Hey everyone. 

Came here to get some mods for SC4, after getting frustrated once again with Cities Skylines 1 and 2. I've had SC4 for about 6 or so years (it was one of my very first purchases on Steam when I got a usable computer. But I do remember being addicted to SC2013 as a child, guess I didn't have anything else to compare it too), but during this time I've only tried to get into it a few times, typically getting bored after a few hours. Hopefully this time it'll stick.

Anyway, decided that I might as well properly join the community. Beware however that I'm really not accustomed to using forums, so I'm a bit lost as of now. Uh, if anyone knows where I could get some Japanese buildings, I appreciate it.

You might start off with a search on the STEX for 'Japanese'...

Welcome to ST, my friend . If you're looking for Japanese buildings, @pikachu_SQ has an entire thread dedicated to that. Or you could check out @art128 and @Ct1999 as well.

Thanks. I'm a bit confused as to how I can find specific threads in their profiles, though. I see that there's a recent activity tab, but can I check all the threads they have created or something like that?

You're on the right track. Click their name to go to their profile (as you've done), then look for View All Activity on the right side. Click that. Then on the left: Topics

That'll be every topic (also called Threads) that they have started.

I'm not sure which thread specifically @IB22 is referring too for Japanese content, but maybe they'll point it out for us.

What I mean is, pikachu_sq has created a thread called "Found Custom Contents," but before you click it, it will simply say, "Japanese Sites." To access it, go to "View all activity," then, "files" and that should pop up. It's not really a thread, but just pikachu_sq's way of uploading files to the STEX. Sorry for any confusion. Like I said, @art128 and @Ct1999 also have Japanese files that you can download.

There's also the Found Custom Contents club where we post things that have a bit more information available to justify a full upload entry. It will grow as time goes on.......

Hiya,  @o.noa. Welcome to Simtropolis!  

For SC4, I believe the very best place to start would be the sc4pac (Mod Manager). I'm not yet in a position to use it myself, but I've been following its development all along and it looks damn impressive.  

For SC5 (aka SimCity 2013 or SC2013), you're pretty much on your own. There are some mods here for it, but it's all but abandoned by most everyone.

Hello folks. I am not sure why it took me so long to join, as I am relatively ancient, but not _too_ ancient I guess considering my first SC was SC2000 (the amount of childhood hours I poured into the game was interesting to say the least).

Hi everyone! Was a lurker on these forums for many years, and apparently a mute member for many years since. Coming back because a childhood friend and I are inspired by Metropolis 1998 to try our hands at a hobby city builder hearkening back to SNES, 2000, 3000, and 4 that we played in our childhood.
