noted in my experience are the words 'connexion' and 'focussed' or 'focussing'. Of course, not many British even, spell them like that anymore. 9.gif

Interesting thing, linguistics...9.gif I think I should find something else to do...3.gif

I see you guys went ahead and made the CD. I might have to buy one, it'll be easier than going through and re-downloading everything again...

Every single page I go to, it says flash has to be installed. So, I can't see the top banner thing. Is it different, or just clouds?

School started today. I got here an hour and a half early. The highlight of my waiting was pecking a spider off the screen in the caf. I flew 4 storeys down! Stupid thing 3.gif

We went to Grand Marais last Saturday, for lunch and stuff, got to climb the rocks in the harbour.. er, harbor. I got pictures, and will post them as soon as I get internets at home.

When we stopped at a store near the border, my grandpa got a bunch of American beer. I had to carry it out to the car. Some American bikers said you like American beer? and I said ..I don't drink. My grandpa likes it cause it's weaker than Canadian and they're all Hmmph and left. FACT: American Doritos come in larger bags. 13 ounces of chips!44.gif

When we were coming across the border, we pull up, and the CANADIAN border gaurd said Where y'all from? .... It surprised me. At least the AMERICAN one said you'all3.gif My grandma was nervous that she'd have to pay duty for the beer (12 pack of Miller High lite and 6 pach of Busch) and she was all nervous on the way up (it was slow, because the gaurds are all huffy) and my brother and I are sitting in the back, eating beef jerky, that was cleverly manufactured and packaged to look like chewing tobacco. Anyway, we never got a receipt for the beer, and the gaurd is all ... *scribbles on a paper* bring this into the office26.gif and we go there, and go up to the guy, and he looks at the papers, crumples it up, and says Okay. You can go ... [:0] ... Yeah! ASo, we're saying how lucky we were, and when we get back on the Canadian side, we remembered - Ontario border guards aren't taking duty on anything until they get to carry guns. So, we got off easy there! If you want something form America, nows the time to go.

A cookie for whoever read all that. They're rainbow chip!39.gif

Well, school must be starting. Things are picking up after a rather doldrum summer. Welcome back everyone.

@ zelgadis: Well, next year try the Barrie Fair or the International Plowing Match which is usually held near here on some farm or other. Very interesting exhibits of breeding stock. How you like working in Canada? Was today your first day?

@ ephorex_77: The autosystem delivers a portion of spaghetti Homer. Isn't English wonderful.

@ Shadow_Assassin: The caesar salad is served on an iced plate with a flute of very cold champagne. Enjoy.

@ vidioman: The factory didn't make the CD, it was a work or Dirk and Co. Please do not blog this thread. Glad you were able to escape the evil Americans and survive your adventures in Canadian customs.

@ Nexis: OK, here you are: SmilieCanada.gif alt=Canada Smiles. In la Belle Province, they only fly the Quebec flag because they have had a hard on for us since 1755 (the Conquest). They have never let bygones by bygones, but most of the cause of their problem as been gone for some time. Our famous Canadian bacon? Oh, you mean peameal bacon. The autochef prepares a large serving of peameal bacon with fried onions and potato slices, and fresh garden peas with terragon. Enjoy.

@Bookworm: The autochef has asked if a fudge brownie is OK. We don't serve fuge's here, except via the jukebox. Having your agreement, here's your order. Enjoy.

@blaze: Welcome to the Moose Factory! The autosystem will look after any food and drink requests by sensing your wants and delivering them to you. Think clearly, now. Meanwhile, have one God's Blessing on us. An Irish coffee with lots of whipped cream is served using the private stock of Tullamora Dew
