Is there a place where SimCity 4 Community people post their cities that they have made available for download? I'd love to be able to download and view people's models of cities like New York City, Las Angeles, Toronto, Edmonton, etc.

Hi @Badplayer03

Welcome to the site!

Developed cities are not something we recommend uploading to the site for dowmload for a couple of reasons. One reason is they are very large to host. A second concern is that there may be issues with what was used to create the cities. Having different plugins would cause problems when opening another person's cities.

You might check through the site's Gallery section.  Some members do post images there of their developed cities (see the tab at the top of the homepage). You might also check the Showcase topics in the forum. You'll find many examples of various aspects of the game.

Another thought... If your interested in off-site images, you might try to search for SimCity 4 cities in Google or something else. I know I've seen sites that have albums posted of example cities. I can't think of specific ones right now, but you might give it a go...

I was hoping then that there might be a site that is more condusive to this type of thing, or maybe people could post links to Google Docs or Microsoft Docs files. Sadly, I'm not that skilled at city building, and my interest in SimCity is more in admiring cities that are pre-made or in admiring other people's work. I don't just want to see pics, however. I'd like to be able to interact with the city, and maybe play around with it. I am hoping that there might be a site, or at least a forum topic where people could share their work one way or another. I know with many games, people sometimes share save files for things that are of interest to other players, and I was hoping this might be the case with SimCity 4 Community.

We have one completed region and all its cities, special permission was given to add it to the STEX as it was saved from the SC4EVER website before the site died ... it does need some dependencies and those are listed on the download page

I can assure you that there are no websites related to the SC4 community that allows you to upload completed regions. Unfortunately, this is hated by many members of the SC4 community because of the too many hours that are spent on building a region especially when it involves massive regions.

My advice is to see the SimCity 4 content creators on Youtube to understand how they build cities and get inspiration to then attempt building your own cities

We do have the Ready Made Regions category with a few uploaded regions:
    https://community.simtropolis.com/files/category/117-ready-made-regions/

Just indeed, there are considerations with regards to the file size of fully developed regions. As such, it's why there is a 100 MB limit to said category, and files must be in a compressed archive (.zip or .rar or .7z) when uploaded.
