Hello ST Friends,

While on my way back to full SC4 gameplay, I have started by ensuring my game has all the original necessary and completeness files.

I compared items here: https://community.simtropolis.com/sc4-maxis-files/ with my Plugins folder, and found its almost an exact match, except im missing a bunch of dats, and then i have this extra dat called z_AllInOne.dat.  I looked for it on the STEX but couldn't find it (there were some plop building dats that might relate).

Does anyone know what this might be?  Its 26KBs and has a create date of 3/5/2004.

Also... about those missing files... I can't find these anywhere on my system.  Is it possible these are known by another name, or perhaps rolled into another pretty common file?

Plugin_002_TheLivingMall.dat
CastleSet.dat
Longfellow Castle_4d50ba18.SC4Lot
Plugin_007_AirForceBase.dat

Thanks.

Hi, the file AllinOne.dat comes from this mod by toroca here. It allows to have jobs in Maxis buildings (see the readme in the download).

For the other 4 files they are all on the page you linked above.
The explanations are clear, the Maxis_Buildings.zip contains all the additional landmarks and the 2 bldgprop files.
Further down there are the same additional landmarks but as individual downloads. Note that the CastleSet.dat file is in the Longfellow Castle zip.

I hope this helps.

Thank you gwada971 for the answers. That makes total sense, especially why that file was found with my Landmarks.

Yes, I grabbed a new copy of the files i was missing and put them in the directory.  But im just very surprised that all 4 of those were completely missing from my plugins.  I wondered if installing some other file, deleted those, or gave instruction for me to remove them so not to have duplication or conflict.  But I guess I'll never know. so I put them back in.  It will be fine.

I noticed that Toroca's mod for Functional Landmarks says to have it load after the rest.  I assumed by putting z_<filename> it would load after everything else in that directory, however Ive seen other plugins on STEX say to put things you want to load to override in DIRECTORY's with z_<foldername>.

Does anyone know if the Game reads alphabetically within folders, or only reads the folders alphabetically when loading plugins?  What's the right answer & best practice?

    Thanks.

Both. To give you an idea, a folder named z and with appropiate underscores would be loaded last. Rivit's tool, gosh, it's a d mn SC4 Datanote lol, is pretty much useful to know which one is firstly loaded.
