Great as usual!

Jeroni, you never forget the small details that make you cities credible.

67.01 the parking spaces near the tram station.
67.02 parkings and little market place near the church. By the way I like the way the avenue act as a delimitation between agricultural and residential
67.03 Again parking space with a walkway to the baseball diamond. The fence to protect the children from the railway.
67.04 The U shaped street for the luxury houses. (There's a place not far from where I live that Is like that!)
67.05 Again the avenue separating farms and commerce.
67.06 Lovely night shot

Ets Amunts

Ahhhh!

When first I saw those pics a lots of pages ago! I was beginning my experiences with terraforming.
I can say now that knowing all the work and efforts there is behind those pictures, that I appreciate them MORE for that!

I won't comment on them separately, they are ALL the result of superb craftmanship and patience! I'll say though that 67,10 is my favorite because of the way the citadel dominates all the surrounding farms and towns for kilometers around!

Amigo, great work!

Take care

Sorry to say but I was not as impressed with the high school as with the rest of your pictures, mainly because I have no idea how the cars got to the parking lot 29.gif3.gif However the descent to the marrast pier in 67.05 is really good.

Jeroni,

My friend, you ARE SCR -- the heart, the soul, the creator.  Mayor?  No...  I believe the correct title would be god of the region!

Costa Tramuntana
67.01  I really like the way you've used the Heritage Tree.  It looks good in the roundabout by the station.  Your rail station looks good.  You might think about a pedestrian bridge across the tracks in order to allow your Sims to get to the parking lots.  Hmm.  Now that I think about it, I wonder if you can put that over active railroad tracks?  [EDIt]  If not a pedestrian overpass, then is it possible to have a section of railroad track that has a pedestrian crossover on the track piece?  [END EDIT]

67.02  That is a very nice church you've placed.  It reminds me of a Baptist church in my neighborhood.  In 1996, Hurricane Fran knocked the steeple off the church.  I'm curious as to the purpose of the parking lot near the church.  Is it for the church members?  I see you have a small roadside market across the street from the church.  Any chance of getting some good Summer fruit -- peaches, cantalopes, cherries, etc.?

67.03  What a great high school.  I would imagine that it can support a rather substantial student body.  The baseball field is interesting.  I would have expected a football field (that is, soccer field).  Did you modify this high school yourself?  It has an extra long wing on the left side.  Also, where did you get the gymnasium building next to it?

67.04  Very nice use of parks, Jeroni.  They fit it quite nicely with the luxury homes.  That is a nice U street that goes around the  homes and the park.

67.05  This reminds me of some of the mixed commercial/low wealth residential areas I've seen in various cities in the states.  A really good mix of both.

Ets Amunts
67.07  Very nice job on the Citadel.  Very good terraforming.

67.08  What a nice walk this would be -- nothing but the wind in the trees and the sound of the approaching falls.  Thank you, Jeroni, for this wonderful interlude.  I certainly will be sure to take my picnic lunch.

67.09 and .10  Absolutely excellent overview pictures.  I do enjoy being able to have a bird's eye view of the area.  Thanks!

Another great update, Jeroni.  Thanks.

Regards,

Vandy

In the end you will see, You is you and me is me.

My first post after months of reading... 2.gif

This journal is absolutely fantastic. I've had a peep at a good few of the journals hosted here and, good as some of the others are, i'm yet to see one that shows such a consistent attention to detail and eye for realistic aesthetics. I reckon Jeronij would sooner cut of his own leg than employ a.... dare I say it.... grid system. Cheers for the inspiration!

I'm very fond of the Citadel, as it reminds me very much of the Victoria Citadel at Gozo in Malta. Do you know this place by any chance?

citadel.jpg

If I may be so bold, I have a suggestion (or is it request?) 43.gif

I'm trying to build a realistic city centre park, a la Central Park NYC, using your wonderful (and much-implimented) fences (see picture). I was wondering if you would consider making a diagonal lot that is half nice grass and half white pavement, so it would fit more neatly into the surroundings. God knows i've tried doing it myself with the lot editor, but I can't find suitable textures! 45.gif

ParkDiag1.jpg

So, if anyone else can help, i.e you have a texture that is half nice grass and half white pavement or an overlay texture that is half nice grass and half transparent (diagonally) then i'd be very grateful for the help.

And another picture of the park i'm oh-so-proud of, with the City Hall and monument on show: 48.gif

Well, I don't know if this is an option for you, but why not move the current SCR to this new region? And by the way, could you provide a link to the diagonal streets mod? Thanks a bunch.

I think you should make it a satellite country, by the way the region looks great i'm looking forward to seeing its development!

Hey Jeron! I am really impressed with you new region, and as sad as it would be to see SCR end I think you should just start a new CJ, maybe refer to SCR for a story line or whatever in your new CJ, but I think you should start a new CJ! Great work man, keep it up!

I think I should send you my computer (has no problems running a large map, full detail) so that you can still work on those other cities37.gif hehe.. As usual you continue to creat one of the best presented and creative journals anywhere. Keep up the great work, and if you need to...Start new regions when you want to..it will help keep the creativity going...and we will continue to be able to learn new ways in teraforming and layout....sense you be the master teraformer

Your freedom is the most expensive thing you have, even if you arn't the one that paid for it... Use it well.

I honestly have no clue how you could make a CJ even better than what you have, but I'm sure you'll find a way to do it!  Let's see it in this new region!  It looks like an incredible map.  Is it anywhere on this site?

And your pics never, ever cease to amaze me!  You seem to really have a conept of what you want it to look like and you somehow are able to achieve it.  Keep up the amazing work! 44.gif

I would start a new CJ. Having a very successful CJ is fun, but I know from experience that making another successful one is even more fun! Take the plunge, and let's see what comes out of it.

I think you should start a new one. Because I know if you decide to make it a satellite region you're not going to be able to focus enough on either of them. So as much as I hate to see SCR end it would be even better to see you start this new region with this new mod etc.!!!

    Jeronij,

I just noticed the pictures you posted of Mallorca Island, (it's hard enough to keep up with all of the updates on this CJ, much less backtrack to look at old posts).  Gorgeous mountains.  We've (my girlfriend and I) been planning a trip that will take us from Madrid to Istanbul along the Mediterranean coast.  Hope to do it sometime next spring.

    I really enjoyed those pictures.

    Thank you.

Dragonanime: I downloaded all the texture packs on the STEX, just as a matter of neccesity for the multitude of lots i've downloaded. Thank you kindly for the suggestion anyway. 2.gif

benji, you can have a look to this lots set , that includes a diagonal overlay texture that could help you. BTW, I am planning to release and addon for the Diagonal Park Fences, that will include +- 8 additional pieces, and I will include an ovelay diagonal texture with exactly the same texture. If possible this weekend.

As much as I hate to see it go, I think that you should finish SCR for now and start on the new region. This will give you a chance to start from scratch and create something even better than before. Maybe, for all the SCR fans, you could post some of those extra pics for SCR every once in a while. That way we get the best of both worlds! 2.gif

    Amigo mio,

those pictures, are fabulous. And Buena Vista looks like the valley of Eden!
Cycle Dog mod + Jeroni = Oeuvre d'Art
The railroad : Am I mistaken or it is curved in an unusual way? 42.gif And yes those are diagonal streets!

Jeroni, really those pictures blow me away! It's no longer a game, those looks like REAL photos!

As for you starting a new CJ, well, I don't have the answer, all I can say is this: take your time before taking this decision my friend, and in the end I'm sure you'll take the one wich will permit you to have more pleasure! We (the ones who follow regularly your work) tend too easily to forget how much time and effort you put into this CJ, so in this decision I guess I should say Think of you and your familly first of all. And don't worry about us, if you decide to run two CJ, rest assure that most of us if not ALL of us will gladly read them! 19.gif

    End of sermon 2.gif

Oh I almost forgot, It's really an honor being associated with that new region of yours!
    I thank you for that.

Don Darmok de Buena Vista..... hey.... that sounds really good!16.gif

Amigo, take care... of you, and your familly!1.gif

    POP!

That's the sound my head makes at the sheer possibility of jeronij making a second CJ... good Lord Almighty!  I don't think I could handle the beauty and awesomeness of a satellite region of SCR.

I appreciate the small mountain that apparently now bears my name 1.gif  Shoot, and to think that meinhosen is pidgin German for my-pants (No, don't think of newpaper headlines to go with that name...)  But all around, that looks like a stellar region to work with CycleDogg's new mod.  I can't wait to see what you do with the new terrain... it'll be cool.
    Way to go!

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.

Winston Churchill is generall credited for saying something to the effect of: "People sleep soundly in their beds because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". That about sums up my life, besides the "rough men" part.

    Jeronij,

I agree with Darmok and will say to think of yourself and family first.  Do what makes you happy and I'm sure that your many devoted followers will respect your decision.  I don't think you'll lose any fans either way.  BV does look good and you've got some interesting things going on already.

    Respectfully,
