  THE STORY OF BOUNTY ISLANDS

 Prologue:

After hundreds of Years where Bounty Islands was a leftover and almost forgotten colony, “THE KING” have managed to spread a rumour in Europe, that precious metals have been found on the islands, hoping to attract new immigrants. As far as we know, no such metals have been discovered. But people and heading for Bounty from all over the old world. This story is about some families descending of the original Spanish inhabitants and a few of the people and families coming to the Islands in the early waves at the end of the 19th century. Other people may appear along the way, I don’t know how many I will follow.

Well aware that investments were needed “THE KING” transferred some reasonable funds to the Governor, most of it was spend on a ridiculous oversized mansion to host the Governor family and his private guards, but some was at least used to upscale the main islands infrastructure.

Rubén Ruiz

One of the lucky townsmen to get a job at the new Rum Distillery was 35 years old Rubén Ruiz, he was from one of the old farmer family’s but he preferred working in the Rum industry to the sugar plantation. His wages were more than doubly. Rubén was married to Dolores with three children, but all old enough to support themselves. People at Bounty Islands get their children at a young age, in fact Rubén already had a grandchild, 1 year old David Sánchez, son of daughter Ane.

    Mila De Jong

Mila De Jong was just 20 when she was the very first of the new immigrants to set foot in Bounty Islands. Living as an orphaned in the Harbour district of Rotterdam, selling all she got and move was her only option to escape prostitution. The first years here was not easy either, she was unemployed and had to survive on the little food she could find in the jungle and almsgiving from the local farmers.

    QaMPgoE.jpg

Her life in the shack was lonely and she soon found company in another homeless immigrant George Sullivan from Wales, who moved into her pathetic shelter. They are not yet married, but she is pregnant with his child. Not a good situation getting a baby in those circumstances.

    The Rodríguez

The last family to be introduces at this point in time is Ane and Biel Rodríguez and their daughter Mónica.

Ane is 26, Biel is 35 and Mónica 8 years old. They all belong to the aristocracy of old military families and are both working as guards at the Governor Mansion. They live just across the street from the Mansion in the original Bounty Village. Their house may not seem perfect, but it is high standards for Bounty Islands.

@ulisse and @catty-cb Thanks for following and those nice replies.

    Mila De Jong

Mila and George’s were both able to use a gun, and their luck changed when The Governor decided to build a fort to protect the growing community. They were both hired as soldiers and even though they had to stay in the old shack due to lack of vacant housing, they now had a combined income of 16 coins, more than enough the support a family of three.

    Lucia Gómez

Lucia Gómez is the daughter of well-established Teamster family Carmen & Rubén Rodriguez, distant relatives of the already mentioned Ane and Biel Rodríguez. Lucia was sent to Buenos Aires to get an education and came back with a high school diploma. But she soon fell in love with unemployed Antonio Gómez. After that her entire family abandoned her, and she is now living in a shack, with her unemployed husband and her two children Mariano and Juan, supporting the entire family working as a smelly manure spreader.

    Mila De Jong

The rumor of precious metal had reached the Pirates of the Canary Islands. They attacked a sunny morning in February. Two squads were sent from the Fort. Sadly, the squad with George Sullivan got lost in the jungle and Mila De Jong’s squad had to face the pirated on their own. Mila De Jong was killed in action that day in the jungle at the west side of main Bounty Island.

    Uy3ZdN1.jpg

Mila De Jong was just 24 years old when she died. George Sullivan could not bear to stay in their old home, he built a new shack in the jungle closer to where his lover died. George and his two years old daughter Martina De Jong visited the simple gave in the jungle, every day.

Nice storyline and you are tempting me to dig out my old copy of tropico

    Thanks

Tropico is and have always been good game. Version 6 is very much Tropico, but also a great leaf forward with many new options to spice an already nice series. That said from someone who is very new to the version, I have only played sandbox and just the to first era's before I started this.

@gwada971Ya very sad and early end to one of my major characters.

    Antonio Gómez

The one that actually initiated the gold extraction business at Bounty Islands was Lucia’s unemployed husband Antonio Gómez, strolling around in a small cave in the jungle he found two small pieces. The Governor bought them and offered him a leading position amongst the mines, if he showed him, where he found the gold.

    Lucia Gómez

Living your life at Bounty Islands is very hard, death is very present every day. Bad living conditions, starvation, and hopeless healthcare kills about 8% of the population every year. About 80% of the population lives in homemade huts and shacks. Very few have access to more than simple corn products and a few lumps of meat. Even worse, healthcare is provided only by old “wise” men and woman who often does more damage than good.

    Nrs4cxh.jpg

A tragedy in the “Rodriguez Family” when both Lucia Gómez and her sister Dolores Garcia loses their firstborn child within half a year. Soon after what “The Governor” start a huge construction site, many of the poor people hopes it will be a hospital.

    zSJZrbV.jpg

Ruben and Dolores Ruiz also met death face to face when their daughter Valeria had an accidence at the ranch, resulting in a bad wound at her leg. She died of blood poisoning only 25 years old, leaving her husband Javier Martinez with two small children

No, “The Governor” had not founded a hospital, it was a circus and amusement establishment.

    Mónica Rodríguez

We haven’t heard a lot from Ane and Biel Rodríguez for a while now, simply because not much have changed in their life. Unfortunately, you might say, that have changed. First Biel (37) and soon after Ane (28) died from pneumonia, most likely caused by some unknown virus. A neighboring family, Christina and Álvaro Morales, adopted ten years old Mónica. The family had two children of their own, 2 years old Antonio and 4 years old Noa

    Fenna Bruno

20 years old Dutch immigrant Fenna Bruno have come to Bounty Islands to form a Catholic Chapel. Growing up in a nunnery she has some knowledge of medicine and will be able to raise the health of the poor and sick. During travel in Europe, she met 18 years old Italian Riccardo Bruno. They married before they came to Bounty Islands. Fenna Bruno is a blessed soul, she immediately adapted two orphans. 2 years old Mariano Pérez and newly born Sergio López. Sadly, Mariano did not survive his already horrible health conditions. They gave Sergio the Bruno family name, as he would not be able to remember his mother anyway.

    Bounty Islands Gossip

    The unofficial Bounty newsletter

    Housing Speculation

Due to the fact that the death toll is very high, making it hard to fill enough workers into new production facilities. The Governor and his friends from the old world, has started to invest in housing. New residential buildings spawning all over town

    wBvh6z5.jpg

    Alcohol

To fight moonshining. The Governor have constructed a public pub “The Donkey Mansion”, where the commoners can buy and enjoy the leftovers from the Rum export.

    UPneLI4.jpg

    Pirates from Canary Islands

The 2nd attack from Canary Islands pirates hit Bounty Islands, the pirates were defeated near Forrest Road, but 29 years old Polish immigrant Mila Wozniak was killed in action.

    PrYUEMx.jpg

    Revolution

Secretly a group of people have been plotting to bring The Governor down, they believe a free tropic will be a much better place to live for the majority of the inhabitants. About 25% of the population strongly believe in separation from the old “Kingdom” and the numbers are rising. Mónica Roux is leading the revolutionary fraction, spreading her message from household to household.

About two years have passed since Fenna Bruno opened the Chapel. Health at the Island are slowly improving, but a lot of people still dies from bad health and poor living conditions.

    Carmen Rodriguez

In the Rodriguez family, last mentioned when Carmen Rodriguez lost two grandchildren, one from each of her daughters Lucia Gómez and her sister Dolores Garcia. Since then, she has also lost her husband Ruben, her daughter Lucia Gómez and the husband Antonio Gómez. Lucia’s child Juan is now in foster care with Mónica Roux, leader of the revolutionary fraction.

Luckily Dolores Garcia’s branch of the family has all survived since then, and even gave her a new granddaughter, three years old Carla Garcia. Carmen now works at the gold mine able to pay for a simple but nice apartment at Mine Square. Dolores Garcia has a very fine job at the Teamster’s Office, living with her family in a house at Park Road.

    XgRAOCX.jpg

    Morales family

The bloodline of Rodriguez Beil and Ann Rodriguez dried out when their daughter Mónica Rodriguez got Malaria and died. Things are better with the rest of her foster family, both children are well and the Morales family moved into the apartment block where also Carmen Rodriguez lives at Mine Square.

    Ruben Ruiz

41 years old Ruben Ruiz is the eldest person living at Bounty Islands, as most never make it to their teens and few make it past 35, making it past 40 is very rare. Ruben is still an important senior worker at the distillery. After losing his first wife Dolores, he married his co-worker María, now 40 years old making her the oldest women on the Islands. María brought a son and two grandchildren into the family, they all took the Ruiz family name

    FVnns38.jpg

    Ane Sánches

Rubens only living offspring is daughter Ane Sánches. After losing her first husband Javier Sánches, Ane fell in love with George Sulivan, the former lover of Mila De Jong. Ane daughter Martina Sánches is now 5 years old.

Thanks a lot, it is rather fun to try and keep track of all the small people running around in my town.

If you never played any Tropico games can recommend, both campaign and sandbox is always good fun.

    Ruben Ruiz

Ruben Ruiz died a natural death a few days before his 42 years birthday, after a long life at the distillery. Loved by everyone on the island, Fenna’s chapel was full of people the day of his burial, even the Governor came. Ruben Ruiz was buried under the centerpiece, in the “Ruben Ruiz Memorial”. The memorial was donated by and located next to the old distillery.

    Alicja Volkov

Fenna Bruno’s chapel also works as an orphanage, but out of the 5 children she took in, 4 has already died. Fenna decides to found another Chapel, to provide healthcare and help more homeless children. She hires a Russian nun Alicja Volkov to run the 2nd chapel. “Alicja Chapel” was constructed next to “The Donkey Mansion” at the South Harbor Road and Cattle Road Junction. Alicja Volkov shares an apartment with German immigrant Andreas Schäfer.

    Bounty Islands Gossip

    The unofficial Bounty newsletter

Fighting with the 3rd wave of attacks from Canary Islands pirates, took place at the South Coast Road sugar farm. Two full squadrons defended and easily won the encounter. Ruben Ruiz widow Maria, lost her son Hugo Ruiz in the battle.

With a lifetime production of 12.100  Barrel of Rum (*), the distillery has clearly been the most profitable production facility for “The King” and “The Governor”. Now with a more stable workforce due to better housing and healthcare, they invest in another. The old “Original Bounty Rum” brand now has competition from “Bounty Bay Rum”.

    (*) Value about 47200 coins.

“The Governor” has constructed a Naval Station at the corner of “The King’s Strait” and “Bounty Inland Sea”, in public often referred to as “The Pirates Cove”, due to its location in a natural rock formation on the coast.

To fight starvation, The Secret Revolutionary foundation and the two nunneries have founded a fishing pier at the harbor. With fishing boats for the poor and unemployed to get an income. Also, for the general population to get better and more varied food.

Need for agricultural products has forced the farmers to expand into the mountains north of the town. With a sugar plantation and a sheep ranch.

Family trees and maps will be updated from time to time in the 2nd post in the topic.

    María Ruiz

Living conditions have improved, evident by the fact that more and more people make it into their 40’s.

Ruben Ruiz widow, 42 years old María Ruiz seemingly have found her 2nd youth. She has fallen in love with the 13 years younger Italian born Leonardo Pellegrini and have moved into this house at the corner of Chapel Road and Governor Road.  Leonardo Pellegrini was employed at the Bounty Bay Distillery, when María met him at “The Donkey Mansion”, after she moved into his home, she has also changed workplace from Original Bounty Rum Distillery to Bounty Bay distillery.

In this update, I will take a look at who is left in the original bloodline of Ruben and Carmen Rodriguez

    Carmen Rodriguez

Just to remind you, Carmen Rodriguez was the mother of Lucia Gómez, who was in Argentina to get educated, but ended life as manure spreader. Her husband found the first gold on the Island, but died soon after.

Carmen is now 40 years old, still working in the gold mine and still living in her apartment at the house on Mine Square. Her private life has improved since she was mourning her husband. Now she has a new husband, the 10 years younger Dutch immigrant Luuk Willems, who also works at the gold mine. Making them relative wealthy compared to Bounty Islands standard.

    Dolores Garcia

Carmen 25 years old daughter Dolores Garcia, was mentioned when she lost her daughter Susana some years ago. Again, when she got her 2nd daughter Carla and moved into the house on Park Road. The death rate amongst young children is still very high and since then she lost another child, her only son Sergio.

The family is still doing quite well financially, with the house on Park Road. Carla is now 6 years old and past the age where most children die. Her younger sister, 3 years old Monica on the other hand, is quite weak and might not survive the rain season.

    Juan Gómez

The last from the bloodline of Ruben and Carmen Rodriguez, is Carmen’s grandson and Lucia Gómez’s son Juan Gómez, living in foster care with Mónica Roux, leader of the revolutionary fraction.

Juan Gómez is now 8 years old, but sadly quite weak. The relatively poor family lives in an apartment at a house on Pasture Road. Close to the construction office where the adults both works. Juan often plays with Martina Sánchez living in the same house. She is the grandchild of Rubén Ruiz, farther of the famous Original Bounty Rum brand.

The Revolutionary foundation also build a Cultural House, at the empty piece of land between Coconut Road and Pasture Road. The house hosts exhibitions of local art and handicraft, and traditional music. but the house also functions as a propaganda machine for the revolution, printing illegal newsletters and pamphlets.

    The Espositos

The number of inhabitants in Bounty Islands has just surpassed 200 people, mostly due to the many new immigrants coming from Europe. One of them 19 years old Italian Tommaso.  In Naples he married the much older but very beautiful widow, 32 years old Bella Esposito and took her name. Together they reached Bounty a few weeks ago. Tommaso was the very first employee at People's Market. Bella got a job at the teamster office, picking up shipments.
