How do I rotate a region map for SC4? I can only get as far as SC4 mapper--but I does not give me the option to rotate my region. What can I do?

Thanks.

This will depend a great deal on what you want to accomplish. Is this a region you've been playing? If so, then there is no way to rotate it. Or, is this a new region you are creating from a grayscale image or SC4M file? If so, then it can be done.

Let me know which you are after and what you are working with as the steps will vary slightly.

If you're extracting the topography of an existing region, or importing a brand new region, you can export the terrain through SC4 Mapper, as any of the supported image formats (16-bit grayscale and RGB topography). I often rotate, mirror and re-scale pre-made regions by other authors by exporting as an RGB bitmap, then I open an image editor and do the rotation/mirroring/reflection. You then gotta import the rotated region and then create a suitable config (unless you like the plain rectangular grid of large cities).

To my knowledge, we have no way to rotate already built terrain; but rotating blank terrain is easy to do with this method.

Though rotating the view of the terrain as such would indeed be a welcome change. A little surprising that the devs have never come up with this. *

The "SimCity 4" vanilla Opera House is the most evil thing in existence. Avoid.
