Due to some soil degradation at the plantations located at D'Angelo Island, the plantation owners have erected two manure depots on the Island, something we haven’t seen in use since the 1970’s. One located near the corn plantation at Plantation Route. More controversial, the 2nd located at D’Angelo Main Road in the middle of D’Angelo Village. Several residents have complained about the smell and the many insects, but so far without any reaction from the local authorities.

Nvidia Corporation geological team, have found a source of aluminum , in the jungle north of Mountain Village. They immediately acquired the land. As trained workers is a sparse resource at Bounty Islands right now, they have stated that they neither plan to extract the metal nor sell the land, currently awaiting better times for industrial production. But they promised to start a component factory as soon as the workforce has improved, although they actually need gold rather than aluminum for their core products.

The approximate location of the geological test drilling, revealing the metal depot.

    Majed Armed, June 1936

Majed Armed is the son of Martina (a daughter of Sister Birgitta), and Palestinian immigrant Ibrahim Ahmed. He was born in his parents' small apartment at Cepero Main Waterfront, November 1970. In the late 70’s the family relocated to then very desirable New Village residential area, where Majed spend the rest of his childhood and teenage years. Majed met Parisian Jeanne Vázquez in 1988. They married, moved to a small apartment in the same area as his parents’ home and got their only child Gafur in 1989. They both worked at farms and plantations, until Majed got his own fishing boat from 2000 to 2011. He lost his mother in 2012. As Jeanne started having knee problems the moved into a small apartment with elevator access at Moria Tower. Having success with wool production Majed was offered a job at R. Johnson SunWear in 2019, for the first time they had enough income to get their own house, moving to Lucia Village. His father died the same year. Jeanne’s knee problems increased and she was forced to retire in January 2030. They moved to Mountain Village, getting closer to Majed’s work. Jeanne died after stroke in their apartment at Jungle Passage, March 2032. She was 68 years old. The combination of a stressful job at the factory and the lost of his beloved wife was too much for Majed, he developed panic attacks. Advised by the doctors at Plateau Clinic, he quit his job and started to work as a tourist bus driver, between Cine De Loro and Shark Beach. Finding a nice apartment at Ruiz Tower, the two rooms very small, but with a great view of the water and Ruiz Strait Crossing. Majed is now 65 years old, he no longer has signs of anxiety.

    July 2036

In June, the immigration authorities realized that they had to loosen up of all restrictions. During the latest month a huge number of new citizens has arrived to Bounty Islands.

After Freaks Village was completely exterminate by the police in November 2035, and they no longer provided logs for the wood industry, HIQUEA Ltd decided to expand their own logging in the rainforests. Adding another camp in West Jungle.

    August 2036

As mentioned back in December 2035, A preservation committee was formed to protect demolition or relocation of old and/or cultural important buildings. Now the committee has published their 1st memorandum, declaring three buildings national treasure, giving them the highest possible protection.

Bounty Bay Harbor: (Preservation category P1)

The location of the south part of the harbor, called the trade pier since a 2nd pier was constructed in 1908, dates back to the early 1800’s when a primitive wooden construction, located further south where the shipyard is today, burned down to the ground. The only remains of this first stone construction is (parts of) the foundation. The original harbor offices and warehouses was wood, and burned down several times, until the first brick buildings were erect in 1881. All these building survived until a passenger hall and harbor office was constructed in 1917-1918. Sadly, seen from a historian’s point of view, the old warehouses from 1881 and even the passenger hall and harbor office from 1918 was demolished in 2004, when a government led by President Thomas Williams, decided to modernize the trade pier. The north part of the harbor, originally known as Fisherman’s Pier, later just Fishing Pier dates back to 1908 and luckily this construction has survived, with just some necessary renovations, over its 127 years lifespan.

    9ELA4Bk.jpg

Two colonial era farmhouses, Fenna Chapel & Republic Park. (Preservation category H1)

The two farmhouses have been dated to between 1870 and the early 1880’s, originally build as homes for the governor’s personal guard. We know of a Governor Mansion Guard named Biel Rodriguez and his pregnant wife, moving into the house closest to the park, in 1886 (*). Maria Ruiz lived in the other house from around 1910 or 1911, and the former leader of the transitional government, lived in the house next to the park in the early 1930’s.

Fenna Chapel and the old town park (later renamed to Republic Park) was constructed in 1898. The Chapel has, besides its age, also historical value through its graveyard, holding graves of many people from the colonial era. A fire in May 1954, destroyed some important artifacts and church records, but a large part of the original interior remains intact.   1izCbGb.jpg

The Old Town Fort (Preservation category E1)

The first fort, today referred to as The Old Town Fort was constructed 1886. Due to military records, we know some names of the first soldiers posted in the fort, during the late colonial era pirate attacks: George Sullivan, David Munoz, Mila De Jong (killed in action), Mila Wozniak (killed in action), Hugo Ruiz (killed in action), Carmen Rodríguez (survived the Sugar Field Encounter), Alice Van de Berg (killed in action), Verónica Rodrigues (killed in action) and Andrea Greco (killed in action).

    ZIetqyL.jpg

(*) Previously historians believed it was 1889, but historians in the 1990’s showed that the records from Fenna Chapel was misinterpreted.

The committee is: Council member María Harris (previously Leone), Professor Javier Benítez (MP/URL, Green Revolution), Professor in History at Bounty City University Antonio Benítez, Lotte Brouwer from University Research Laboratory and Architect Elizabeth Pérez from Bonner Construction.)

As mentioned the religious importance of the "Order of Fen" has declined over the latest decades, less than 10% of Bounty Islands inhabitants visit the chapels and worship on a regular basis. The Order is still wealthy, but today the income comes mainly from tourists visiting The Gaia Monument and Fenna Chapel. Chiara Ruiz, the current leader of the order, has constructed a large abbey to gather all the nuns and monks of the order. Where locals and tourists can attend the unique religious services of the community. Fenna Chapel will be turned into a museum. Alicja Chapel, and D'Angelo Monastery was sold to local housing developers. Sergio Worship, demolished.

The open polices of the government, have resulted in large waves of immigrants coming to Bounty Islands over the latest month, more the 100 in September alone. The aim was to attract new workers to the job market and that is now basically solved. The downside has been a huge number of families not able to afford a home in a very hot market, with apartment and house prices skyrocketing. Today you will encounter homeless people all over the islands, but especially clusters of shacks have appeared, in the outskirts of Bounty City, . The Government has now lowered the tax on urban development, to fix the problem.

    Carlos Taka Family, November 2036

Carlos Taka (born Carlos Wagner) is the son of Alexandra Taka. Born in December 1973. Carlos biological father died when he was very young and his mother married Heinrich Taka, when he was 5 years old. Heinrich adopted Carlos and little sister Dea. Dea sadly died from chickenpox in 1986, but Carlos still had older half-sister Tami, from Heinrich Taka’s first marriage. Carlos spend his childhood and teen age years in New Village, Cepero Town. He did not get a 2nd level education. Carlos left his family in 1995, moving to the city, to work at the new cinema where he met his girlfriend Russian immigrant Svetlana. They moved together in a small apartment at Cattle Road Residential Area. Carlos lost his stepfather in 2011. In 2013 Carlos found work at R. Johnson SunWear, a substantial higher wage compared to the cinema. Svetlana started working at the plantation at Coffee Road. They could now afford a house at Sugar Road. Svetlana gave birth to their first child Mishiko in January 2014. In March 2016 their son Ryuji followed. Sadly, Mishiko died in November the same year from an undetermined tropical fever. To make everything worse Carlos lost his job at R. Johnson SunWear, had to take various low paid jobs and had to sell the house, moving to a cheap apartment in Chinatown. Svetlana started working at Cocktail Bar Beijing. Carlos lost his mother in 2028. In the early 2030’s they both got better paid jobs as truckdriver at City Truck North East, they could now afford a much nicer apartment in Sugar Road Residential area, right next to the Faces of Power art monument. Turned out the apartment block was unstable, seemingly the contractor used illegal construction methods and cracks started to appear in the apartments and foundation of the building, consequently the building was demolished in 2033. The family received a compensation and could move to an even better and much larger middle-class apartment in Chinatown. Carlos 20 years old son Ryuji Taka still lives with the family. He is homosexual, but with a strict Japanese style upbringing from his father, only his mother knows.

The family apartment at the lower floor of the red building, has a fine balcony, the only downside is some smell from the nearby tannery.

The location of a manure depot in the center of D’Angelo Village, have been met with continued protests from the village residents over the last year, as a result he local authorities have demanded the instantaneous removal of the building. As the Ramos Family Banana Plantation was most effected by the bad soil in the area, they gave up and sold the land to the Catholic Church.

Due to the fact that United Food, even though they have recently opened a sugar plantation on D'Angelo Island, still can’t keep up with the demand from Schubert’s chocolate factory, Bounty State Medication and the two rum distilleries. United Food have acquired United Fruit’s cocoa plantation, at Shark Beach Road. Expecting to turn it into several sugar greenhouses. Included in the deal is that United Fruit will acquire United Food’s Pineapple production in the greenhouses at D'Angelo Island.

The new middle-class residential complex in the north part of Cattle Road Residential Area was sold out weeks before the doors opened.

The Cepero metro system have been extended with another station “Miner’s Village”, located at the western end of South Cepero Road, not far from the Solar Power Plant. To support commuters to and from the many new jobs created in the area, after the location of The Defense Head Quarters, SBM2, The Military Agency and The Abbey of the Holy Mother. Workers from Solar Power, Jørgen Jensen’s Agricultural Park, M. Leroy Firearms and the Mines are also expected to use the station. Some busses from D'Angelo Village will also use this new hub, instead of Cepero Park Metro.

    December 2037

Lucia Santoro was born in 1982, in the Italian town Riva del Garda, located at the shores of Lake Garda in the province of Trento. The daughter of Hotel Owner Michele Molinari, she was brought up with hotel management and started working in the family hotel “Sole & Panorama” when she was just 15 years old. 21 years old she married professional Challenge Tour Golfer Luigi Santoro. Lucia gave birth to their only child José in 2024. 6 years ago, Luigi Santoro stopped playing at a professional level, and started to arrange Golf Travels for Italian Tourists. Lucia continued to run the family hotel with her brother and sisters, but accidently stumbled upon an invitation from “Visit Bounty”, to build a resort at Shark Beach, with substantial financial help from Bounty Foreign Ministry. The couple sold their shares of the family hotel in Riva del Garda, and came to Bounty Islands, starting the construction of their resort at Shark Beach.

Santoro Golf Resort, currently consist of the main resort, two luxurious beach villas and the golf course.

    January 2038

About 14 years ago, Television Station, TV1 City ran a series of 30 episodes about Bounty Islands from January to October 2024 (page 15-16). The programs were mainly focused on Bounty history and the urban development of the Islands. Those programs will be rebroadcast with one episode a day during January month. After which, TV1 City will transmit a new government sponsored series of programs, with one weakly episode, mainly focusing on the latest 15 years, the financial situation and some relevant issues Bounty faces today.

Short 2037 Report from State Statistics Department:

Top 3 Industrial Export: Cigars 20.247, Firearms 15.043, Fashion 14.645

Top 3 Raw Export: Meat 21.199, Uranium 8.880, Coal 8.487

Births Rate: 2,29%. Immigration Rate: 0,67%. Death Rate 2,52%. Emigration Rate: 0,00 %. Disappeared: 0,00%

    Unemployed: 3,28% Homeless: 3,11%

This year it is 100 years since artist John Walsh painted the famous “Olivia”.

Oil pastel pencils on white painted wood, 27x36 cm

    O8CtZEE.jpg

Nobody can know for sure who she was, but all respectable art-historians lean towards the idea, that she was the wife of Pedro Gómez, the son of Juan Gómez, who was Grandson of Carmen Rodrigues and foster child of Mónica Roux. If that is the case she was not living in the Shacks, but was working at the Tobacco Plantation with John. Olivia Gómez died in 1977, she never confirmed whether or not she was the girl on the painting, always just replying something like "She look's a little bit like me, don't you think".

The new upper-class Institute Square Residential Area developed in 2025-2026, in the beginning in 2027 the population reached 32 families. Those numbers were quite stable until the recession began in 2036, with inflation, lower public spending and the resulting decrease in living standard for many families. Some apartments are empty and mansions abandoned, if things don’t change, valuable homes risk demolition. Today 27 families live in Mountain Village.

In the agricultural sector, the village is the major producer of cocoa and also deliver about 20% of the total sugar production. Other minor products include banana, wool and milk.

    Plateau Village, North District.

The most important industry in the Plateau Village area is without question R.J. Caribbean Fashion Design, running with a yearly turnover of 11.407 coins and a yearly surplus of 9.955 coins, since the manufacturing began in 2021. The 2nd most important business is Stoned Planks with a yearly turnover of 5.516 coins and a yearly surplus of 4.867 coins. Bay Cheese Goat Farm runs with a surplus of 2.398 coins. Mining and forestry in the area, deliver important raw resources, although their direct contribution to the economy is limited. The same goes for the cocoa plantation, dating back to the 1940’s. The only new production facility since 2024, is a logging camp in West Jungle.

Today at TV1 City: The 2030’s Recession

    National and private economy 2025 - 2037

What was to become the recession of Bounty Islands economy in the middle of the 2030’s, began already in the middle of the 2020’s with huge investments in infrastructure, especially the expensive public transport reformation, and the construction of new high class residential areas,. Resulting in an overheated construction and housing sector, followed by increasing labor costs in both public and private sectors. From 2025 to 2030 the total labor cost from public and private sectors increased with about 28%. Schubert Holding stopped producing cigars in January 2031, and also the total BNP was reduced. The total cost continued to reach new highs, with continued construction project, most notably the ambitious military and security installations on Cepero Island. The BNP couldn’t keep up, not only did Bounty Cigar’s 2nd production line closed down in March 2034, but several supply chains was hit by unstable deliveries, making the alternative products, introduced to make up for the missing revenue from the tobacco industry, less profitable that it had been originally expected. 2035 was a disaster with a negative national balance of 24.926 coins. The government was quick to respond, with the first warnings in 2032, social reforms was immediately introduced, with reductions in the social welfare system, cutting public costs. The increase in most public salaries was cut down and no longer high enough to follow the growing inflation. Waves of new immigrants was welcomed, to help the businesses fill vacant jobs and soon the private sector wages, followed the trend from the public sector. The production pr. work hour was reduced but so was the labor cost. It is a question of political opinion if the strategy was right, but the fact is, that after two years of negative balance, 2037 ended with a high plus.

    gD9jSQT.jpg

What did this all do to the private economy of people living at Bounty Islands? First of all, it is surprising to see that despite an average decrease in income/inhabitant from 118 coins/year in 2035 to 114 coins/year in 2037, the number of middle-class residents have continued to raise. The effect of the “good” times in 2025-2035 was a decline in the % of working-class and increase in the % of upper-class. With the reforms in 2035 that reversed, basically back to where it came from. The number of underprivileged did not increase by the reduction in some public welfare programs, actually it is lower today than in the early 30’s. It is off course important to note that these figures are %, the population is much higher today than it was in 2025 and even 2035.

Today at TV1 City: City Court, Chapel Museum, Tunnel & Bridge.

    Presidente Jakub District, Bounty City

Residents: Back in 2024, 71 families were living in Presidente Jakub District. With the construction of the tunnel to Plateau Village, some homes disappeared with the demolition of Old Banana Road. In Monica Roux Residential Area working class apartments stood empty, after the tobacco plantation vanished. Several apartment buildings, facing North Harbor Road, was torn down. At New Bird Street, a new modern high-class mansion has been constructed next to Maria Bird Gold & Jewelry. Presidente Jakub District have always been a desirable area, even more so after most of the working-class blocks have been replaced by lower houses and mansions. Even the cheaper looking apartment blocks are mainly populated with middleclass families. Only Fenna Tower got some plebeian culture and expression left. Today just 57 families are living in the district.

Other Construction and Ownership: From 2032 to 2035 The Traffic and Logistics Ministry constructed a new tunnel from Plateau Village to Presidente Jakub District. The project also included demolition of the Old Banana Road connection, reconstruction of Bird Street and a Bridge to Harbor District. López Construction bought the tobacco plantation at Maria Ruiz Road (approx. 1915) in November 2033. The plantation was demolished in 2034. By request of the Legal Department of the President, López Construction establish the city’s first Courthouse at Maria Ruiz Road in 2035. The bus garage at Parrots Allyway from 1977 was torn down in 2036. The land was acquired by Ramos Construction. A new garage was constructed by López Construction at Bay Street. In January 2027, the bus garage at Jungle Passage was demolished. Local radio station, Radio North, covering the northern villages and the north part of Bounty City, was built at the garage’s previous location, in 2036.

Part of the district, seen from the balcony of The Parliament building.

    EfKwEPK.jpg

Production: There are just two production facilities left in Presidente Jakub District. Maria Bird Gold & Jewelry with a yearly production value of 8876 coins. Bounty Bay Rum with a yearly production value of 8369 coins. In both cased figures are average values over the last 20 years.

Services: Presidente Jakub District is the most important political and governmental area of Bounty City, with The Parliament building, Council of the Districts, Bounty Main Police Station and lately The City Court. The most important religious building is Spiritual Baptist “Corpus Christi Church”, after Fenna Chapel was turned into a museum. Two media building are located in the district, Bounty Islands only TV station, TV1 City and local radio station Radio North. The Cultural House at Donkey Curve is an important provider of art and cultural events. Restaurant The Pineapple Chow and The Embassy Grocery provide food, drink, clothes and entertainment for the locals. Chapel Clinic provide necessary local healthcare for those who can be cured without hospitalization. Since the new public transport system was finished in 2029. Roux Monument Metro Station have serviced 1215 travelers, Bus line 3B, from Mónica Roux Monument to Plateau Village Square was used by 1069 commuters.

Tourism: Tourists mainly visit Presidente Jakub District to enjoy the free experiences the area has to offer. A walk in the The Republic Park, viewing the old graveyard at Fenna Chapel followed by a free visit to the museum, discovering the history of the two colonial era farmhouses at Chapel Road, viewing the waterfall in Mónica Roux Monument. Some just pass through, to grab a bus up to Mountain Village, trying the gliders at Northern Skies. Very little income comes from Tourists in the district, mainly an occasional coffee, lunch or drink at The Pineapple Chow and some transport fee.

    Wednesday 3rd of March 2038

Today at TV1 City: Council Park, Johnson Building and The Harbor Metro

    Harbor District, Bounty City

Residents: Back in 2024, 51 families lived in Harbor District. In connection with the closure of Bounty Cigar’s 2nd production line and the construction of a modernized Bounty City Hospital in 2034, the government acquired a lot of land in Harbor District. Originally the plan was to build a wastewater plant, but with the signs of economic decline, the project is now on hold. Anyway, the government had also bought working-class residential buildings, behind the police station and at Maria Ruiz Road with too many vacant apartments and torn them down. Basically to avoid young squatter, taking possession of the empty apartments. The area behind the police station is now included in a larger currently unused state property. The area along Maria Ruiz Road was included in The Council Park located at both sides of the road. Today 41 families live in Harbor District.

Other Construction and Ownership: As indicated above, Bounty Cigar’s 2nd Factory and the local Army Camp was demolished, leaving a large open space in the district. Its future has not yet been revealed.

Production: There is seven production facilities in Harbor District, over the latest 20 years they have had an average yearly production value of respectively: The Johnson Building 17.205 coins, R. Johnson WorkWear 15.722 coins, Bounty Cigars 12.981 coins, Loyal to Familia Shipyard 8.683 coins, Leone Bay Cheese Ltd 8.275 coins, Original Bounty Rum 6.995 coins and The Fishing Pier 1.023 coins.

Johnson holding’s financial division, had the highest turnover in Harbor District over the latest 20 years.

    HgCyjHI.jpg

Services: Since the loss of the army base in 2034, Harbor District has four state owned institutions left, the Department of Political Science in the old colonial era building, originally housing The Imperial Institute from 1915. Bounty City Hospital, Harbor District Police Station and off course The Harbor itself, still the most important port at Bounty Islands. In the private service sector we got Loyal to Familia’s Club Babilonia and LtF Diver's Club. Since the new public transport system was finished in 2029. The Harbor Metro serviced 1521 travelers. Bus line 2C , From The Harbor Metro (originally Bounty City Hospital) to Inland Sea Waterfront was used by only 597 commuters, although it was expected to become an important connection between The City Metro System and Cepero Island. One explanation can be a lag of qualitied bus drives in the period.

Tourism: Just as Presidente Jakub District and the North District, Harbor District has no tourist accommodation. Some, mainly cultural orientated tourists take daytrips to visit beautiful Ruben Ruiz Memorial and the old Original Bounty Rum distillery, to taste the famous rum. Otherwise Harbor District mainly attract thrill seeking tourists to LtF Diver's Club or younger nightlife types partying at Club Babilonia.

Today at TV1 City: Exports Latest Ten Years

Looking at the top export goods, it is no surprise that we find cigars at the top, as it has been since the mid 1920’s. But we also clearly see the restrictions enforced on the entire tobacco industry beginning to hurt. The last few years cigars have been more and more on level with other industrial product like cloth, firearms and jewelry and even farming product meat. Over the ten years period the average years cigar export was 46.372 coins.

Firearms also started the period on a high note with two good years. 31.841 coins in 2028 and 34.742 coins in 2030. Due to supply issues and problems with vacant jobs in the production chain, it havent been as good in resent years and the average yearly export over the period ended at 18.329 coins.

Cloth had its best years more equally spread over the period, 24.275 coins in 2028, 23.361 in 2031 and 21.998 in 2036. Offset by very low export in 2032 and 2037, the average yearly export over the period ended at 16.207 coins.

From 2000 to 2020 meat export grew from just 1.079 coins to 14.751 coins a year. Today it has become the 4th most important export article. After a slow 2036, meat reached 21.199 coins in 2037. Over the ten years period the average export was 15.590 coins.

From 1980 to 2020 Jewelry was the 5th most important export item, with an average yearly export of 6.642 coins. It is still the 5th highest selling export item, but the yearly average have improved significantly, from 2028 to 2037 the average yearly export was 14.669 coins. Best years was 2035 and 2036 with respectively 24.492 and 22.334 coins.

    Yig1o24.jpg

Grasso & O’Neill’s pig farm it the largest supplier of meat at Bounty Islands

    vwH74wz.jpg

Boat export have been under pressure from fluctuating deliveries of wood. The best year in the period was 2028 with exports at 24.433 coins. Offset by very low export in 2032 and 2037, the average yearly export over the period ended at 14.047 coins.

Although cloth is still the main item from Johnson’s factories, items from R.J. Caribbean Fashion Design have grown to become Bounty Island’s 7th most important market. Over the last ten years the average yearly value have been 13.542 coins.

Leather grew from an average yearly export in the 2010’s of about 4.000 coins, to an average of 10.000 in the 2020’s. After the Torres family, transformed their goat ranch on West Jungle Road into a leather tannery in 2018. R.J. Caribbean Fashion Design started to order leather from the tanneries in late 2021, and consumed some of the production, but it is still a top 10 export article with average yearly sales at 13.043.

Just as Boats, Furniture exports have traditionally been hurt by fluctuating deliveries of wood, but HIQUEA’s furniture factory received the first shipment of synthetic materials in late 2034, hoping to stabilize supplies with a new synthetic furniture series. From the beginning of 2037 the input stock have been solid and HIQUEA management expect an increase in production of 20-30% over the next 10 year period. Over the latest ten years the average yearly value has been 11.849 coins.

Somewhat surprisingly with the many new items and improved production methods used today,   Rum still makes it into the top ten list of highest export products. With extremely great years in 2034 and 2035, at 17.687 and 26.930 coins, out weighting the bad years ,2030 and 2033  with 3.681 & 5.015 coins. The yearly average export value has been 11.584 coins over the last 10 years.

    Kl68qKI.jpg

After the introduction of synthetic furniture products, the wood from HIQUEA lumber mills, is no longer as crucial as they used to be.

    e46oQmK.jpg

Just outside top ten we got the following items, yearly average export 2028-2037:

Beverage 10.471 coins, Cocoa (raw) 8.038 coins, Uranium (raw) 5.755 coins, Coal (raw) 5.393 coins, Medication 5.357 coins, Steel 4.918 coins, Wool (raw) 4.527 coins, Processed Food 4.220 coins, Iron (raw) 4.102 coins, Cheese 3.395 coins.
